    Well, boys and girls, I can say I wished I watched after I accidentally ripped my cpu and cooler off of my computer.

    Method I've always used on every Ryzen system I've built has been to twist gently without running it. Never failed any Ryzen system I've ever service.

      I think the mx-5 paste gets stukkk

    • @Aquarius003
      @Aquarius003 Год назад

      @@CoilWhine I find it's worse when you use too much paste. A simple dab on most Ryzen's is good. Doesn't even need to be pea sized. The die is off to the side, so you should look at a delid video to get an idea of where the paste should go.

    I happened to do the same after switching Athlon 200GE to R5 2600. The fan came up with CPU after I pulled it out forcefully. Luckily the athlon cpu still have no problems at all. Definitely lesson learned 😅

    if I'm doing this on a built pc with the motherboard on the case, do I need to unplug all the connectors and leave just the ATX and CPU connectors? or is it fine to leave everything all connected? and is it going to be fine if I do this with the GPU uninstalled?

    • @Bishop1091
      @Bishop1091 4 месяца назад

      I would suggest unplug gpu and sata cables. sata cables is just incase windows boots up and you force shut down the pc one to many times then windows could crash, and the gpu is not that far below the cpu fan and accidents happen. 1 knock to the gpu could damage gpu or pci slot. I work in a computer repair store and with years of experience I know that computer parts don't always come out the same way. a few minites of extra work is much better then the cost of mistakes.

    I shorted out a DIMM channel by not doing the latter. I straightened the pins and the problem still occured. This video should be a PSA by CPU Cooler manufacturers to ensure future users don't have to deal with fhis problem.

      This is not with the cooler manufacturers it's with AMDs socket design. It does not properly hold or lock the CPU in it's place. The newer generations doesn't have this problem I guess. This happened to me 3 years ago and I ended up bending 2-3 pins I fixed it using a safety pin

    Happened to me yesterday. I used a hairdryer on the fins of the cooler and it came off

    Mine is ripped out and really welded to the cooler. Nothing helps...

    How do I get it to heat? I’ve been running my system for a while and it’s not heating. Reaaally don’t want to plug in kb mouse and monitor to run a benchmark
    Edit: also would a hair dryer work? The one I have is circular so I don’t really know if that’s a good idea

      If you have a hdmi touchscreen you can use that

    • @tzz1773
      @tzz1773 Год назад +2

      Heating shouldn't be a problem though because the cooler is off

  • @tallsz559
    @tallsz559 11 месяцев назад

    Or your could use a heat gun/blow dryer

    • @Bishop1091
      @Bishop1091 4 месяца назад

      The temperature needed to unstuck the heatsink could be dangerous to welded parts on the motherboard and some heat guns can melt plastic in les then 5 seconds. Id suggest let the cpu heat do the job

    What if i ripped my cpu with the cooler and straighten all my pins on the cpu and installed it once i cleaned my cooler fan but now i got a ddram light on? What would be my issue?

    • @CoilWhine
      @CoilWhine  Год назад +1

      one of your pins might not be making full contact. Look for any missing pins or bent ones.
