3:50 anyone who watched Colon bat for the mets knows his helmet falling off was not an oddity, he actually started wearing extra large helmets because the fans loved it so much when it flew off
@Jesus has given you all. Repent or die. Last time I checked (and I don't know if this has been changed in the last several hundred years) Jesus died for the sins of man so my ticket to heaven is already paid for, in blood no less. I don't need to do anything, I just have to live my life. Also, what ever happened to "thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself"? Did your faith forget that during your unholy escapades? "Cleansing" the world of those who would not submit to your beliefs. Condemning those to a hell you created... How quaint. Faith is a joke and all parties should be ashamed for being a part of it.
There was one funny moment with Don Mattingly. He was in foul territory and took a little popcorn from a kid's box. The look on the kid's face was priceless.
I had a catcher do that a couple of times in a game earlier this year before everything shut down... the pitcher was overthrowing, bounced a couple that bounced up right into the zone: the first one he just held it for a moment, then threw it back. the second one he held it for several seconds, I finally gave in and said "Ball!", and he turned to me and said "are you sure? looks pretty good to me!"; I just chuckled and said "yeah, pretty good.... Ball".
That Manny Ramirez catch and high five at the end was probably one of my favorite plays. Great catch and just tops it off with a fan high five at the end.
That Ramirez catch at the end was awesome. I can't remember if I watched it live or on Sports Center the next day, but it is one of the most fun things to watch as a Boston fan. He was quite the weirdo, but he had his moments and between him and Ortiz the heart of the order was one the most scary in baseball. They were in Baltimore I think and he happened to high five the one Boston fan, plus I think he got the second out.
Had a rain day yesterday so I busted out MLB video game...the in game audio clips confirmed the second out. I needed to see that replay instead of hearing it...couldn't figure out how in the hell he made the catch, high fived a fan, and then threw the other runner out.
@@TheMoezilla It was a great play and probably why I remember so much about it. That was some fun baseball and a perfect example of "Manny being Manny". This one has some examples and a bonus of Martinez tossing Zimmer around the 2:35 mark. I kind of Manny, his swing was sick.
I love how they were talking about gerrit cole being a good sinker ball pitcher, and then when he leaves the pirates and stops being a sinker ball pitcher he becomes a top 10 potential top 5 arm in the league
Ah, now I see the special bunting displayed in the stadium. Amazing I had never even heard of this. It's like MLB didn't want it publicized for fear of copycats.
There was a game between the Mets and Marlins in the Marlins first season where it was in Miami and it started raining and the ground crew rolled out the one-piece tarp in right field. It was raining hard and this one-piece tarp was too heavy to move and the ground crew got bogged down between 1st & 2nd base. They tried to fold the tarp back on top of itself and a big air bubble was created. They got the air bubble sorted out after 10 minutes and keep in mind, it's still pouring and the infield is becoming flooded. They bring out more guys and they still can't get it to cover the infield so they take it out to center field and angle it so it's like a diamond and bring in even more guys to try to run it in and Tim McCarver said it looked like Picket's Charge! Five minutes later it stops raining, the ground crew wraps up the tarp and they spend another 30 minutes trying to dry out the infield so now it's been like 90 minutes and The Mets take the field and after the 1st pitch the catcher, I think it was Todd Hundley, goes out to talk to the pitcher! They sat in the dug out for 90 minutes and still didn't have their signals worked out! I wish I could find video of that!
That parachutist, landing in Shea Stadium during a game seems pretty nuts, but that was the 1970's. People think that the world has gone crazy these days, but things were crazier in the 70's. The Yankees fans would roll toilet paper out of the stands, down onto the field, to celebrate. People would throw things at the players to disrupt the game. People would run out onto the field, naked. It was nuts.
