    you put some pretty good scratches in the pavement by not letting the winch pull the truck under the container at 1:45

    Drop the boom about 4 inch from ground (I usually tap ground then come up slightly). Tap box with boom. Place hook on then pull box on or ideally, allow load to pull truck underneath box! Strap then tarp.

    Umm, no. Look at the damage you just did to the asphalt. Let the cable pull you into the bin. The less the bin moves on the ground the better.

      Trent - the stopping three feet before the truck hoist/boon taps the can, causes unnecessary damage to the cable when pulling the can up. Never seen it done like that before.
      Like you said, unnecessary damage can occur doing it that way. We put a lot of containers in driveways and have to do everything we can not to tear up the customers’ driveways when we go to pick up/load the containers.

      For the purpose of training and filming, it was easier to apply the parking brake, and move the container.

      @@Fine39XMEN which is why its ideal to have something like plywood over the surface where the container is if im correct

      I was thinking the same thing. Why did he drag the can rather than back to it.

    This was a good video but so far I haven’t seen one where it shows detailed operation of how to use all the controllers on picking up and dropping off

      If you have specific questions, or would like to see more detailed training, we can provide that also. A simple explanation is the same levers for the hoist are outside, and inside. Use the winch on lever on the tower, to pull the container on, forward of the rear hinge. At this point, you can start to lower the hoist with the raise/lower lever on the tower. Winch the container on further, make sure the sills are aligned, and then lower the hoist to the truck frame.

      Not even a trucker, but I'm happy that those wire systems are history here. Most units got the hook frame instead. Here is an 'typical' half pipe bunks asphalt hauling unit for city pavement job purpose - bigger roads= more common with trailer units.

    Ok let me stop you right there ive been operating roll off for 30 yes and my suggestion to protect your box and prevent it from shifting off the rails is before raising my boom i make sure my tail is extended out and then baxk slowly to the wheel rollers of the container then proceed to hook the cable on once in the truck winch up past the first rollers and release the air brakes and as your winching up the weight will pull the truck under the container as you continue to adjust your angle and keeping the nose as low as possible once 80 percent of it is on and there isnt any weight on the tail then proceed to lower your boom and and a safe point winch it in tight and lower the little remaining amount .... ive seen to many guys tip sideways cause they werent controlling the truck as it goes under the box 👌👌👌

    Clearly more of a product video as opposed to a training video. Which is just fine, but it might be a good idea to be clear on what the video is for. Great looking product btw.

    Never lower the boom THEN hoist the container. If the cable snaps, it's coming straight through the cab of the truck.

    I really hope not many new drivers watch this. Pretty wreck less operation, and poor tarping technic. Smh...

    • @davigorb
      @davigorb 6 месяцев назад

      With a short haul between loading and dumping, I've done 21 boxes in 1 day. But generally 8-10 boxes is a pretty busy day
