Oh my goodness I am so so sorry that happened to Butters. There are two extremes that happen when we experience trauma and thankfully you guys were able to get her away from the situation without causing permanent damage. The great things about dogs is that they live in the moment. She won’t even think about this going forward. But we do as humans hold onto that fear. Major hugs to you and Butters and I hope that she heals quickly.
So very sad to hear this happened to Butters, but I have to respectfully disagree with Victoria's comment. Hopefully, this will not be the case for Butters, but do not be surprised if she does show hesitation whether it be around dogs of a similar breed (to the one who attacked her) or the area the incident happened at. Unfortunately, I had a similar incident when an off leash dog went after my tiny girl. Thankfully no big damage was done, but it has made her very cautious... to this day of larger dogs (she is only four pounds). She will stop and wait for a larger dog to pass her when we are walking on the nature trail this incident happened on. That happened over two years ago! Dogs are so incredible and have amazing memories. It saddens me to think she is still cautious or nervous as this is clearly a memory now, but she does love saying hi to smaller size dogs and loves her walks around the lake. Either way, I am happy to hear Butters is okay. Dogs hold a very special place in our hearts!
@@dogs1cain755 I respectfully agree w/u too. I’ve worked for PetsMart & Petco and dogs DO remember. When my dog was a puppy, my husband was in upper management at PetsMart and we were allowed to have 1 pet fixed & vetted. The vet in PetsMart wouldn’t allow us to go back there, but when I got the paperwork, they charged over $1,000 to PetsMart. The veterinarian inside PetsMart gave my dog 16 or 17 vaccinations in 1 day. I called my regular vet & she told me that it’s a wonder that they didn’t end up killing my dog. From that point forward, my dog would take 2 steps into PetsMart, his knees would buckle, he would start trembling and literally unintentionally pee. It was so pitiful & heartbreaking to watch. I couldn’t bring him in there & had to pick out his toys myself. When I cashiered there, I saw dogs shaking & being extremely afraid. I really respect The Dog Whisperer, but I just cannot agree w/him that dogs live in the moment. They remember people they haven’t seen in years. I’m just really happy Butters is ok. Poor Michele was just devastated talking about it. I’ve cried more over losing my family pets than my own family members.

Completely agree- my dutch shepherd/akita mix played with a GSD in our community dog park for months as puppies….until they were running one day & the GSD was chasing mine & grabbed him on his thigh & took out a huge chunk. My dog literally screamed & fell to the ground. It was a deep puncture wound I had to take him to the vet for. He never again would go near the GSD- & they were BFF’s! And to this day- he won’t go near one. So they do remember trauma.

Yes - you absolutely did great letting your HOA know about the attack BUT ALSO contact the local authorities! Please help save the next victim! Local authorities will fine the owners.

Oh how terrifying. This hurt my heart for you, your husband and of course sweet Butters. So glad to know you are taking care of yourself with all the emotions and giving yourself time to work through the situation. Dogs do live in the moment thank goodness. Until you've lived with a dog you can't understand the connection we have with them. Look at how she tuned in to your telling the story. She senses your concern and sadness. She's so focused. Dogs are amazing.
It's such a weird situation when dogs attack. My dog attacked a bigger dog one time, no harm and the owner was just laughing, but my heart legit stopped!! I know you feel so helpless when it's happening, glad y'all are okay. ❤

I have 2 110# Rottweilers and I have multiple steps in place to prevent them from getting out! As an owner of big dogs shame on that owner…. 🤬

I have two Rotties as well and until I met my now husband who’s had 5 of them, I didn’t realize how sweet they are and how perfect for families and kids they are! Unfortunately, just like humans, upbringing and training impacts how one behaves. So, so, glad Butters is okay now.

The Rotweiler incident is truly frightening! SO thankful Miss B is doing well...poor kid. Unfortunately, a lot of cities do not take action against a dog/owner until a child or adult is attacked. Coyotes & cougars are an issue in my area, when walking with or without my dog I carry a golf club & pepper spray....just in case. Stay safe.

My heart always drops when you say you have something to tell about Miss Butters in a sad tone. That event was awful but she seems on the mend. She watches you tell her story so sweetly and seems she does not want you to worry.

That is my worst fear with my Bklyn are the bigger dogs! Thank goodness for the harness I that protected our dear Miss Butters!! I’m sorry your dog got attacked. Next time if you can lift the rear legs of the attacking dog and pull them apart. So widen them. It’s the way to stop a fight.

I’m so sorry that happened to Miss Butters. Thank goodness she’s okay.
The same thing happened to my parents’ dog a few years ago. A large dog broke through its fence and attacked my parents’ dog. My parents’ dog was a large dog herself but since she was on a leash couldn’t defend herself. Unfortunately, she was in rough shape before it happened, so the attack was the last nail in her coffin (awful expression but true). We ended up having to put her down a month later because her health started to rapidly decline and the vet said her quality of life was very poor. It was devastating. Thank goodness for Butters having that harness. So glad she’s okay.
So glad that Miss Butters is going to be fine. I hope that the owner of the dog paid for the vet bill and medicine. I think of the Peoples Court and how many have been on suing the dog owner because they won’t pay for what is their responsibility. Thank you for a nice vlog. The candle that you mentioned smelling smoky with cocoa sounds intriguing.

