    Just found your channel with this video. I've been fly fishing for over 20 years. I still feel exactly as you described. There are days that I walk off a creek feeling completely defeated. But, that seems to only make me want to figure the fish out more. I also still love spin fishing, but fly fishing feels very special. Great video!

      Thanks man, I appreciate it! I think we all have those days. It's so rewarding when you do figure it out, whether it be spinning or fly fishing. I am certainly looking forward to 20+ more years of fly angling.

    Great video, I started fly fishing about 3 years ago it’s addictive. Hard to tell in NC if fish are wild or stocked. Here in VA it’s pretty easy to tell, most stockers have short beat up fins.

      For sure! I always have a hard time especially when the fish looks clean. Thanks for tuning in! I hope to do some trout fishing in VA soon. I absolutely love it there.

    Beautiful fish that’s bigger than my biggest wild rainbow I’ve seen a even bigger brown trout a few miles up from where you caught the rainbow so I’m going to keep trying to catch that big one I’ve seen. Love your vids

    Good for you! Very few legal winter fly fishing opportunities here in Maine. Maybe a dozen in the whole State and those are all big rivers.

      @bankfishingtv  День назад

      Thank you! Had no idea Maine had strict fishing laws but I guess it makes sense. Maybe one day I'll make it up there and try it out!

      @@bankfishingtv I will say that they have come a long way. Used to be Apr 1st to Aug 15th, period. Then they started some fall fishing, catch and release mostly. Now in Southern Maine, lakes and ponds are open year round but not rivers, brooks and streams. They keep maybe 10 rivers open during the winter. I wish they would just close rivers during fall spawn and re-open them afterwards, if there intention is to protect spawning salmon/trout. Maybe some day. 😁

      Whew! That would be super tough for me! Long periods of closed water might would drive me a little crazy but if it's a conservation effort, I think I would be more okay with it. Hope you are able to find good fishing in the interim. Never fished for salmon, but sounds like tons of fun!

    Nice video. I’m glad to see the trout in western North Carolina survived hurricane Helene okay. The rainbow was definitely a broodstock rainbow , I’m not sure about the second brown but the last brown definitely looked like a wild trout or maybe a stocker that had been in the stream a long time.

      Same, Helene was rough on the fish. Feels good to see a few good ones. Thank you. I appreciate you tuning in!

    glad to see the resilience of the fish. I havent been up to that area to fish since Helene but im sure all the streams have been significantly altered. Looks like the channel to that stream has been completely shifted. Water dont play.

      You ain't kidding. Follow any creek/river and you will no doubt find areas that are pretty beat up/altered in some way. It's crazy how fast things changed in the scope of just a few hours.

      The purists can be retarted at times, I tie and fish random stuff all the time and they catch fish
