Today, we dive into some iconic and underappreciated entries in the Friday the 13th franchise. One of the most popular installments, Jason Lives, is often credited with converting many into horror fans. The debate over the best film in the series is fierce, with contenders like the original, The Final Chapter, and Jason Lives. However, when it comes to the least favored, particularly during the Paramount years, Jason Takes Manhattan often comes up. Additionally, we highlight the climactic scene from The New Blood, where the iconic slasher Jason Voorhees is outmatched by the telekinetic powers of heroine Tina.

Where-ever the red dot goes....YA BANG!
My favorite one mainly because the dialog lol
Uber Jason kicks ass!
Zombie Jason is my favorite he was just unstoppable. Jason lives, and the new blood are my favorite. My favorite sequel's in the franchise
Don't care what any1 says Cyborg Jason was awesome 😈👍
❤
His name is Uber-jason
@@Coffinhunter77 his name will always be Jason X
@@Coffinhunter77 👍

VII is a great one. It was fun to see Jason confused and angry by someone who can actually hurt him. VI is my favorite, the script is so much better than the rest, the tone is so much fun, and all the Universal film tributes made me so happy. I also like that there is no nudity. And that image of him on the RV like the introduction of John Wayne in STAGECOACH!
Friday 6 was my first Friday movie and started my love of slashers! And it’s clearly the best of the Friday movies!! Great video
Even when He's a body swapping parasite worm, Jason is still THE GOAT
JGTH sucks ass
Jason is not a zombie since he has cell regeneration and he preserves his conscious mind
Jasons body count is undefeated
I think Michael has that record now. Unless you're counting the space station casualties in Jason X. Even in that case I believe the invisible man has an even higher body count. It's all pretty muddy and I wish someone could provide a definitive answer to who has the biggest body count.
@@homegrownhomie4179 in the new Halloween timeline Michael has a amateur body count...Jasons timeline has remained solid lol
@@Charbear25 lol agree to disagree
you haven't met my ex
@@daaaaabearss omg lmfaoooo this comment is undefeated 😭
The look Jason gives after they pull the subway brakes and knock him over will always be funny
Zombie Jason is when he became fun. Manhattan has some deserved criticism, especially since 80% of the film is on that damn boat, then New Yorkanda...but it's a fun film. That intro is iconic, with that monologue and kick ass Metropolis song. I'm weird, but films like JTM made me wanna move to NYC, lol. I think if they were able to negotiate the rights, Jason vs Carrie would've been fun...but what we got was cool.
I don't care what anyone says, I love this campy film. Like you said it's fun. I watch it yearly during October to this day. Also it's my favorite rendition of Zombie Jason. That mask with Kane Hodder's excellent portrayal makes him very intimidating in this movie. And also we can't forget to mention the greatest F13th scene in history: the rooftop boxing scene.
If someone needs to wet their appetite for a Friday the 13th movies there are some good fan films. "Never Hike Alone", "Never Hike in the Snow", "Never Hike Alone 2" and "MICHAEL vs JASON: Evil Emerges"
Part 3 will be my favorite Friday the 13th film
Part 7 was butchered by the mpaa. Truly a shame
The Final Chapter will always be my favorite film of the franchise. It’s phenomenal and can defiantly be seen as a great end to the franchise and it was a great ending to the entire franchise for the 2 seconds Paramount meant it until it started making a lot of money at which point, they realized they should keep making more films in the franchise to keep the money coming in. Jason Lives is my second favorite film of the franchise. I enjoy it as a conclusion to the Tommy Jarvis trilogy that began with The Final Chapter, but I’ve always gone back to Part IV more than any other film in the franchise as I’ve always liked the characters in that film more than any other film in the franchise. Also Ted White did an excellent job as Jason Voorhees, but C.J. Graham was great as was Kane Hodder later on.
Not that it matters or that it’s still weighs on my brain lol but a few Friday nights ago on a live stream I lost out on a box set of Friday the 13th Blu-rays because I incorrectly named the number of people who played Jason. Even though in this movie, “Dan Bradly” Jason wasn’t credited for a triple decapitation, but I was told that that actor wasn’t technically credited, but I mean come on!!! the dude does one of the most infamous kills in the entire series.not that I’m bitter but maybe one day I will get my box set of Friday the 13th. Keep the great content coming. I love this stuff.
Tommy's friend is called Horace, NOT ALAN 👍
They need to bring back smth like New Blood Jason. With a different design it'd be so cool & goated but a more modern, & realistic look like back then. Best version of Zombie Jason & 2nd best version of Jason behind the remake.
everybody knows pt 6 is the best
No, 7.
Best plot
Best score
Best camerawork
Best acting
Best JASON!
Who cares if it wasn't as graphic, everything else was superior.
Just an overall better movie.
@@kiillabytezCarrie vs Jason? Hell no

