A quick question. Why tune down? If the song isnt required (needing) any open strings? If it needs that open "E" string, why not do 1/2 step down? Im just trying to understand
You don't need to tune down, but it makes the placement a bit easier. If you left it at standard tuning, the e flat could be played on the a string. So it could go f# on E string, e flat on A string, B flat on E string, and then down to the F on E string. It just makes moving your fingers a bit easier instead of having to run back and forth on the fretboard

There's no reason, the song is in Eb. The placement makes so much more sense, especially the outro. Drop D is kinda stupid.
