In this video, we take a look at the classic darts throwing action of the asp in slow-motion.
This throw analysis has been heavily requested and very overdue.
Now Nathan "The Asp" has won the PDC World Matchplay, it seems only right it's covered.
Nathan has an incredible, mechanical throwing style with follow through.
My channel is exclusive to darts only content. I create my content as I simply love to play darts and want to help other dart players improve with my own channel.
All my video's are based on how to play darts as well as advise on equipment and general darts setup with the aim to guide any new players in their darting journey as well as provide more experienced or even professional dart players with dart content to help improve.
I throw around an 80 average myself with my left hand due to injury and dartitis in my right arm.
I may, on occasion, use footage from the Professional darts corporation (the P.D.C) as well as The British Darts organisation, WDF and Modus. These are used under fair use legislation, and all credit should be given to the rightful creators.

Impressive throw when you consider Aspinall’s injury last year. He did not overcompensate for the injury. He managed to stay consistent

Back when I was a pretty good Dart player, I was like Asp I twirled the dart , kind of Anderson , and I had a kick forward as I threw , I away's told new Dart players its ok to kick as long as it was forward ,

Aspinal positions the dart tip upward during the withdrawal.
When I play on the higher numbers, I manage that quite well.
However, when I play on the lower numbers like 19 or double 2 for checking out, my elbow naturally drops lower, and my upper arm points downward. Then, I encounter difficulties in positioning the dart tip at the same angle during the withdrawal.
I have to rotate my wrist so far back that the dart tip points upward at the same angle, and this feels forced. Consequently, my familiar throwing motion changes, and the darts consistently land deeper than intended.
Furthermore, it's much harder for me to follow through on my throw with the lower numbers. I often throw lighter and in an arc, not as smoothly with forward pressure as I do with, for example, the 20, as if I'm afraid that the dart might land too high in the board during the through.
Do you have any tips for me?

@@Jacksafc08 There you discovered, why Asp is now plagued by his arm-injury and now has to pause for a while. Not a style, which one should recommend. I think, he has to learn, how to throw the dart properly.

@@Straightdartsdo you mean it’s touching the barrel because that’s my grip most players tend to have at least a finger on the point but Nathan and Chris Dobey don’t seem to ??
