God led me to you today. I particularly loved the Luke/Acts review. I am leading a small-group bible study and we have just begun a study of Acts. God's timing is perfect!
At 42, I'll turned to god five weeks ago. I read some of genesis and never picked the Bible back up. I've been listening to derek prince videos. He's good at giving instructions, I've been repenting, surrendering and receiving. I woke up one morning and ecclesiastes was burning in my brain. So I read it, as I was finishing, I said to myself what am I suppose to read after this? Apostle John popped straight into my head. I love the overviews before I read the section

@@endofscene Each book in the New Testament conveys exactly what God wanted them to. In every aspect of Bible authorship, sometimes God spoke directly to the author, who simply recorded what they heard. At other times the author conducted much of his writings on interviews and research. At times they were eyewitnesses. Sometimes the Holy Spirit brought to mind the things Jesus taught. Regardless of the ways the words came to the authors, the words they put down were an extension of them, their personalities, skills, backgrounds and training. But they were the exact words God wanted them to write, because they are His words. Matthew writes his gospel to demonstrate Jesus is the Messiah. Peter passed his recounting to his attendant John Mark. In Mark the theme of this Gospel is to present and defend Jesus' universal call to discipleship. Luke writes his Gospel to highlight it is for all since Jesus is the promised one of God as prophesied in the OT and as seen in God's activity in Christ's life, death and resurrection. John - Jesus is the Son of God, all who believe have eternal life. John relies in his writing, the 7 miracles and I Am statements by Jesus, witnesses to Jesus, John the Baptist, and Jesus himself. Acts, written by Luke, is to give an early account of the church. The main theme is that the Holy Spirit empowers believers to declare the gospel among everyone. Paul writes the letters to the Roman's and its message that in the cross of Christ, God judges sin and at the same time, shows His saving mercy. Paul's first letter to the Corinthians encourages the church to overcome differences to advance the gospel. His second letter is about his suffering and the power of the Spirit in his apostolic life, ministry and message. His letter to the Galatians states that Christ's death has brought the age of the new covenant. Letter to the Ephesians covers Christ's reconciliation of all creation to himself and to God. Christ has united all people to himself and to one another in His church. Christian's must live as new people. In Philippians Paul writes to tell them to live as citizens of a heavenly city and to grow in their commitment to serve God. His letter to the Colossians the theme is about Jesus being Lord of all creation, including the invisible realm. In Paul's first letter to the Thessalonians the main theme is about Jesus Second Coming and the events that will take place. Those who believe will join him those who do not will experience God's Wrath. In his second letter to the Thessalonians it speaks on Jesus return will be preceded by an apostasy and appearance of the Antichrist. In the first letter to Timothy the themes are that the gospel leads to practical, visible change in Believers lives. In the second letter to Timothy, Paul gives Timothy a boiled clear call the continue the gospel despite suffering. In his letter to Titus Paul discusses the unbreakable link between faith and practice, belief and behavior. And his letter of Philemon it is about the power of the Gospel to transform individual lives and human relationships. In the letter to the Hebrews the theme is Jesus is greater than any Angel, priest, or old Covenant practice and Christians must not forsake the great salvation that Jesus brought about. The Book of James was written of course by Jesus's own brother, James. James tells Christians they must live out their faith and that they should be doors of God's words not just people that listen to God's word. In Peter's first letter he tells those that preserving Faith while suffering persecution should be full of Hope. In his second letter the theme is about God's grace and Christ truly transformed and empowers Christian to live righteously despite opposition to do so. This is his final letter to the churches and it reminds them by God's grace they should live in a way that is pleasing to God. In the first and second letters of John, he calls us back to the three basics of Christian life, true Doctrine, obedient living, and faithful devotion. In Jude's letter the theme is how The Church Must defend one true faith Believers must be faithful to The End by resisting false teachers and following the truth. The Book of Revelation written by John, unveils the Unseen spiritual war in which the church is engaged colon the cosmic conflict between God and His Christ on the one hand and Satan and his evil allies, both demonic and human, on the other side. It also tells the readers that Christ already triumphed through his sacrifice on the cross and further encourages us to avoid the pitfalls of this fallen world.

