My friend brought her Dyson over and when she was finished my rug looked like it had just been shampooed. I was sold. Bought my Dyson animal 3 today and love it. Your assembly instructions were excellent. Thank you again!💯🙌🏽👍🏽
My parents bought me a Dyson when my son was born 22 years ago. It's been through a lot but still picks up a ton of stuff. Held together in places with duct tape 😊 the plastic breaks down after that many years and raising a boy. My son just bought me this model for Christmas.
Bought this yesterday and am returning it. While it vacuums well it’s a pain to maneuver and is frustrating to use. The wand housing is flimsy as well. I love the one I bought 11 yrs ago. I can whip around my house with that one and take out and put back the wand super easy. Dyson completely messed up with this new vacuum
This is our third Dyson so I didn't need your video for assembly but as it cost $500 it was useful as a reference as the included directions are in very small print. We have 2 large German Shepherds, shedding is a major issue and NO VACUUM IS BETTER . The new cleaning head which is designed to avoid buildup within makes it better. Thanks for the video so I could double check my assembly, well done.

This isn’t a negative this is me wishing how to video’s would slow down and realize you’re teaching to someone who has never done this. Thanks for the video

We just received ours (1st Dyson vacuum) and I got the vac head on easily but the wand/hose instructions threw me off. I REALLY hope o haven’t messed ours up because I pushed the wand too far into the hose (I never heard a click). They need to remember that some of us have never owned a Dyson vacuum & make the instructions a lil bit clearer lol. Thanks for the video, it really helped clear up how I’m supposed to install the wand!🤩
We were having trouble putting the cleaner head on. Your video made it so clear. The only thing we could not do is move the wheels back. Ours would not move so we lifted the vacuum off the floor and got everything set. I wonder what we were doing wrong. Your wheels seemed to move back easily. Thanks for the help.
I'm curious, as a vac tech have you encountered the lower hose issue on the Kenmore Upright Intuition Bagged Vacuum? I adore the vacuum but I've had to crap out on me in less than six months. The small hose that connects the beater bar area to the vacuum completely splits open in the middle. It's devastating.
So glad to see you back with some new videos!! It’s funny that dyson finally brought this to the states as it’s been available for years across the pond. I like my small ball with the direct drive head but it definitely needs the gates on the floor head like they have with this head. Great video and can’t wait to see more!!
Thanks for this - I've never owned a Dyson before and the instructions left a lot unclear. The diagrams only include half the steps - I was left with way-too long a wand and no clue what order to snap into place or where.
The pet groom tool is the only Dyson attachment made for specifically grooming and grabbing loose hair off of pets. The tangle-free turbine tool is great for getting pet hair off of furniture, stairs, and cleaning the car. Hope this helps!
To attach the sweeper head, after pushing the wheels back, whats the part you have to move up before lining up the heads and clicking in place. Sorry, I didn't quite see it (vision problems). Thanks
@@esampson2369 that piece is what the cleaner head connects to, the suction channel. It’s just easier to connect if you move it up. The cleaner head connects to it from underneath, and pushes up into it. You’ll hear it click and lock into place. I hope that helps!
I was waiting for somebody to buy one of these! I looked at a few stores in my area and they did not seem to have them yet. I like that they redesigned the head, especially since the old one was notorious for failing, not great on thick carpet, and not nearly as easy for the user to service. I am a little sad to see that they did not change the hose access like the one the UK gets, but nonetheless, the head alone is a major improvement.
I wonder if we'll get the upgraded hose/wand on an upcoming model (I'd like to try it, it looks better). There's room for improvement on the tools, and many older Dyson upright setups were superior.

I guess I will have to contact Dyson. I hope it's going to work great. Going to look for your review of it. Thank you. Thank you again or I would have never got this together! They definitely need better instructions or a link to a video we can watch. Like yours 🙂
@@allisonhay8760 this style no longer has that c-clip. That was on the previous-gen models. Even on those, the nozzle just presses on (with the c-clip already attached to the ball), but you also have to line up the plastic connector at the top where the swivel electrical connection from the ball and nozzle meet (it swivels back and forth on the front of the ball). I hope this helps! My Dyson Slim Ball review video shows how that nozzle setup assembles.
@VacTech1 thanks - my animal ball 3 came with a c-clip, and included attaching it in the instructions, but there is no where to put it, so I didn't. Lately, the floor attachment is coming disconnected from the ball sometimes when I vaccuum carpet, and I am looking for a reason why. C-clip is not the answer. I'm trying to thoroughly troubleshoot before having to ship it off for service. (Customer service at Dyson didn't know that the C-clip doesn't belong on this model).
Thank you for showing how the wand fits in the hose! That was really stumping me. Other assembly videos didn't show this all or their entire vacuum didn't fit on the video screen. Ugh
Just assembled neighbors and I gotta say the plastic and connectors feel thin and cheap- this model is recommended by consumer reports though- however the Shark Stratos tested better and is built more sturdy and weighs the same- also you can catch it on sale somewhere for $350.00 - great for pets
Also shark professional nv360 was rated a Best Buy for$150.00 - does not have same roller feature as the Dyson- but excellent on carpet hardwood and pet hair

