The Black-breasted leaf turtle (Geoemyda spengleri) is listed as EN on the Red List by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). The population of these turtles in the wild is threatened by pet trade and habitat destruction. This makes trustworthy caretakers of this species all the more important.
The species lives in various terrariums in the aquarium of Cologne Zoo, which is also internationally known for its terrarium area. Many endangered species live here, which have a chance of surviving in the wild thanks to their husbandry at Cologne Zoo.

Black-breasted leaf turtles are not necessarily easy to observe. These special turtles can wait motionless buried in the ground for hours before finally catching prey. That doesn't necessarily make them perfect zoo animals. Nevertheless, the species is kept.
The shell, which resembles a leaf, is particularly visually interesting. This allows the graveled tortoises to blend in well with their natural environment. This can also be observed very well in the Cologne Zoo.

ok... mir fehlen aber irgendwie die echten Informationen? wie viele gibt es denn zB noch wenn sie auf der roten liste sind. das muss man ja evtl auch nicht alles extra einsprechen. evtl einfach nur als text und halt dann das nützlichste aus wikipedia =) de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinesische_Zacken-Erdschildkr%C3%B6te

Bei Wikipedia sollte man doch vorsichtig sein und es ist nicht unbedingt Aufgabe eines Video so leicht auffindbare Infos zu bieten. Diese Videos sollen Lust machen, sich mit solchen leider wenig bekannten Arten mehr zu beschäftigen.
