LOVE YOUR TUTES! I bought a VERY expensive Photoshop program a few years back, paid hundreds of dollars, and never used it as it was so complicated. Then I happened onto Gimp a few days back and headed to RUclips for the tutes. I found yours to be one of the easiet and clearest and now I am excited to use Gimp. THANK YOU so much for sharing!

I really hate all of the negative comments left for people's videos on You Tube. Someone took the time to share their knowledge with others. If there was hate speech or the like I could see the negative comments. People really need to step out of their "perfection" and remember that if you don't have anything nice to say then shut your trap!
All I have to say is THANK YOU for taking the time to try and help beginners. Blessings to you.

Your vids on GIMP are the best I have found on RUclips. Your voice is pleasant to listen to. The demo is thorough yet concise. Thanks for sharing....... An improvement would be to stop using "and" as verbal filler. This last comment is not intended to hurt your feelings. I apologize if I offended you. (*_*)

Thanks for the intro video! I've been a Photoshop user for years. Recently I have moved to a Linux distro for web development (makes coding and such much easier) and need an alternative. GIMP seems to be the open source alternative. There is a learning curve that I am getting over, but these videos help! Thanks again!
And to all viewers wondering whether or not Photoshop is "better" than GIMP, it really depends on the user. If you are learning either of these for the first time, it doesn't matter. They both have a learning curve. If money is a factor, then GIMP for sure. MONEY is typically the answer here. If you're going to pay for or pirate Photoshop, then Photoshop. Making the same image in this video would take less steps and you can copy layer styling (like drop shadows) to use on another layer. You do not have to dedicate a whole layer to drop shadows and other filters.
    Happy Editing!

I use both photoshop and Gimp on a regular basis, there is nothing I can do in one that I cannot do in the other.
Gimp has more fancy tools for doing stuff like randomly generating stars or textures, but you can probably pay extra and get the same tools for photoshop.

Such a pleasant voice and lovely accent. I learned a lot, you are a great teacher. Don't worry about the haters! They find something to complain about, no matter what you do or don't do. I actually feel sorry for them. I can only imagine, how awful their daily existence must be...filled with hate and negativity, to the point where it spills over in negative actions and words towards others...just to get a little release from what's bundled up inside of them.

Very good entry level demo Where I needed to start. I've been learning embroidery digitizing, Vinyl and rhinestone designing and now this for sublimation. All in the past 6 months. I've paid around $1500 for software and I am surprised how much this one will do....for free ! I have no complaints.

But Photoshop costs more and GIMP is free
You might ask why can't you just buy Photoshop?
Because some people don't have enough money or they are too lazy to buy it or they are too young (14-15) to buy it.
      And I have a question.
Why did you just go on this tutorial and say Photoshop is better?
If it's better just go on Photoshop and work on it.
Instead of going on here and trying to tell poor people to get Photoshop.
      Bitch.

      Alex Peek
Sorry. By poor I mean, people who don't have enough money to buy anything that's too big (like the ps3/ps4 or apple products).
And "faggot", I'm not gay, you just have nothing to say to insult me.
And by the way, I'm not British. I don't use pounds. And I do not know the equality of pounds to US currency.
So first of all, I'm not gay, by poor I mean the people who can't buy expensive shit, and I'm an American.
Stop acting like the real smart ass and go fuck a dolphin then drown in a puddle.
