Nonononono, Dowon is not really dead, is she? Do we really just end her story with Cha unceremoniously like this? No emotion, no payback, nothing, just one "no" from Cha? No way. Also Doom? He had death flags all over him, but him dying like that after having his head pierced by an ancient spear and walking it off few moments later? Hell no. And.. is HUGO dead as well?! Okay, after my emotional damage rant, thanks for the long intro/outro, I didn't know about the hiatus and things around it, and it makes me pretty excited. Spin-off has great potential, but to be honest, I don't want to see Wangnan, because I want to actually see him in the main story soon. Also, you pretty much nailed everything in the intro, I agree with pretty much everything, even being devil's advocate, I think we can all agree on that, Bam was always jumping in power levels by huge leaps, just the s1->s2 jump was insane, so it is consistent, but it got out of hand recently. And comparing Branch Leaders with Yasratcha's army, that's a great point, they all got something, it was mostly to build up Yasratcha, sure, but they still got something. Branch Leaders got whole lot of nothing. Well, let me rephrase, some got at least something, but Gustang just erased them from the plot, like he does, and others had nothing. I mean, there is this cool looking blood angel lady Rashut, aaand she is gone. Few chapters later - turns out she probably had necromancy powers?! Why even tell us when you did nothing about her? Come on, a backstory for her would be so cool, how did she get her powers, how did she embrace it, how did others react.. I get that it would probably ruin Traumerei necromancy reveal, but man, that would be so cool even if it was vague enough to still get Traumerei reveal. And apart from that, all we know about the Branch Leaders is that they were ready to betray Traumerei and their animals. And that one of them had bikini and water guns. Also, where the hell is Widow? This chapter was kinda weird overall, we predicted Urek to smash anything that came into contact with him, smart for Proust to call to retreat, same with Revolution, it makes sense, even if they had something against Urek, they would just waste so many resources to even damage him it would be foolish, I don't really know what Luslec actually did, but I knew he would be an ass at some point, so probably just redirecting Urek onto FHs? And jesus you can't be real that Dowon's soul is being pulled by Traumerei. I just hope that the Boss saying they could've been consumed as well means that it consumes everyone weak enough, and Dowon is just weak at the moment and not dead. She was in mortal danger, not dead. Just no. Anyways, kinda looking forward to the hiatus, we got a lot of buffer for it, SIU can rest and prepare, even give us a spinoff, and it hopefully helps the quality, I wholeheartly believe it will. Also I love that it comes at a pretty great time for the screentime notes AND character poll? I am so curious for that and looking forward to it! Even disregarding the recency bias, I can imagine the poll being veery different this time. You made my day with all of this, even if the chapter was meh today, so thanks a lot!
Thank you for all of your comments. I always really appreciate them. I'm really hoping that Doom and Dowon aren't dead, because this is a really awful way to have that happen. There was so much wasted time and so many missed opportunities this arc. This could've absolutely been the best arc in the series if we had actually seen the members of both families get developed, along with the characters we already knew, and had fights between them. Instead, for some reason, SIU decided to take a very long time just to not develop the vast majority of the characters, and to only give us a few fights. Revolution leaving makes total sense, but I feel like some of the dialogue(Urek's character specifically) felt really off this week. I read the Korean comments after reading the chapter this week, and it seems like even in Korean, the biggest criticism was how odd the dialogue was(and Dowon's apparent death). The mistake of Lo Po Bia and Po Bidau getting mixed up was also in the actual Korean, not a translation mistake. Some of it actually made me start wondering how much is SIU and how much has been taken over by other people. It feels like SIU probably wouldn't make mistakes like that. Hopefully, with how overwhelmingly negative the reception has been, SIU can improve things after the hiatus like last time. Since we're already so behind, we might not even have to wait that long for at least some more info.
@@HakuOfTheTubes I can overlook Urek's dialogue because this is probably the first time, maybe ever, that he is getting actually serious. And with him, being in a place he doesn't want to be, dealing with a situation he doesn't like, seeing Traumerei's bs, Revolution opportunistically massacring people, and pretty much a genocide of two Great Families, I can imagine he is not in the mood for his usual banter and nicknames. But then again, it is Urek, this is probably not his first time seeing genocide, and absolutely the not first time experiencing injustice. It is kind of weird that he destroyed shipwonryu with a single hit that most of the people didn't even see, but didn't just blast Revolution the same way. But there is a lingering question why he is even there. I suspect that it has to do with Baek, after all, he was the one who told him about Revolution (and the Dump), maybe Urek has actual "orders" from Baek, even though it's hilarious to even suggest that he can be ordered by someone, lol. But yeah, now that you mention it, it doesn't really feel like Urek. I didn't really pay much attention to him to be honest, because this chapter overall felt like dialogue salad in a way, it was kinda weird. That mistake is strange, I mean, yeah, the names of the families are similar, but you are right, I doubt SIU would make that mistake, and you raise an important point in my opinion. We had some inconsistencies this season, after the hiatus, and SIU mentioned he used the hiatus to get a group of people to help him, and they might be involved much more than we thought. And that brings me to the incredibly long panels we had recently - maybe most of them are not even SIU's work. And I take that as actually a good thing, while the panels are usually very detailed and cool, they are a problem. And this might mean that SIU might take over a bit more, and hopefully reduce the amount of long panels and reserve them for spectacular moments, not every chapter where they mostly serve as a confusion. I think there has been a lot of criticism, I feel like korean fanbase focuses on different aspects more than we do. Still, I think the main points are the same, and I think even SIU himself feels like it is not what it could be, if he said that he would correct some things, but he just can't in this season. Maybe I am setting myself up for disappointment, but I can't help but feel optimistic about this development. And going by the chapter ratings, it should be easy for SIU to look at the things that didn't have great response, and look for criticism easily, and vice versa. Ending the season, even if not optimally as he would like, taking a break and also rethinking the approach is, I feel, the best possible thing right now. This is why constructive criticism is so important, and I hope SIU will take some time to look at it and use it as a tool to improve. (this is also why I don't feel like you are being negative when you criticise things, it's just authentic, and it's really important to highlight both the good and the bad. And you are doing a great job at this with your examples to create perspective, to the point I sometimes feel stunned while thinking about the contrast you bring up. And I love that, so keep it up, please!)
Bam being High Ranker level makes sense to me. Since its with Thorn boost that he becomes that strong. Bam is Ranker level in Season 3 without Thorn boost, hence I can see Bam being as strong as he is after so many other boosts. The Dumas thing was too much though.
