Wow. I actually really liked this review. I liked how it wasn't taken too seriously like other car reviews. It was fun, entertaining to watch, and I even though some of the jokes were a tad cheesy, I found myself chuckling over their cheesy-ness. Anyway, I just subscribed. Keep up the good work!
Love this guy.
These videos are getting really good. Very different to usual mundane reviews. I didn't like the Honda CR-V review a few months ago but this is bang on.
Can I ask if you worked out the onboard computer mpg figure against real mpg for accuracy/inaccuracy? I’ve done a few long trips in one and although it was brand new, manual and a lower powered Se after zeroing the trip/fuel computer and driving pretty consistently I got some pretty good figures on motorways and single lane A roads and hilly dual A roads the main route was a third of each and managed 50mpg at times averaging mid to high 40s
really nice cuts.. good ideas.. nice work!!!
LOVE MY 16" DISCO! ITS AWESOME! GET THE 3RD ROW SEATING! I DID AND ITS WORTH IT! GREAT GAS MILLAGE AND PLENTY, PLENTY POWER!
this guy make my day!!!what a sense of humor ;-)
for some reason, i like this guy. great review
Yep , brilliant , loved the review , refreshing and informative , you have another subscriber ;)
I like this review
The fuel economy remarks surprise me. Having had one of these on long term rental, I can say with certainty the 53 mpg is not possible on real world driving (At least, I couldn't recreate it). But I could get my rental to consistently return 42 - 45 mpg. 30 mpg seems excessively low...
I love this car.
lol, then he calls the engine ... "DAVE" , great sense of humor
Not sure why so many people have disliked the video it is honest, sarcastic and takes the piss out of an industry that takes itself far too seriously
MPG is all down to the right foot. I have a new Disco 5 3 litre TD6 and I have seen 51 MPG only once mind.
I ought one. I
I chose the 9 speed auto HSE. This is a stunning car. Flawless on and off road.
Top bloke love his videos
Have we ever told you how much we like you Robbie?
Great job guys! :)
I like what LRover is doing with their image. Kind of similar vehicles, this one even has the black C pillar from his older brothers, but somehow seems to look different. Not sure about another person's opinion, but at least they do not seem to go the Audi way = everything is the same but different size.
you are simply the best! so funny. I am on the floor right now. 😂😂😂
I really liked the conclusion 😆
Refreshing.
The HSE tends to be the review sample, and its well equipped but quite expensive, I expect most will be looking at the SE tech, which has most the essentials, (but even that misses out on and auto dipping rear view mirror and full leather) adding sun roof, tow bar, full leather, electric seats, a good infotainment /nav and parking technology here will add getting on for 5K, given the vanilla SE is about as well equipped as a defender, actually I would say LR are a big tight on the standard equipment, another reviewer blinded a little by the expensive toys on the expensive option list most won't go for.
when it comes to price/performance it's actually quite good value so long as you stay within the lower 2 ranges, with its standard equipment and performance. Especially compared to Audi, BMW and Mercedes.
I wish there was a place to do disco sports
Had one recently wen my car was in the garage, took it for a round trip 520miles and the best I could get was 36 miles/g
My 1st thought ... "Nutter"
But actually that was a very entertaining and informative video.
Thanks 👍
Thank you. That's the exact journey I aim for. :-) M.
LOOL great review
you have me rolling laughing here....lol...great review!!!
I loved this!! lol! :)
Lol… 😂 Great review though… watching this in 2024!!!
I'm so glad I live more than 300 miles from Newcastle.
Newcastle is glad too...
I had a manual to start with and changed to an auto HSE last September for several reasons. The car is now six months old and has done 8000 miles. The new auto has been a right pain in the arse.
1. External temperature sensors read -32 degrees on occasions and the car climate control tries to cook you. Its been stripped down and three replacement sensors fitted in the wing mirrors with no success in fixing it.
2. The auto box has massive lag at junctions and roundabouts, delaying pulling away by up to four seconds which is downright dangerous.
3. Smell of electrical burning coming through the front air vents.
4. Annoying rattles from the rear seats.
5. Wheel squeak when driving from the front offside wheel.
6. MPG is always in the mid 30's even when I drive it really carefully.
Currently going through the massive headache of rejecting the vehicle!
