The show creators have said that the inspiration for the show was Lord of the Flies and The Andes Rugby team ( who only resort to eating their teammates when they were actually on the brink of starvation after they crashed in the Alps, I think, and they didn't murder anyone, lol.)
Yessss! This show is so entirely deserving of more attention!! It's just...so well-written and brilliantly acted by every single cast member. Yellowjackets deserves so much more recognition than it gets!!

I’m late, but that’s because I just finished the show last week. I had been getting recommendations for reactions to the show, so I just thought, “Why not watch it?” … I’ll never thank RUclips enough for the recommendation cause my GOD do I love it. I literally finished both seasons in 2-3 days because I couldn’t stop watching once I hit play. Top tier, easily claimed a spot right next to my long time fav shows! I think what majorly helped me love this show was that I was read the book “Hatchet” in 4th grade, loved it, bought it to own, and still remember the plot well. In many ways Hatchet and this show are similar, so I couldn’t help but love this show too. YellowJackets gives off SO many vibes of other shows/movies, but is still completely it’s own show.
Loved this reaction! So glad this show is getting more popular. But, why do people like Jackie? She is very clearly a queen bee and is very passive aggressive with Shauna. Did you notice that the complements she gives her at the party really have more to do with herself than Shauna? I think I find her character triggering because I had "friends" like Jackie growing up who I didn't realize were treating me badly until much later. Uggh, she just annoys me.

Ok, so, I haven't seen this show, and didn't even know what it was about until reading a plot summary a couple of mins ago. I'm not if the plot just READS badly, but am I alone in finding it hard to believe that a plane with a bunch of children on it could go down in a country like Canada and not be found in the time it takes people to 'decend from being a team into cannibalistic warring clans'. Like how fucking long are they lost for?
Judging from the real life event this is inspired by it is absolutely possible. In that case (and I guess in the show as well) it was a white plane that crashed on a snowy mountain, quite hard to see from above if you don't know the exact location where it went down. In the original event they were lost for about 2 months, in the show it's 19 months. Both more than enough time to become desperately starved
Literally one of the best pilots in recent years and one of the best shows ever. The mystery is just too addictive.

They were lost for 72 days & thankfully suirivied on those who died in the crash or didn't survive the dangerous situation they were in.
