The way you play phoenix is not good. Ur taking fights u cant win coz ur not utilizing ur flashes for ur aim duels. When you're not going first, u bait ur whole team instead of trying to entry. When you get the entry kill, u dont capitalize on it and back off. A lot of mistakes for a Diamond player.
SO, just finished the VoD Review. It's always refreshing to get a vod review of myself from an outside source. This gave me some solid insight into the way I look at phoenix, and the map ascent especially. I'd like to brag about the fact that my map knowledge here is sub-par. Talking on the VoD review itself, it gave me some pretty clear insight into the ways I decide to use my flashbangs, (not just flashing myself) but a reminder to the potential I have at my disposal to clear out a lot of angles. I believe in this game on defender side for example, we were very worried about losing the game so we kinda had that fear instilled, thus forcing us to play passive as to avoid mistakes. Some of the big reasons we ended up giving up so much mid control on defense. I agree with you on the fact, that the reason we lost so many rounds on the attack side was due to our lack of map control in general, and our general unwillingness to play as a team. One note I will add, with my ultimate, I will use it fairly often to just throw out there and clear out angles we may have lost. The same can be achieved with just flashes, but I'd like to say it does feel a lot safer in many situations to just use the ultimate and not hold onto it any longer. I look at Phoenix ult as a very disposable, info-gather/entry/retake ultimate. TLDR - I agree, our map control was horrendous all in all. There are quite a few instances where I take unnecessary risks. And I flash myself like a bot. Thanks for the VoD Review Dragonmar
i'm just wondering, how would you rate your skill compared to other diamonds you play with. i'm stuck at gold atm but i want to see where i am skill wise.
I think a very important point is OP vs rifle sightlines. I don't know if you mentioned this. This is one of the biggest reasons I initially dropped from Immortal -- I kept contesting long angles as if this game was CSGO. Even at 7:22 which looks kind of mid-range, you can already see random spread screwing over your aim. It's kind of a hard habit to break, because playing back and strafing is preferable in CSGO. Tagging is too intense and shooting the body is too easy in this game to do that. (I'd also hold closer so that they have to drop down and check multiple 50/50s.) If you're holding a rifle, you should opt for holding close-mid range off-angles only because holding long range angles make you very susceptible to be ferrari peeked or OP'd and eliminate the factor of surprise turning it into a fair 1v1 which is not what you want. And then another point, if you have to fight long range with a rifle you should crouch. It helps tremendously with random spread and you don't have that issue of getting headshotted by a noob.
Yeah, once I learned how bad the Vandal is at one tapping at range (IDK why I assumed it could 1 tap from any range with 100% accuracy), I stopped ever contesting OPs that way like some cocky CSGO rifler.
some gold or platinum players make mistake :- Dragonmar : "you shouldnt have done this...weak play there" also some diamond friend does this :- Dragonmar : "it happens...this is just the situation not his fault" :3 :D
How is this diamond gameplay though? They play too slow, don’t seem to threaten bomb plants, force rotations or trade kills... even post plant positioning is pretty bad, idk man... great vid but it’s crazy to see how this game is played at higher levels without fundamental bases being covered haha
You'd be very surprised by what it takes to get into certain ranks, not all Diamonds are created equal. Some have the gunskill of Radiants, with the brains of, well...not Radiants.
Dragonmar for real man, I consider myself to have good aim/gamesense - I’d be very much okay if you wanted to review one of my demos to point out errors I make - I’m Plat 3 EU, I reckon up to Immortal 3 it’s legit just the amount of games you play that can carry you that high. Radiant is a serious grind though.
@@thelionzmusic It's also really easy to objectively look at someone's gameplay and call it bad. Looking at my own vods I find tons of mistakes that I wouldn't think are mistakes ig.
@@thediscobiscuit3 I wouldn't say it's bad, but I'm just very surprised by the amount of times they were stalling in attack, when I queue with a friend if we're stuck in mid for example, we'll either flash through the smoke and double peek or just rotate quickly, idk it seems so easy but they were just waiting
Well we have to remember that the game he reviewed of me, and this game of him are certainly NOT our best performances! Plenty of critique for both of us to improve or these would be pointless haha
On one of the defense rounds he holds a long and gets killed by a boost. you say "it's ok, he just didn't know about the boost" - but what would be different if he did know about it? In light of that boost, why is holding that angle ok?
Great question! Holding that angle while knowing about the boost is okay because he is now aware of the threat from the boost. Before he thought he was safe from all other angles and so he was holding that position lacking critical information. Now that he has that info, he can make a calculated decision if holding that aggressive angle is worth it. It also means he will be better prepared in case any enemy does appear from that angle as well. It’s like walking up mid B on Haven. There are two sides and you know either way an enemy can be on both sides but you have to choose what spot is more likely as your crosshair can only be in one spot.
With that angle sometimes I like playing it with an op and only peeking out to the top of the wall if they’ve been self boosting up there a lot. If not, I’ll hold the angle normally and listen closely for jump sounds since I think they always have to make that noise.
Did he not put a single wall in the whole Attacking round? Did he forgot it existed? Wall is hella good if you are pushing into you know.. Operators (especially on B site to block some sightlines)
Dragonmar. At around 10 minutes into the video. He has to hold site with a bulldog. But there’s a phantom on the ground? Wouldn’t it have been worthwhile for him to just press G drop his gun and auto pick up the phantom? Especially if he was gonna ult
Dragonmar. I really enjoy the content. Please keep it up! I’m currently a p2 that stomps golds but can’t handle anybody p3 or above. I’d love for you to review my gameplay or just keep up the content, its been helping me a lot.
Don’t worry about rank so much p2-p3 is a one game difference as soon as u stop thinking about ppls rank and thinking about them as another kill you’ll do better
@@mynameisnotshane404 It's suboptimal because it randomizes the spray much more than when hipfiring. First shot accuracy is a little better, but when spraying it kind of flares out in a half circle instead of in a rough 7 pattern like when hipfiring. If you're holding a long angle and you tap shoot it can work, but for the vast majority of encounters, hipfire is the way to go simply because it is controllable with 90% reliability (slight randomness) once learned.