I now have the 3 and the 2 -- I find the 3 very hard to push on medium pile carpet, even with the machine on the high pile setting. It definitely generates more suction, but I am unclear as to whether it cleans any better than the 2. The 2 has longer bristles which would seem to agitate the carpet more.
They have different versions of this machine, which include different tools, but the vacuums themselves are identical. I'm not surprised they removed some of the graphics to save money.
Really interesting seeing them going back on their word. I guess they never said they would be "stopping development" forever. Maybe it was just to test the waters, but whatever the case, it is nice to see them making another solid corded machine. I'm a fan of this style of Dyson upright.
@@VacTech1 which this is developing a new model. They said they would continue to make the same corded models, but not design any new models. So they did to against their words.
I wouldn’t call a Dyson a solid machine lol. They did it because Shark sell a load of uprights. In the UK, the top selling upright is Shark. Their cordless does very well too. A quality solid upright is SEBO.

@@AnneQuint-teacher yeah sounds like those little pieces are the clip assembly that hold the handle in place. They probably just need popped back in, but there could be another issue if they’re not already installed.
With Dyson uprights, you’ll want to start at the bottom of the stairs, and work your way up. The bottom stair will hold the Dyson in place as you clean. I’ve noticed this Dyson has strong suction, and can really fight you when trying to stretch the hose, even more than the older models.
I have a v11 absolute and the thing sucks!!! I live in a huge farmhouse and it just doesn't pick up anything enough without it clogging and then it fell and I broke the main body! no such luck with Dyson lol. Im really looking at this one for what I need!🤞🤞🤞
Wow it is hard for me to push on a rug but it is amazing on picking up my cat’s hair. I came here because the cleaner head kept falling off, but I never heard that snap sure the way you said to move the wheels up. I’m gonna try that now and see how that works. I dislike those little paper drawings that are your only instructions. I am much better at the visual like you’re showing.
I’ve owned mine for a few days and put my unboxing video uo not too long ago and so far I like the machine. Only main complaint is I can only use it on the high like carpet setting across all my carpets and rugs because otherwise, the machine is wayyy too hard to push. But that is due to the extreme high suction and airflow of the machine. I will out out my review of it fairly soon as well so im interested to see what your final thoughts are.
I really wish Dyson had given the US the UK version of what we call Animal Ball 2 or now they have changed the name of it again, but it gets a nice stronger plastic construction and it’s thicker back spine and also an aluminium wand, it really does feel so much better than Dysons like this one with the thin bendy plastic. I hate how fragile it feels and the way the body ‘bends’ when turning corners. Seen some of these broken, sorry to say, but a Shark feels more sturdier in use and SEBO feels 100% better than this type of Dyson. Thanks for your video.
Sebo do feel solid, but they actually wear out quicker than you might think. My felix handle is really loose now and the button to switch off the ET1 power head jams constantly and is really difficult to press. The hose on the sebos are notoriously poor as well. When you don’t engineer tolerances in joints and moving parts, they wear out. Then you have to juggle durability with ease of use and weight. Dysons are made from mainly polycarbonate as opposed to ABS like Sebo and Miele; the former being more expensive but more durable.
You just recline the handle back, and the wheels pop up so you can push it around on the ball. When putting it back upright, you have to firmly press the handle forward (into the upright position), and the wheels will drop back down and lock into place. Hope this helps!
Strange! The wand has to be lined up correctly so it nests into and aligns with the handle. Otherwise there could be something in the hose, preventing it from nesting all the way. If you continue to have issues, I would contact Dyson, and they'll figure out a solution for you.
Anyone else notice no matter what u do the cord will fall off while vacuuming? If u have half the cord un done the rest falls off no matter what’ seems like the l shape hooks the cord wraps around arent tall enough so the cord slips right off… Anyone else notice that?
@@Matias-sc2or they make an easier to push cleaner head. I would contact Dyson and see if yours already has it. That’s my biggest complaint with this machine as well.
Pretty much! Main differences are that ours will have more suction (no wattage limits by law), ours is louder, and it has the newly updated tangle-free cleaner head. I hope we get the updated hose/wand too.
@@dyson1244 no you are right, it’s been out for that long. Though I think the tangle free head is a relatively new add-on. ibasiac has a great video demonstrating the UK Animal Ball 2. I’m still jealous we didn’t get the new wand and even the ball filter the UK animal ball 2 has. I swear I thought the animal ball 3 came with the new ball filter but it’s still the same one as before because the one I bought has the same old version ball filter. The reason I say this is because the animal ball 3 box (which isn’t a plain box) shows the filter from the uk version on the photos/diagrams on the box. Also it appears the animal ball 3 extra comes in both a plain and regular box as I saw a plain one in bed bath and beyond but I saw a normal one with the nice designs at Target.
Seems like a cheap re-engineering solution to push out a new model. Perhaps because they want to stop making the old-style cleaner heads. I'd imagine this will go-on for sometime until uprights are no longer in consumer demand - may never happen. New features (e.g. anti-tangle) get developed for the cordless models first, and then if you're lucky then they'll make their way into the uprights that the interns presumably now design. Clearly someone's decided that it's not worth the resource to add self-cleaning bin / laser / etc.
Thank you for making sense of how the various parts are supposed to be aligned, and clearly showing how to tell when a part is locked securely in place or misaligned.

