I know I’ve probably annoyed the entire HH dubbing community with this, but I’ll say it again: I’m so grateful we got a genuine Canadian French dub for this show, and the fact that it just spat in the face of the European French dubbing with how authentic the performances were (seriously, I don’t think there’s a voice in that dubbing I hate) really proves that a renaissance is starting to form
Yeah, I’m happy to finally be able to listen to a show in French without having problems with the accent too (even if I watch it mostly in English) and I hope we will have other shows dubbed in Quebec, especially if it’s that great
Vous le mérité aussi. Surtout qu'il est de qualité. J'ai juste du mal avec la voix d'Angel mais sinon yep. VF ou VQ les deux ce mal.

They got some incredible singers for the dubs - not just beautiful voices, but ones that sound wonderfully similar across the board. I'm very impressed and very grateful for the vid to hear it all!

As I told my BF, I was rather astonished by how beautiful the songs of Hazbin Hotel are. Seriously they did not need to go that hard.
I dunno - after the songs in the pilot, I think they did have to go that hard to keep up! Specially when basically the entire cast is full of broadway stars, it would be a sin not to use them. And the Living Tombstone never goes anything less than hard for their songs so I wouldn't expect less!

The performance surely seems good in the European French. I've heard it came out that way because of the little time they had for mixing it (I think they could have also let it rawer and it would have been better), and that they would try to solve it for Season 2.
Amazon Prime could also request a re-mixing, it would not be the first time it happened...
Anyway, almost all the other dubs did a really good job (Italian, as a dub, surprised me in general).

Prima di vedere la serie in italiano non mi ero per niente informato sul cast originale, e ammetto che Jeremy Jordan è l'unico che proprio preferisco rispetto alla versione italiana; non che Fabrizio non sia bravo, ma mi sembra che si senta troppo la sua ansia e un po' di imbarazzo nel cantare... pazienza dai, il suo comunque lo ha fatto

Poi non so come inserirlo nella traduzione ma "papa" パパ è un termine che di solito viene usato solo dai bambini, quando si diventa adulti solitamente si usa "chichi" o "otousan" per rifersi ad un padre. In questo caso, è possibile che Charlie stia dicendo invece "papa" come una sorta di vezzeggiativo, non è una parola da vocabolario di una principessa.
Non che ci sia granché di principesco in questa serie, ma è un dettaglio molto carino e interessante

Era tanto che non dicevo una cosa simile ma a 'sto giro la versione italiana è la mia preferita (includendo l'originale) sia per voci che per i mitici adattamenti. Lancio la domanda: ti sono piaciuti? Hanno tutte le qualità che cerco in un adattamento, tra l'altro sto seguendo ogni live possibile e immaginabile dei doppiatori in cui spiegano come hanno proceduto nel processo di adattamento. Sono curiosissimo di sapere cosa ne pensi😊
Non sono male, anche se li ho trovati un po' poco audaci, con alcuni passaggi proprio poco puliti.
C'è ad esempio la parte finale di Poison, che si conclude con un verso che è *molto* più tagliente dell'originale e fa il suo sporco lavoro di prendermi a pugnalate lo stomaco. Peccato che la parte prima, quel "anche se tu mi riempi, non sono pieno del veleno" sia letteralmente l'opposto di quello che dovrebbe significare. Questo si riflette sul peso complessivo che dovrebbe avere quell'ultima strofa, che perde il crescendo che avrebbe dovuto avere. Esempi così ce ne sono un po' ovunque in tutto il doppiaggio. Sono quel tipo di adattamento sciapo che può rovinare un lavoro che comunque ha delle buone soluzioni.
Quindi, diciamo bene, ma poteva andare meglio con un po' più di audacia (come in quel "e l'illusione di scegliere", che è spettacolare)
Hai scelto proprio l'adattamento meglio riuscito secondo me, bellissimi "l'illusione di scegliere" e la strofa finale. Ma in che senso la frase che hai riportato tu è l'opposto di quello che dovrebbe significare? È leggermente diversa (inglese: io ne voglio di più ma rimango vuoto, pieno di veleno; italiano: tu me lo butti giù a forza eppure io continuo a sentirne bisogno) ma non cambia quello che si vuoletrasmettere, no?
Ti do ragione comunque, alcuni passaggi sono poco puliti, un po' grezzi, ma sono imperfezioni che non mi impediscono di godermeli.
P.S. a proposito di godere, sentire "quanto ci godrò" in un doppiaggio non ha prezzo😍
@@TOTO-5 quel passaggio in realtà è un po' ambiguo a mio parere.
In inglese infatti è in traduzione letterale "Riempio il mio bicchiere ma è sempre vuoto, pieno di veleno", come stesse cercando di dire "nonostante io cerchi di dare un senso alla mia vita (riempire il bicchiere, con dell'acqua diciamo), questa rimane vuota, e piena solo del tuo veleno". Infatti non dice "Tu riempi" il mio bicchiere, ma "io riempio". Nel doppiaggio italiano l'hanno un po' resa come un "nonostante tu mi faccia del male, non riesco a staccarmi da te", che avrebbe il suo senso se pensassimo che Angel dipenda anche emotivamente da Valentino, non solo a causa del contratto (un po' come un fidanzato tossico).
Ora, io continuo ad essere convinto della teoria per cui Angel almeno inizialmente fosse innamorato di Valentino, che probabilmente lo ha sedotto e lo ha manipolato, ingannandolo con false promesse e inducendolo a fidarsi, ma c'è un punto nella trama in cui Angel confessa proprio ad Husk di volersene andare via, di volersi addirittura autodistruggere pur di allontanarsi, e alla prima occasione manda a quel paese Valentino davanti a tutti. Non lo vediamo mai con un atteggiamento dolce verso Valentino (e ringraziamo il cielo), quindi credo che la sua dipendenza affettiva sia in realtà qualcosa di passato, e che quello a cui alluda quel pezzo della canzone sia il suo desiderio di libertà dal contratto, e non da un "amore tossico".
Poi ovviamente la mia è una opinione, tutto può essere, anche perchè quella canzone ha tanti tanti strati :)
@@vale76443ok ammetto che mi hai illuminato, avevo frainteso quel verso. Mi ero immaginato più un bicchiere senza fondo che Angel non riesce a riempire nemmeno con tutto il veleno che ci mette. Da qui la sua dipendenza anche emotiva, che a mio avviso c'è comunque, più che altro perché gli abusi continui hanno convinto Angel di non avere nessun altro né di meritare di meglio, quindi vede Valentino come il suo unico protettore. È vero, non si dimostra mai innamorato o dolce nei suoi confronti, ma lo giustifica di continuo e gli si sottomette non solo perché deve da contratto, ma perché il loro rapporto è così tossico e violento (psicologicamente, fisicamente, sessualmente) da non fargli vedere che è dipendente da uno str0nzo. Tutto ciò a prescindere dai vincoli del loro contratto, che ovviamente continuerà a limitarlo anche dopo averlo "lasciato" e mandato a quel paese.
È chiaro però che, come hai detto, Angel Dust e Poison hanno un sacco di aspetti da considerare.
Faccio un TL;DR perché forse non sono stato chiarissimo lol
Credo che quel verso ha il significato che gli hai dato tu in effetti, ma penso che una dipendenza anche emotiva è presente lo stesso.