No command driving position , I sit much higher in my freelander 2 , I get the same mpg and the DS is a bland hatchback that can go off road .
Just so I can get an idea of how tall the vehicle is, how tall are you?
6ft 4. On the tall side.
So it is a pretty massive vehicle. Certainly bigger than my 2014 Jeep Cherokee.
I have one of these and I agree, Dave is a lying bastard - we're just over 30mpg! Recommend the Black Pack too - especially on a black car...looks like the kind of SUV Batman would drive in that spec
with 600 mm being 24", sir you just explained Metric to me! and I`m Fifty that means 300 mm is 12" "WOOHOO"
Theres only one thing you need to know. The Discovery Sport isn't a reliable car. At least, not according to the latest What Car? Reliability Survey. Owners derided their Discovery Sports for a litany of faults, giving it an overall score of just 43.8%, which leaves it languishing in 25th place out of the 27 large SUVs included in the survey.
I like a movie movit
Would be nice to see car reviews that mention horrific issues that owners are encountering - search youtube for a few of them...
Anyone looking into buying Discovery
Sports?
Please be aware of the build quality
of this as I learned the hard way...
I bought approved used Discovery
Sports HSE LUX and was disappointed with the build quality of my car as it has
many issues but the biggest of all is the rust (as this also known as car
CANCER).
In my childhood I have lost a bike to
this (rust) and was painful, now looks like my dream car Discover sports will
be lost to this too...
The list is huge, but the highlights
are as below: -
1. Engine Oil dilution after 4 months
of the purchase of my car.
2. Real MPG of the car is 50% less
than the claim by land rover.
3. Radio reception is so poor that
looks like they forgot to connect the antenna.
4. The suspension feels like
non-existing with 20” wheels fitted by land rover.
5. Rubber seals around the doors have
gaps in them.
6. Visible black paintwork coming off
the exhaust system.
7. Poor pant used on the wheels as
the flakes are coming off there too.
8. AdBlue does not last the service
intervals.
Thanks to the extremely poor
materials used for this car so far, the heat shield has fallen off the bottom
of my car luckily no one was behind us so no injuries in this incident but it’s
extremely dangerous for the other road users driving behind land rovers as you
never know what may fall off.
I have been to land rover garage but
none of the above is covered under warranty!
So be aware of the issues before you buy
this car. I am in the process of creating a video showing all the known flaws
in my discovery sports which may be relevant to other cars.
950 pounds for a fucking hook...amazing.
so funny
You're a worry, man! Amusing video though... :D
Appalling sound quality. Did you put a pillow in front of the microphone?
Sport it is not! The overly thirsty Dis-Ingenuous (see what I did there?) is a mess. Been driving one for 3 weeks now and am glad to be giving it back at the end of the week. The 9-speed is erratic and Sport mode and Sport in general is a mess. Kick downs kicks in with very little effect to the speedo. Funny how the new Jag F-Pace is getting a sensible power option and not just the guttless 2 litre diesel! It's such a shame because inside is a really nice place to be. The Disco Sport is simply let down by it's inability to Discover or be Sporty!
An entertaining, but pointless review. Others comment on the road noise, sluggishness and gear hunting. Looks great though!
The Others? From that weird film with Nicole Kidman?
HonestJohn.co.uk haha! I think the review very entertaining compared to the other car dross on RUclips. Please carry on!!
It would have been worth mentioning the reliability issues...
You’ve just done it for me. Thanks. 😀
I like this car and its versatility but its just way too slow for me.
Buy British!!! JLR is owned by an Indian company
You can get all these, and better more, in a JEEP Renegade for less than half the price.
JLR reliability and quality are horrendous.
Do you cut and paste this comment into every LR review you can find?
making love
Buy British? Remind me, who owns Land Rover again?
Tata. Had you forgotten?
typical British.. Very very Low quality ..but at least it's high priced with low resale value ..
You've got Mark down to a tee there.
You’re trying to hard to be funny. Thumbs down
Got it. Try less hard. I’ll take that advice into all areas of life. Thumbs up, Bryan. X
This car looks bad