@@MartyMcFly88 New Blood Jason is definitely the best & most enjoyable 😂 Jason goes to hell & Jason X tried to do what this movie did lol.
@@BlueprintGB-gz5qq the 2009 reboot has one of the best Jason portrayals
The best thing Jason does is hurl previous victims thru windows so he can scare the shit outta his next victim while also breaching/creating an access point. The man is an innovator.
Three birds, one stone.
Jason 7 was the first verses
Very nice compilation of the Paramount Zombie Jason era 😁 Great work!
I’ve never heard such inspirational stock music used for Jason footage 😂
Goddamnit! Yes, Bernie Lomax from “Weekend At Bernie’s”. All this damn time I’ve seen both movies numerous times & was like what other movie have I seen him in?
6, 4, and 3 are my faves.
My favorite Friday movie
I’m never hear this early. Zombie Jason is GOATED
This was just great! More of this pls! 🥰
Man, if not for Tommy Jarvis, a ton more people wouldn't be dead, lol
This is probably my favorite one of the 80s Fri. 13th. I remember watching it on spike tv as kid. Miss those early2000s days. I always remember the megans dad sheriff get bent backwards haha
7
Jason looked the BEST in 7-
Jason goes to hell design is awesome. Too bad we didn't get more of it.
At the risk of being a farthead, I want to note that Ron Palillo is not the only link to “Welcome Back Kotter in Jason Lives!” Tom Fridley, who played Cort, is John Travolta’s nephew.
Freddy Vs. Jason is one of my favorite movies of all time.
He was my first horror character as a kid. The fact they showed bobs was pretty based to a young man also, obviously
Bobs lol
No, Jason goes to hell? That also includes zombie Voorhees.
it's mostly him taking over other peoples bodies
@@MikeG82mostly…. Yes.
The abrupt narrator change in this video is ironic af 🤣 second dude almost put me to sleep
Great video
Thanks!
Jason takes Manhattan is one of my favorite ones
💥Thanks JoBlo 💥
Tina was the best. And she showed Jason his @$$
Throwing her behind the TV was classic petty Jason.
Undead Jason isn't a zombie, stop calling him that
I Feel That Part VII would have a Sailor Moon type fighting Jason Voorhees.
It's so saddening to not see Freddy or Jason up on the big screen for nearly 15 years each, for Jason it's rights issues for Freddy it's a casting problem as nobody can portray Freddy like Robert Englund, personally i think Freddy Vs Jason 2 should be made as a sendoff for both of them.
I always call Part 8 Jason Takes Vancouver as the outdoor scenes with the exception of Times Square were filmed in Vancouver LMAO
4>6>2>remake>3>FVJ>og>7>5>jason X>Jason goes to hell>8. Oddly i enjoy watching jason x and go to hell more than 5; 7 or og. Remake and 3 are most underated. My fav looking jason but the MPA killed that movie. Would be way higher.
Remake was dope. Hunter Jason was a bad ass
Full horror icon mode for these movies.
3, 5, and 7 my favorites
Hmm…I’m going to have to try watching F13th VI in black and white. Those samples you showed are really impressive.
Revenant is more accurate than zombie when describing Jason.
Jason Goes to Hell is maybe the worst of the franchise but the look of Jason (before getting blown up) is maybe the best ever
Jason 6 is so f*cking great. My favorite slasher and Jason film!
Jason goes to hell was the worst.
But It's Fun🤩&🆒😎.
1-7 Paramount year's are best...8,9,10 and 11 are take em or leave em...12 aka remake is good also...
Everyone knows Baghead Jason is the GOAT.
Awesome 💯❤️🔥☑️🤘
6 and 7 are my favorites
The reason Tommy lured Jason into the lake is because he was under the impression that Jason was a revenant and the only way to stop a revenant is return them to their original resting place. Unfortunately for Tommy the lake wasn't Jason's original resting place because he didn't drown as a kid. He grew up alone in a makeshift shack in the woods. Jason didn't die until Tommy buried that machete in the side of his head. Jason's original resting place was the grave Tommy dug him out of.
They should’ve taken a train to Manhattan. Taking a ship was a stupid fn idea.
Jason Lives is the best solo Jason Voorhees film. Idc what anyone else says, 6 is the top.
I grew up with zombie Jason so he’ll always be my favorite because of that. I also think I’m the only person that actually likes Jason Goes To Hell
Part 3 was awesome simply because he first put on the mask..but i csnt find the clip of it anywhere
This was just pointed out to me and now I am wondering why they never used this as a marketing tool for the Friday the 13th Movies.