What happened to Butters is devastating and I’m so sorry this happened. My best friend and dog, Busterrr, had a similar situation happen once too. It was scary for both of us, but we ended up ok😊. Busterrr passed in 2016 from bladder cancer😢. You and Butters, myself & Busterrr and Sam & Aries could all have had so many fun play dates together, lol!! I hope you’re taking good care of you, Michele. ❤❤🐶🐶

Please do report the situation to police. Protect other dogs and people And children. What would happen if you took butters on the same walk in a day or two and the dog got out again?

I’m glad you reported the dumb, irresponsible jerks who own that dog. I also hope they paid for all of Miss Butter’s medical expenses. I mean, the dog could have attacked a child! I understand about not wanted to punish the dog, but this situation is extremely dangerous.
Michelle, after you exfoliate with the cotton pad, rub the cotton pad behind your ears. You will not believe the amount of makeup that gets stuck there. It’s something I learned from working with one of the older Managers at Clinique. The bracelets are beautiful, your friend is going to love it. ❤

What a scary experience on your walk. I'm glad Butters is ok! My dog got into a tiff with a poodle at the dog park a number of years ago. It didn't last long and the poodle nicked my dog's tongue, but I was still shaken after it. I can't even imagine how much more so you would have been after the attack. 😭 I feel for you all and am wishing Butters a swift recovery!

I’ve seen too many Judge Judy’s and so I feel like I’m an expert on this.
Their dog was out of their control and therefore they are 100% at fault. They are supposed to keep their dog on a leash or have control of their dog at all times.

Poor Butters! OMG! How terrible! He could have killed her in a snap, they have really powerful jaws! So glad she`s ok. She knew that you were talking about her, for sure. So cute! So, so glad she`s ok! But do not blame the other dog, owners are the guilty ones, they have responsability for that animal, about he`s education and socialization! That is key to a breed like that, a very dominating breed. Dogs are the image of their owners. So glad everything is ok. 😍
OMG. How awful. Poor Miss Butters. I would have been an absolute wreck. I'm glad that you were able to find the owner of the Rottweiler. They should have to pay your vet bills. I'm so glad that she's doing better.
It's definitely the owners fault.
I had an incident with my daughter when she was 2. A neighbor dog bit her cheek. There was so much blood. We rushed her to the ER, and then immediately to a plastic surgeon. It was so traumatic. And the dog had no vaccinations. The owner offered to put the dog down, but I couldn't let him. I only asked that he take the dog to the vet, get it vaccinated, and keep it on a leash. It was an awful experience.

How frightening! I am so glad Miss Butters is OK. She looks so unfazed by it all. You speak of the Cire Trudon Bayonne Candle I still have one from last year. It was my favorite holiday candle. I emailed Trudon and they said they are not making it this year. I will try the Diptyque one. When I was at our shoe/leather goods repair shop, I noticed the owner wore Birkenstocks. He wears them while standing all day. He explained to me that they are the truly wonderful for your feet (German engineering), especially as we age. They keep both your foot and ankle properly aligned and prevent and stop a lot of foot pain. I tried them and I must agree. Especially as they age and mold to your foot. But boy are they ugly. LOL I must try Retrovue.
Check with your HOA and/or police to see if Rottweilers are limited in your city. They are banned in a lot of places… The owner should be responsible for his dog’s behavior, and if they allow their dog out, collarless, and leashless, they should be made to pay your vet bill as well as fined substantially for allowing a dangerous animal to roam free. I’m so sorry that happened, but I would pursue it further.

Oh your poor puppy I would have had a breakdown if that had been me, a terrible experience to go through thank god she escaped with minor injuries. How come you use so little product am & pm but your skin looks so lovely, the products you use much be wonderful. I laughed at you opening num 1 of the advent calender I recently won a body shop calender and opened every box immediately lol. X
Hey Michele 💜💜💖 and Miss Fuzzybutters 💜💜💖 hugs Miss Fuzzybutters! Ugh, so terrifying! I was walking our three dogs at the time and these two off leash that started attacking us, I don’t know how I did it but I picked up all three of our dogs and scare the other dogs away. It was a miracle no one was hurt. I was so scared I had a hard time going for a walk again.

It sad that Butters was attacked and thank goodness she is okay. Hopefully she won't have any lasting affects of this attack. I would speak to the owners and ask them to have their dog enrolled in behavior modification training by a professional dog trainer and to provide proof to you in some way that the training was completed. Irresponsible dog owners need to be trained to be responsible, sometimes that happens by extracting money from their pockets to pay for a trainer. If they don't accept the suggestion then consider contacting officials. Bc this may save a life. Also request for them reimburse you for Butters vet bill and medication.
OMG Michele. That dog attack is so frightening. Poor Miss Butters, how scary she’s such a little dog. Thank goodness for her harness. I would have been hysterical Michele. I hope those owners keep that Rottweiler leased and when not out should be kept securely inside their house. Miss Butters is very concerned about you, she can sense you’re still upset. ❤ Spoil her rotten!
Michele this is a good tip next time you walk Ms Butters always take some dog treats or a stick just in case my grandmother always took a long stick Har stick like one of those door blockers stick can find them anywhere just another tip .... she'll be OK.... 🐶
