Watching y'all cutting trees brought back so many memories. My husband and I cut a few back in the day. My best story is about the Chinese Tallo we cut in the front yard. We knew it would fall in the street and we would have to clear it fast. Long story short, I was driving the truck we were using to pull the tree out of the way. He was tying off the rope. He yelled, "slow, slow...slow" but I thought he was saying "Go!" I drug the tree and him sitting on his butt underneath it half way down the street. He was ok. Later it was funny. When people ask how he has stayed married to me for 44 years he tells them "well she did try to kill me with a tree once." peace and love, y'all

A romaine lettuce plant , a cherry tomato plant , pepper plant , onions, carrots , cilantro . Jared is pretty good with plants . He would have some good tips for you . After you plant and while they are small maybe lay some wire fence over the top to keep the animals out . Cut a couple potatoes in half and plant and you will grow a potato plant . Bottom of a celery stalk also works !
I love that this video shows a lot of man-hours put into getting "free" wood. it really puts things into perspective. Anyone can get Free wood. Not everyone is willing to put the work in for it. I have nothing but admiration and respect for how you live your dream.

Woo. It was a good day... Congratulations to everyone on achieving their goals, shows what hard work and determination can do. Cedar planter is gorgeous, can't wait to see the greenery in there. Be sure to plant some Marigolds in there to help with the bugs 🐛.
Jason, you can also use patio tomatoes, as they do not take up as much room as other tomatoes. Another thing you all could really use is a chipper/shredder, to mulch up the branches and smaller limbs that are 2 inches and smaller. Also pass along to Alex and Jacob, if they want the trunks of those trees, to break down really quickly, drill a few holes in the top of the trunks, and put a tbsp of compost starter in those hose, and by next year, they will be broken down into compost. I learn that little trick 20 yrs ago. Blessings.

Jason, You might want to take a poll from your audience, asking if they would be seriously interested in purchasing prints of some of your beautiful phtography, that they can frame for their homes. Include some of your spectacular close up shots. You just might have a small gold mine. You can start with us viewers and if it proves fruitfull, you can expand the venture from there.

Good information on filling the raised bed. It took 4 bags of soil to fill up 6 flower pots and 3 laundry baskets that I put potatoes in. The yard here is very wet so I have to do pots or raised beds. First time I planted anything in 20 years.

You built your bed exactly how I built mine. Huglecultur on the bottom, manure/compost in the middle and garden soil on top. This is the best garden I have ever had. My plants have exploded. Throw some jalapenos in there too so you have a complete salsa garden...minus tomatoes, not enough sun for those.

Good evening Jason, I know you have had a lot of rain, I also know it's a pain to carry water up your very steep hill, I was thinking I had a very large pond and I use to use garden hose, a drill pump (lowes) that you attach to your drill, I use to use an old cheap drill no more carrying heavy buckets of water good luck... they are about $11.00 - $15.00
Glad you are starting a garden bed. I wish I had one. I have plenty of room on my 10 acres of property, but need money to build raised beds. But have too much medical debt to get that done right now.

I like your choices of plants to grow and not going with the clear on the porch Jason. I would add one more. Broccoli is very good for you. To cook, just boil it in water for about ten minutes. Dip it in your favorite ranch dressing and your good to go. Cilantro and jalapenos just and slices of steak (or chicken) and green salsa on corn tortillas... uh oh, I'm getting hungry.
