Great video, I like the Kit API I can freely do so much more with that top end being so open on my mixes.

You have the master button engaged on the KIT. Doesn’t that put the plugin into the mastering bus style mode? Doesn’t this change the A5 sound a bit for a slightly compressed more subtle sound? I wish they would have kept the API style buttons.

I thought I preferred the KIT Plugins but it's clear I prefer the UAD version :). Thanks for the comparison!

I wish the A5 would give you the option to use the API style knobs as the original plugin had that is in this video. I use both plugins. Both sound great.

Lindel 50 is also APi strip?

Instead of using the UAD to have the 'Finished' Sound (and I love my UAD API Vision Strip)......Instead use the Lindell50 API Channel strip to have the 'Swedished' Sound!😁
Anyway, I think the KIT might have a more slight open transparent HI End however, the UAD takes it in the low and slightly more forward category...at least on my Mackie HR824 and Tannoy 5 Gold. I have to hook up my NS10M and give it a listen. If it were a price of maybe $49 USD I might consider the KIT but not at $149.
Too much competition. Which leads me to wonder how the UAD Compares with the Softube 'American Class 'A' Channel'
    Thanks for another GREAT video!

The BB lacks the mids too. Throw on top of that, the UAD strip has dynamics making it the better one. Each to their own.

I would like to remind you that by default, the kit has a bell shape for high and low frequencies. Only when the small button next to it is lit and turns green is the shelf

Thanks for doing this comparison, I’ve been trying to decide between the two! Still not sure I can decide though 😂

To me it sounds, as if these plugins were emulated from completely different console types. I personally would prefer the KIT API for THIS type of music. The midrange sound punchier (API like) and has a more lean and tight low end. But that's all a matter of taste. Thank you for the comparison.

SALT is not an API emulation. AA API emulation is PINK.

listening to this through my home studio monitors, its a night and day difference IMO...the UA sounds waaaaay better to my ears.

I initially liked the KIT but in no time it started to feel sterile and bereft of heft. UAD for me.

UAD has more clarity and definition.
