Blew out our first prep machine whilecleaning and always dreaded doing it since. Following these instructions after a year in the attic ready for new baby arriving soon. Much better than the official videos and a great help 😉
Aww amazing, so glad it worked out for you. I read so many people say their machines blew out in the comments of the original video and it really made me worry about putting hot water into the tank but thankfully, this method has always worked out for me so I'm glad to be able to share.
We haven't used ours since 2020, that sound brought back some memories!
😂 I feel like I hear this in my sleep lol. Will probably haunt me in years to come lol. A reminder if those sleepless nights 🙈
As a first time mum this has helped me so much x
Aww so glad to hear it ☺️
Other videos are so confusing but youve made it easy for me. Thanks
Aww amazing, glad to hear it ☺️
Thank you! This video was better than the official TT video!
😁😁 Thank you!!
Amazing vid super well explained! How often should we do this if using the machine daily?
Just heard once a month as I typed it 😂
Hehe, try to mention everything in the video.
Such a very helpful and straightforward video thank you
Aww thanks ☺️
Great vid, easy to follow! Thanks 😃
You’re welcome 😊
Great info as usual, I didn't even know this machine existed, thanks for the information, appreciate all the effort you put in.
Aww no problem!! It's and amazing little machine!! Hehe
Thank you so much for your video. Badly needed. Can I use the milton sterilizing fluid? and how many ml should I pour in? Thank you
Hi, yes of course. I am not sure how many ml of fluid you need for 5ltrs of water but 1 tablet is for 5ltrs of water and I used half of a tablet so maybe use half the amount of fluid you need for 5ltrs...hope that makes sense.
Cheers for this! Really helpful 😊
Aww, no worries ☺️
Please don’t use boiling hot water as I did this and it blew out my machine
Thank you, I read a few people comment this on the Tommee tippee video (as that’s how they recommend you clean it). I was really nervous to try it but I’ve had no issues and if that’s what they recommend then it must be fine. Not sure why some people’s have blown though 🤷🏻♀️.
@@RuksanaAhmedme too! Didn't blow out my machine either
Update: mine did. A day after this comment. Tommee tippee were contacted and they sent over another machine
Oh no!! So sorry to hear this. Did they give you any advice on why that would happen when hot seater to clean/descale is what they suggest?
👍
☺️
Hi are pre machine worth having? I never used 1 with my first 2 are they expensive in the long run?
Yes, it was definitely worth it. We got ours for £20 on facebook market place and it's going strong, planning to keep it for baby #2. Yeah, may be a little expensive to run but so is the kettle. At least, this way we haven't had to go downstairs wait for the kettle, wait for the milk to heat up/cool we can just make it in 3 mins whilst never leaving the bedroom.
I got given the better one it was a life saver!! No waiting for the kettle to boil, no screaming while waiting for it to cool down. A quick hot shot and it fills the rest quick. Theres alot of negativity about it with it not being hot enough for the bacteria in the formula but my girls completely fine
Exactly, so much benefits to it and I think if you regularly change the filter and sterilise it, I even descale it often then it should be safe. My boys always been fine with his. I suppose another way round it would be to keep a flask of hot water and some cooled boiling water and mix. It’ll take some time getting the ratios right but it’s not hard
@@RuksanaAhmedhi sorry I don't understand the ways around it. Are you talking instead of using the machine?
Instead of using the machine you can use a flask with boiling water or just use boiling water straight from the kettle (wait 30mins after boiling to use it though) and keep a cooled boiled water in the fridge. When you baby wants instant milk you can use the water in the flask/kettle as your hot shot to mix with the powder and kill the bacteria and then top up with the cooled boiled water from the fridge to cool it down to the right temperature, ready for baby to drink immediately.
For 4 ounces I used to do 2 ounces of boiling water, mix with powder and then measure 2 ounces (with another bottle) of cooled boiled water from the fridge, mix it into the hot water and formula and shake. I found that was a safe temperature for baby.
Do you have to wait the second clean for the machine to cool down or not?
No, you can go straight in with the second clean.
I keep seeing things about black mould in prep machines. No I'm paranoid mine has. Will this clean that and get rid of it??x
Hi, this will clean the machine and can prevent a build up of mould but I also descale the machine every few months which will really help keep it mould free. I still need to make a video on that but it’s not something you need to do unless the machine asks.
You can always unscrew the back of the machine and look at the pipes before using it to make sure it is clean.
@@RuksanaAhmedyes my heath visitor was stating this problem with mould up.
I think that is what has caused a lot to controversy around people using the machine but if you look after it well and check the pipes then you should be fine. I have all the videos up on how to clean and descale the machine, you might want to give them a watch ☺️
Its easy to remove the back of the unit and check for mould growth. Ive never seen any in mine.
Salam
Just want to ask when you going to apply his indefinite visa? Actually in June i want to apply mine
I’ll be applying in August so you won’t see the videos on that
How often do you empty the water and change the water?
I used to empty and change the water once a day, (just press the empty tank button and fill the tank back up).
I used to clean and sterilise the machine once a month (what I’m showing you this video) and I used to descale it every 4-6 months but you only need to descale it when it asks. A video I have yet to film xx
Hi i used this method but still see bits of sterilising tablet in the hot shot . Any advice how to fix that?
I'd say keep rinsing until it's gone. Is it definitely Milton tablet or could it be limescale?
Hi, I agree with the previous comment. I’d run a third rinse cycle but if it’s still not going there then maybe you should dry descaling the machine. I’ve actually posted a video on how to do that today
ruclips.net/video/zB4WoJ1H5JA/видео.html
Congrats to both of you again. Sorry to ask you on this video but my wife is on same visa as your husband (spouse visa brp card) with indian passport. Which countries have you been on holiday to where you have got tourist visa on arrival for your husband. We are planning dubai but looking at other countries too. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you ☺️!!
