- Creativity, in painting a landscape, comes when we use colors that we can mix from our palette that create a mood or emotion that we wouldn’t get if we just copied a photo.

with every new video u post i learn something, phil.Is it possible to make a video on how we determine colors at the beginning of a new artwork and what is the relationship between those colors?
Thanks, That would be a good one.
Very informative. Thank you very much.
Glad it was helpful!
I am really struggling with my color choices that go beyond assorted muted greens, yellow ochre, burnt sienna, raw umber, white, and a blue sky. I get bored with using the same color choice over and over. I tried a split complementary with violet, yellow-orange, and yellow-green. It did not turn out well. I am getting used to painting on my canvas over and over again and hope that, at some point, I will not have to paint a landscape 10 times to get it right.