Yeah, I just found out that there are 3 books, plus the first one that talks about Jesus being The Word. I've studied the bible my whole life. This is definitely a Mandela, because I am confident that there were TWO, not 3.
Did Jesus call the 12 disciples who later became “the 12 Apostles “ or the many mostly unnamed followers/disciples… in the prologue? Excellent work! Thanks!
He didn't. John (Jonah) was a SUPER common Jewish name in the first century. Tradition associates this book with John the son of Zebedee (not the same person as John the Baptist, the son of Zechariah and Elizabeth).
Phil 2:5Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 2Tim 2:13If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself. 2Cor 13:5Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
"Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone, but if it dies, it bears much fruit." John 12 "Come to the light, so that you may become sons of light." Gospel of John 12 "Many of the rulers came to Jesus, but would not speak of it because of the Pharisees, fearing they would be banned from the synagogues, for they loved the approval of men." John 12
"He who does not honor the son does not honor the father who sent him. Truly, the one who hears my word, and believes the father, is life and light. Such a one does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life, out of darkness into light." John 5 "I can do nothing on my own initiative. As I hear, I judge. My judgment is just because I do not seek my own will, but the will of the father." John 5
"The one who loves is the one who loves the father, and to such a one the father will disclose himself." John 14 "The holy spirit teaches and causes you to remember." Gospel of John 14 "The father takes away every branch that does not bear fruit, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, so that it may bear more fruit." Gospel of John 15
"The parents of the blind boy said they did not know how their son came to see, for they were afraid of the Jews, who had already agreed to bar anyone from the synagogue who would confess Jesus as Christ." John 9 "For judgement I came into this world, so that those who do not see may see, and so that those who see may become blind. If you were blind, you would have no sin, but since you say 'we see,' your sin remains." John 9
I have the same struggle, Mia-the ancients would have had similar skepticism on that front. It seems the apostle's willingness to die as martyrs (without riches or worldly power) won enough people over for the story of Jesus' miracles to "stick" for so long.
@@OverviewBible Thanks. Yeah, I don't think I'll ever believe miracles happened physically as they're told, but I do think miracles happen in other ways. I have started reading John in the Bible itself, with a Christian helping me study it, and it is really beautifully written and poetic like you say. I want my expand and grow my spirituality, and feel closer to God, and I think this will really help. I'm so excited to finally explore this withouot anyone (my Muslim father) telling me it's wrong. :)

Yeah, I just found out that there are 3 books, plus the first one that talks about Jesus being The Word. I've studied the bible my whole life. This is definitely a Mandela, because I am confident that there were TWO, not 3.
Sounds more like you just skipped the table of contents. ;-)
Thank you! That was a great video, it really helped
Did Jesus call the 12 disciples who later became “the 12 Apostles “ or the many mostly unnamed followers/disciples… in the prologue? Excellent work! Thanks!
Thank you!
If John the Baptist dies (by beheading) before jesus died how did he write the book?
He didn't. John (Jonah) was a SUPER common Jewish name in the first century. Tradition associates this book with John the son of Zebedee (not the same person as John the Baptist, the son of Zechariah and Elizabeth).
nice and clear. learned a lot.
Great video. I love these. Thank you
I didnt see Acts. Then i noticed it was shoehorn in there. Next on the list. TY
I agree with everything you except one thing you have said that Jesus Christ died for them , Jesus Christ died for all sinners.
So the message is . Do you believe in Jesus. Thank you
Phil 2:5Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 2Tim 2:13If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself. 2Cor 13:5Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

"I can do nothing on my own initiative. As I hear, I judge. My judgment is just because I do not seek my own will, but the will of the father." John 5
Thanks for the good info!

WE NEEDED A SPOILER ALERT!
THANK U wonderful vdo.
Wow, I've learned more about the bible from this video than I ever have in 30 yrs lol. I struggle to believe that miracles could be performed.
I think regardless of whether these miracles are true or not, there is a lot that reading the Bible can do for my wellbeing. I want my expand and grow my spirituality, and feel closer to God, and I think this will really help. I'm so excited to finally explore this withouot anyone (my Muslim father) telling me it's wrong. :)
"He who is of God hears the words of God. For this reason you do not hear them, because you are not of God." John 8
"I honor my father, but you dishonor me. You speak of your God, my father, but you have not come to know him, but I know him, and keep his word. Before Abraham was born, I am." John 8
"While I am in the world, I am the light of the world."
Gospel of John 9
Excellent.
yes this was helpful
