I used to subscribe to G-Fan magazine when I was a kid. I wrote in about how bad this movie was, and it annoyed one of the filmmakers/producers enough that he wrote about his displeasure of my review. Not a bad attempt at shitposting in a pre-internet era.

My friends and I joked that the entire movie was just the main character suffering from a major schizophrenic episode.
That would have made it way more fun.
Well, i have seen movies, where that would actually make the plot make sense.
It's like that robot chicken sketch where a kid wins a game of checkers, is taken to outer space by aliens as Earth's ultimate champion to defeat another more evil alien race and saves the day.

Charles Band tried, but I think at the end of the day, he knew as much about kaiju films as the people behind Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters from Beverly Hills knew about tokusatsu.
That show is an embarrassment to super hero shows!

Not just the 1990s there were a number incidents in the 1980s as well.
Zarkorr was always one of those films I kept meaning to watch as a kaiju film fan but after this, I feel like I dodged a 90's bullet.
Band really does seem to have a thing for tiny stuff. Even including the tiny alien girl in this one as a knock-off of the Mothra twins. If it turned out he had a shrinking fetish, I'm not sure I'd really be surprised.

The part where the cop goes "Wait, I heard of this, what if he's right?" killed me. Also the hacker guy. Fun little movie.

I remember finding ‘Kraa! The Sea Monster” while scrolling through Amazon looking for cheesy giant monster movies and watched the trailer and thought it seemed boring. I might watch one day…
That one's actually better. It's not *good*, human and monster scenes remain very disjointed, but the lead characters aren't as unpleasant and it has an Italian alien space clam.
Fun fact: The suit for Kraa was later reused as a monster of the week in an episode of Big Bad Beetleborgs.

I caught this on TUBI last year or to be more honest it caught me as it just automaticly started playing after RobotJox and I couldn't be bothered to find the remote. It staggers me how many of Bands films often have all the ingredients to make a fun cult movie; everyday slub protagonist, big stupid monster, cheap but charming effects yet its always an absolute bore.
Even Puppet Master, the movie he's most known for is absolutely carried by its premise and effects, because the plot itself is soooo slow and boring.
The movie's lighting is so out there I discovered Zarkorr was red in the making of.

Fun Fact: 'Shining Time Station' is unknown to Americans. It's a Canadian show. Yes, I know it's Thomas the Tank Engine (I grew up with the show myself), but I don't know why the name change. Maybe a rights issue.

As a fan of Charles Band, If I had to guess I would say that the monster footage in this movie was done as a proof of concept by somebody he partnered with, and He started filming before he could find out if the person was able to actually deliver more footage.
This would kind of track if you have paid attention to his recent activity, there was a movie he put out called giantess attack.
The movie was actually done as a indie project by a fan of the general who had it crowd funded along with a sequel that I keep seeing advertisements for but apparently never materialized.
Charles band distributed that film, then hired him to do the special effects for attack of the fifty foot cam girl, which did well enough to net a sequel That has been criticized for much of what you say about Zarkorr. He is also going to release the Giantess Attack sequel and it looks like a 3rd is on the horizon.
For what it's worth the actresses involved in all of these films seem to really enjoy their part in them and working with him so good for them I. Actually bought the 2 films that are out because I wanted to see the bonus features. , haven't watched them yet but considering most of what you show on this than the average film. I like to watch I don't think I'll be disappointed
Zarkorr is a cool ass monster design with a great soundtrack.

When you next update your Bottom 10 Movies list, Starcrash 2 and War of the Robots are going to have some stiff competition! This was one of the most agonizingly painful movies I've ever sat through! It makes Things look like a legitimately good movie!

I was thinking more in the same scenario of "Attack on Titan" but taking out the suit actor works to.
After these attempts by Full Moon to try something like Godzilla, you might want to watch their attempt at the time to build something like the MCU. Because I read that their films Mandroid, The Chronicles of Benjamin Knight and Dark Angel were supposed to be set in the same universe. And there were probably plans to form a team out of these. So the B-movie version, of The Avengers ("The B-vengers" so to speak).
I watched this a couple of years ago and loved it at first, but it quickly went down the drain. lol I still love how that girl says “sword.” 😂

I enjoyed playing the video game "Going Postal" 😂
The first game was great as a sort of spiritual predecessor to Hotline Miami.
The second and fourth games are great open world FPS games with tiny hints of a Metroidvania and immersive sim.
