Thanks for addressing this question Steve. All life is carbon based and all carbon based life produces carbon dioxide one way or another. Vermicomposting is one of those but the benefits are real and sustainable. 20% of land fill is food based and any reduction in that is a 'win' and why 'waste waste' that can be repurposed at little or no cost at the 'end users' place of residence (or in a bigger facility etc). Keep up the great work and looking forwards to the next instalment..

The recycled fertilizer value also reduces the carbon footprint, artificial fertilizer is extremely carbon intensive.

Depends on what type of power you use but yea it is dirty as of yet mainly in the production of nitrogen

Increased amounts of CO2 increases plant growth which covers the soil and makes a cooling environment.

There is always respiration. The goal is to keep more Carbon in the ground than is coming out through respiration. That's why worm castings farms should never be larger than small 5 acre family operated farms. Anything larger and you can never overcome the respiration of the decaying mass. And...
In fact, layering worm castings at the right density over the surface of your land is how to properly create a carbon sequestering ecosystem. 3 years of consistent layering results in the foundation of every terrestrial ecosystem from the Amazon to the Arctic Tundra. Once complete the Rhizosphere is hardy enough to support the development of forested lands, permaculture, wild stock, or even to re-serve as rehabilitated industrial agriculture.
So no, Vermicomposting doesn't cause climate change. It's the silver bullet solution the entire human race needs to learn about, and fully support in every local small scale way possible. Vermicomposting at Industrial Scale however, will absolutely just make carbon levels rise.

This is a question not worth asking. We are carbon based life. We are warm blooded making it better for us if climate change was even real. I’m pretty sure it’s called weather.
