Synopsis:
One of the most famous parks in the world, Hyde Park, is located in London's posh West End. Together with the adjacent Kensington Gardens, it forms the green lung of this metropolis of millions. The walk through the gardens begins with the cherry blossom in April. At Speaker's Corner in the north-east, carpenter Patrick McEvoy gets on a soapbox to share his views on the British economy. For almost 150 years, passionate debates on politics, philosophy and religion have been held here on Sundays. In summer, the route leads through fairy-tale meadow landscapes. The Serpentine Galleries are located at the heart of the gardens. Curator Amira Gad guides visitors through an exhibition by sculptor Duane Hanson, which invites them to an unexpected encounter with modern art in the middle of the park.
In the fall, the tour continues west to Kensington Gardens. In the adjoining district, estate agent Josh Grinling opens the doors of posh houses that are among the most expensive in London. The cinematic journey ends in winter, when the members of the Serpentine Swimming Club plunge into the icy waters of the artificial lake in Hyde Park. With extraordinary aerial shots and everyday encounters, the documentary offers a unique view of Hyde Park through the seasons.