This vacuum works great!!!
We bought one of these and it won't suck through the floor part only the wand.
Definitely like the new head but if I had to get a new dyson I’d get the ball animal 2 as it’s easier to push on thinner carpet.
Do you have a comparison for the animal 3 vs Shark vertex duoclean az2002?
Thank you so much ❤
Glad it was helpful!
When brush roll becomes full of hair, and it will regardless what they say, good luck taking it apart.
Just bought mine today
Wow it is hard for me to push on a rug but it is amazing on picking up my cat’s hair. I came here because the cleaner head kept falling off, but I never heard that snap sure the way you said to move the wheels up. I’m gonna try that now and see how that works. I dislike those little paper drawings that are your only instructions. I am much better at the visual like you’re showing.
Does this vacuum pick up cat litter?
Thank you!!
This was helpful for my mom 😂
Gotta take care of Mom, right? Glad I could help!
Where did you get your danby dwm17wdm and can you still get it today
I bought it on Craigslist, and it's no longer being sold new.
Got one and the main vaccum hose doesn't line up so all I get is the wand....
I would call Dyson if you’re having issues getting the wand to nest properly inside the hose. It has to line up just so. I hope you can get it set up!
It looks like
a3 has 28% more Suction Power (290AW) than a2 (227AW),
while a2 has a 22% wider motorized cleaner head than a3.
Looking at them next 2 each other the head on old ones looks funny and way to big’
The new head fits the look better
I’ve owned mine for a few days and put my unboxing video uo not too long ago and so far I like the machine. Only main complaint is I can only use it on the high like carpet setting across all my carpets and rugs because otherwise, the machine is wayyy too hard to push. But that is due to the extreme high suction and airflow of the machine. I will out out my review of it fairly soon as well so im interested to see what your final thoughts are.
I find I have to use the "deep pile" setting on my standard plush carpeting as well.
I feel like they came a little late with this upright in the US nice review man
Thanks!
Thank u very helpful
Thanks, glad it was helpful!
How does it lower
You just recline the handle back, and the wheels pop up so you can push it around on the ball. When putting it back upright, you have to firmly press the handle forward (into the upright position), and the wheels will drop back down and lock into place. Hope this helps!
Thanks man
My “backbone” as you called it, will NOT properly sit in the hose. This is so annoying. It needs to go a little further down but wont go
Strange! The wand has to be lined up correctly so it nests into and aligns with the handle. Otherwise there could be something in the hose, preventing it from nesting all the way. If you continue to have issues, I would contact Dyson, and they'll figure out a solution for you.
@@VacTech1 I am having the same issue. Very frustrating.
Thanks
Thanks 🙏
Thanks!
Anyone else notice no matter what u do the cord will fall off while vacuuming? If u have half the cord un done the rest falls off no matter what’ seems like the l shape hooks the cord wraps around arent tall enough so the cord slips right off…
Anyone else notice that?
This doesn’t help me put my hose back in the vacuum
It's so so hard to push this thing. You have to have strong arms and back to push it.
@@Matias-sc2or they make an easier to push cleaner head. I would contact Dyson and see if yours already has it. That’s my biggest complaint with this machine as well.
Thx
It looks....disproportionate like the head is so small compared to the body of the machine. Cool that they finally brought the design over though.
I would prefer if the cleaner head was wider.
I for the life of me can’t get the head to attach wtf I’m ready to return it
It interlocks with the nozzle on the front of the ball. It needs to be slid down into place, and it will click and lock. Hope you can get it working!
@@VacTech1 I got it. Was just hard to get it lined up
I just got mine from Amazon it has a gray switch not red so beware buyers of Amazon you get gray least if u don't get the extra or complete
I bet it has the usual faulty power switch.
Pov you have had this since 2017 because you live in the UK
Pretty much! Main differences are that ours will have more suction (no wattage limits by law), ours is louder, and it has the newly updated tangle-free cleaner head. I hope we get the updated hose/wand too.
We also have had the tangle free head for over a year and you lot don’t have what age limits that is not fair
@@dyson1244 I thought the tangle-free head just launched in the UK on their 2022 corded models?
Well I am I’ve been a bit exaggerating but we’ve had it for 3 4 months