We’ve been to:
- Maldives (no visa required before hand. I can’t remember if they gave us one whilst there but don’t think so).
- Turkey (got online visas before travel - came into our emails within seconds of applying).
- France (we applied for a shengen visa before we went). I made a video on the Schengen visa for when we applied to Greece ruclips.net/video/hCQqCbAaUWs/видео.html. It was successful but the visa came late due to bank holiday weekend so my husband couldn’t go as he’d missed the flights.
All countries will have a different list of countries that they either need visas for, will get one on entry or won’t need one at all. You should check online for those with an Indian passport as it can be a little different to a Bangladeshi one.
@@RuksanaAhmed hey thank you so much for coming back to me. Which website did you use to go for turkey.
My wifes brp says leave to remain and she has indian passport so wondering if evisa for turkey is possible
If you could provide the turkey evisa guidance site i would be most grateful. Thank you.
Hi Sanjay, sorry for the late reply but I am only just seeing this message. You are better off posting a new comment then replying to an old one cuz I don't always see them. This website has a list of nationalities and whether they need a eVisa for Turkey or not, if they do there is a link to where they can get that eVisa from www.mfa.gov.tr/visa-information-for-foreigners.en.mfa
Can i use without filter to cook for a child?
I'm not sure if it will dispense water withouth a filter. The filter will make sure the water is clean and safe for baby to consume, I wouldn't recommend you use it without the filter.
How often do you clean it
Once a month
Yes, I clean it once a month and then I normally descale it every 4 months even though the light doesn't come up.
I can't find where in the manual it says to use sterilising tabs?
You can sterilise the machine using white vinegar or cold water sterilisation using sterilising tablets/liquid. This is an official Tommee tippee website. Look at the "How to clean section after point 10. www.tommeetippee.co.nz/product-support/bottle-preparation/perfect-prep-machine#:~:text=Regular%20Cleaning%20Advice,a%20period%20of%207%20days.
Thank you :) @@RuksanaAhmed
Hello I done this and then the machine didn’t do the test cycle it just beeped but didn’t run any water - now it won’t come on at all :( do you know what could have happened?
Aww no!! Really sorry to hear it. I’m not sure why it would be because tommee tippee themselfves recommend this method. Sorry to hear it
I tried this way the machine stopped working after that.
I think it's got over heated as I tried to put boild water twice.
I don't think you recommended to put boiled water only if it's new.
😒
Oh no, so sorry to hear yours overheated. Boiling water is only recommended when cleaning/descaling the machine. I put up a separate video explaining how to avoiding blowing out the machine and it's basically to wait until it has cooled completely before running a test cycle ruclips.net/video/7kAoqSAZSkI/видео.htmlsi=Ircrd0VqD4VZzSMr
Hello did you make the descaling video?
Hi, yes sorry, I actually uploaded it today ruclips.net/video/zB4WoJ1H5JA/видео.html
The second time I do the cleaning watching your video, but this time the red light doesn't go off...
Oh no, that's very strange, sorry to hear that. I've used this method a few times and have had no issues
Anni ❤ 0:42
Is that when the video officially starts? 🙈
Ive just done this and for 2nd lot of hot water the water wasnt coming out but machine was making that noise
Hmm, sounds like you have blown out the machine unfortunately. I’m not sure if there’s a fix for that. Maybe you can contact tommee tippee with your machine number 🤷🏻♀️ . I’ve just made a video on how to avoid blowing it out. The tank needs to cool completely before running a test cycle.
How many times do u need to clean it ?
Hey, I mentioned at the end of the video that I do it once a month ☺️. I have a new video up on how to descale the machine which only needs doing when the light comes up but I did it every 4 months.
ruclips.net/video/zB4WoJ1H5JA/видео.html
Totalny no point to use the drain button. Just poor out the water and clean all including inside.
So then how are the pipes through the machine being cleaned?
@@samanthafinlay3802 the pipes don't clean when you empty the clean water unless you have steriliser in the water
Hi, you are right there is not need to press the drain button when emptying the clean water, but it is there if you want to use it or you can use tip it out into the sink. Do whichever works best for you. I can see from your reply to the other commenter that you use the drainage button when the water has been sterilised which is when it is necessary and that is what will keep your pipes clean.
Hi, I would like to ask if you have any commercial cooperation? If not, have you considered any cooperation in this area? Can we chat in detail if we are interested?
No commercial cooperation, I don't think it's the path I want to go down right now. Thanks
Did this and it broke my machine
Aww no really sorry to har this. I've done this to my machine so many times with no issues at all and it is actually the recommended way by Tommee Tippee themselves.
Your machine more than likely didn’t break, it just blew a thermal fuse inside. You can replace them for a couple of quid off EBay. Mine blew following these instructions but once I changed the fuses it worked again and I just leave it 30 minutes before draining the boiling hot water out of the machine.
@mcross15 aww thank you so much for this. A few people have said there’s have blown, not just on my video but on the official Tommy tippee video also and now we have an explanation 🙏🏼
Do not use burnt out my machine
I’ve seen a few people comment this on the original tommee tippee videos. So what happened to your machine? Doesn’t it turn on anymore?
I’ve never had this issue and I’ve done this to my machine a lot. Tommee tippee advise you do this so I’m not sure why that would happen. If you have done it, remember the first cycle you run is a test cycle and it’s normal for the water to come out cold.