Why didn't they claim this as JASON SEASON!!! So much marketing that could be done with this!!! And how did I miss this for 40 years??? Hmmmf

I love that part 6 is the first and only one with kids at the summer camp.
Also, part 7, rotting zombie Jason is the best
Idc what anyone says I love Pt 8 👍
If part 2 and 3 take place back to back days, how did jason mess with chris out in the woods wearing his gear he got from the shopkeeper off the clothes line, then going back to the overalls and sack on his head with the long hair.
Jason from a new blood is the best Jason ever . Period . No debate because it’s fact 🤣🤣🤣
The best IMHO is 7,5,6 in that order.
New blood is still a great movie
What happened to final girls and villains video?
RUclips copyright fight. Will be back up next week
Friday's 1,2,3,4,6,7,9 And Freddy Vs Jason Are My All Time Favorites But As For Friday 8 Goes The Two Good Things That Came Out Of That Movie Is Julis Getting His Head Knocked Off By Jason And The Song Darkest Side Of The Night By Metropolis.
Jason Lives is the best one because it embraces how silly the whole series is
I recorded Jason lives on VHS when I was a kid. I watched the shit out of that movie. Best in the series!!! 🎉
The court stuff is finished already ??
To be honest part of the charm of Friday the 13th is the stupid sequels.
🖤
I think that Part 7 should have been the last Friday movie ? After that they went silly not scary. xx
I'm old enough to remember when Jason Lives was the black sheep of the franchise. People didn't like that it was over-the-top, didn't like that it was "unrealistic" since he returned from the grave, didn't like the light comedy bits, it was largely panned for years by a segment of the fandom. Such as it were.
Years later seeing people come around to Jason Lives has been gratifying. Personally, this one has been my absolute favorite since the day I saw it in the cinema all those years ago. Great great fun. All the things people said made it bad were the things l liked about it the most.
But yeah, all the undead Jason movies are fun (except 9, obviously). And even 9 isn't bad, it's just not a Friday movie. There's a lot to like there if it were in its own movie. I liked Creighton Duke, I like the idea of a body swapping demon, I like the idea of a killer who leaps from person to person and the tension that you can do with that. Look at Fallen with Denzel, it's one of his best movies and that is the basic premise. There's a lot there that would have been good if it weren't shoehorned in to a Jason movie. I like Adam Marcus, I just think he got too excited about trying to fanfic Jason into the Evil Dead mythos with Jason Goes To Hell.
I never saw it panned much
This really is where the series becomes whacky
Love Part VI, but I hate police brutality.
The lake it’s not stupid the lake is fire 🔥
Part 5 felt like porn because they hired a porn director. But even though I'm not a fan of nudity, I thoroughly enjoyed it. My three favorite Fridays are parts 6, 7 and 5; in that order.
The zombie Jason movies get a lot of undeserved hate. Yes, they are hardly the pinnacle of horror film storytelling, but they are FUN, and that’s what matters to me.
Lil Tweens think "body count" means sex partners 🤣🤣🤣
I've never liked the face reveals. His face is the hockey mask
It appears only you, and one other agree.
@@kiillabytez cool
wait, how is a character with telekinesis considered jumping the shark? is it really that strange for someone else besides Jason to have super powers? He was resurrected by lightning and the previous film, and then stayed alive while he was held under water in captivity by a chain in boulder. Someone having Carrie powers really doesn't seem out of place. Especially since the film was meant to be Jason versus a dream demon. Come on, jumping the shark? really?? REALLY??
Jason got too many breaks in his franchise; Hodder always played Jason with rhythm and grace the others didn't have.
Meh....For me it is tarnished by the fact that the movies Hodder is in are arguably the 4 worst ones (well 3 and 1/2 since he wasn't the only one playing Jason in part 8) in the series. Parts 2 - 6 are the best for me. I know it's likely not Hodder's fault, but I feel he came too late to the party. If he had been in the earlier movies I likely would have a different outlook.
Imho, 7 and X are the best.
The New Blood is absolutely the best film in the series. Fight me.
The Paramount Pictures and NewLine films are not canon with each other. Hell, I like to think the Reboot is a prequel to Freddy vs Jason.
Wait...if they're not cannon to each other, why did they carry things over, and why call the 10th one Jason 10? Or what did you think the "X" stood for?
@@karl_alan did they? The producers called it Jason X because they couldn’t use the Friday the 13th name.
@@hitmanmonaghan6633 yeah, that is why they said Jason instead of Friday the 13th, but you're kinda skipping over my point or trolling...what i meant is the x part of the title is because x is the Roman numeral for 10, and in that era it was super common to use Roman numerals for sequel numbers.
@@karl_alan you are correct. X is for the 10th entry and cause in the 2000's X sounded cooler than saying 10...haha. Not sure where the OP got the idea the Paramount films weren't cannon.
Jason Lives isn’t the most praised. That goes to The Final Chapter, but I would say Jason Lives is the second most popular. Also, in my opinion JGTH is the worst movie. JTM is second worst.
