I haven’t been back in the Dojang for almost 2 years, will be going back soon. SabumNim and the whole of WMAC instructors are amazing.

Funny... Veeeery strange Hapkido. Unfortunately, this is not original Hapkido. It’s looks like fitness, boxing and many good words about martial arts. I hear the terminology “McDojo”. This school is really “McDojang” for Korean martial arts. So, it’s good, because people like it.

upitersport there really is no such thing as original Hapkido, that is unless you're referring to Diato Ryu Aiki Jujitsu. Chou from the beginning so I to continually evolve the art. It never became stagnant a solitary enough to be originally anything. It is a continually evolving style and system. This can be seen in that what it was originally coined a lot of the primary an original students were already martial artist and other styles. They brought their existing expertise into the art and we get to evolve immediately. Choi himself did this by immediately upon his arrival in Korea start integrating judo best defense techniques with his very first student who is a judo black belt. When the name of the art was coined Jae was already integrated boxing techniques and the kicking of other arts into it. Even my grandmaster who is around in the beginning took what he had learned with his original instructor and what he learned in Hapkido and immediately started to evolve it. And it continues to evolve to this day. This is one art that has never been stale, stagnant or existed without integration and evolution long enough to become an original anything unless you want to count DRAJJ.

I think the instructor is very well-spoken and charismatic. He seems to have a very grounded purpose and doesn't over sell his art. I also appreciate that he has a Ji Do Kwan Taekwondo flag hanging in his school!

Hapkido is a strange martial art. It reminds me a bit of Jeet Kune Do.
