I agree! Repeatabilty is excellent with this dripper. The added texture is wonderful as well. I've also consistently gotten good acidity, sweetness, layered flavors and balance. Also the extractions seem to be much higher with the same amount of time. So I've been able to get as good or better extractions with the Kōno in much less time with no clogging issues. It's a VERY GOOD design producing VERY GOOD results. I thoroughly enjoy the Kōno dripper. Oh, and to add to all that, I've had great results with 1 pour, 2 pour and 3 pour methods, each with very distinct flavor profiles. One of the most distinct and interesting pours I've accomplished with the Kōno is a 3 equal pour method, in which I pour 1/3 of the total brew weight every minute. No stirring or swirling. Smooth medium flow rate making circles from the center outward to nearly the edge. The third pour takes a bit longer to drain than the first 2. If there are any floral notes in the coffee it draws them out excellently. Also produces plenty of acidity and sweetness. Multi layered. Very high extraction. Though I haven't had any issues with over extraction, you may need to adjust grind size, water temp or even coffee/water ratio if you have over extraction.
👍 Thanks, very clearly presented. Would you also recommend this dripper (the small version with the lowest ribs) for working with smaller amounts of coffee? (Say 10 or 12 grams.) And what about single pours? (Preferable with lower amounts of coffee.) The Kono looks quite a lot like the Hario Mugen (also hardly with any ribs) which is referred to as the best dripper for the single pour technique.
I think doses as low as 12g could still work. Haven't tried 10-11g. I also have not tried single pours. I think a 2 or 3 pour structure works well with this dripper though :)
@@stefanociamarra2505 That color and label look like the limited edition Kono Meimon MDN-21 (medium rib length, unlike the MDK-21 with shorter ribs and thus slower flow rate or the MD-21 with longer ribs and thus faster flow rate)

Thank you for sharing! Interesting insight with the 3 distinct pour methods. I enjoy using the 3 pour method as well :D
