This video shows a Isuzu FTR Hooklift picking up a dumpster with only a parking spot between it and a car. It also shows it picking up a dumpster off an elevated driveway or what could be a loading dock.

Drove one of these as well as the cable trucks. Never had more than a 20 yard on this type. We used it for subdivisions and tight places. Roofing jobs, clean out garages. Very profitable. Got 8 mpg opposed to 5 mpg for the macks.
Nice work!! I've had some of those tight spots with a cable rolloff. I've done the hook and pull many times. Stay safe!!
I love this video.i just started a job with hooking containers.Learning new tricks.thank you.
Good luck ! If you need dumpsters please just let me know
Always look forward to your videos. You have a nice set up. Eric
“Come here girl”😂
Love the short and to the point videos. New subscriber!
you did all that single handed .. and with one hand held the camera !! 🤟🤠👍
You definitely sound like a Johnny Bobby... i dig it.
That's a beautiful truck worth every penny and then some.💯
Had to buy a new hook lift for the company I work for and went with the FTR thanks to your vids.
Let me know if you need new hooks or dumpsters
@@hooklift I will.
Excellent video. Thank you
Love them Isuzus
Thank you Jonny
I like all the people defending their cable lift trucks, they're fine but they're no hook left. while you're outside of the truck hooking up a cable I'm pulling away done.
Agreed
I mean look I drive a hook truck and it's mad good for many situations but tbh I feel like the cable truck gives you more control over the box, whether it's good or bad control and also, nowadays cable trucks don't need to be controlled by the outside and now its much faster to use them on the inside.
You have to get out to check if the customer closed the dumpster door anyway. And to put on the straps and tarp the load.
Good job
I've always wondered how the hook rolloffs work because we have the winch cable on ours.
Damn! I just dropped my company's first bin with our first hooklift in a VERY tight spot (Ineeded a lot of spotting) and I wish I had video of what you did on that extreme angle lift. I would have done it from the cab at first so I could pull out as I was raising it (slowly) until I got to that sweet angle you had. How did you do it?
Now I know I can fit one in my tight spaced driveway. Unless the delivery guy is really a newbie. Lol
Not bad, been is much tighter spot with a much bigger truck... good job
I've done that stuff with a cable, but it's a lot more work, the hook is the way to go for that kind of stuff. I see your cans are set up for both hook and cable
I saw in one of your comments that you have to get a DOT card where you live. That’s wild.
Well done!
What’s the wheel base of your truck. ?
Is there really a big difference betwen a live pto vs no-active? I'm looking to buy a hooklift and was told not to buy a truck that dosent run the hook in DNRP
Nice work friend
Do you still have the cam concept rolloff hook trailer
What is wheel base of truck ?
I’ve heard of bins going over sideways when the customer loaded it unevenly. (The guy I know who had this happen hauls scrap metal from customers and they are huge bins.) if one of your bins were to go over is the risk with hook that your whole truck would flip? Unlike my guy who just lost the bin? Just curious
I love this video. Your inspiring me to get into this business. That’s a really nice rig and set up you got there if you don’t mind me asking roughly how much did that all cost the truck with the lift set up?
Call me for a quote
@@hooklift I would also like to know price of your setup and price. And if you need dot and cdl for it
God made men who understood hydraulics and it changed our civilization forever from that day forward.
Is this cdl require what's gvw? On this thing
If the box is real heavy I don't know if I could pull it out with a cable hoist or not. It would be easy if there was no good pavement.. I think it would cut the pavement with a cable hoist any way you try to do it.
just normal day to day life of a hooklift driver
Awesome
Thanks for the video where can I buy one of those trucks
I would’ve got it with my cable roll off in my Mack truck
Me too 😂
I think it would have cut the pavement if it was real heavy.
Course he kind of pulled it around also. Ye I guess I could have got it.
You are the best! I would work a week for free just to get to ride around with you.
What’s the specs on that rig and what’s the largest can you can haul
Dirty Bob FTW!
No holding tabs on the dumpster?
What the price difference between hooklift and cable systems like switch and go?
Actually as I know the prices are almost the same
Nice
what kind of hooking setup do you have on your truck?
Seems to be a 20K lbs set up … for more info DM me or call me
I know you're truck is under the 26,000 GVW but are you required to have a CDL since it has Air Brakes??
No CDL required. DOT Medical physical required.
@@johnnybobby862 Appreciate the response!
@@johnnybobby862 you may want to check again. I've heard of some class z thing they are making motor home drivers . Under cdl but air.
Are you happy with the horse power of the FTR? What Palfinger hook model is that?
Truck has plenty of power. I do not know too many trucks that speed up hills loaded down to thier capacity.
20K
May I ask how much a truck setup like that cost?
Please call me for a quote
What is the payload?
You shouldnt pick up a box with the jib extended you can bend it
Not only that you can damage the internal hydraulic piston that extends the jib. I know from experience.
Yes you enter in a tricky zone when you pick up weight with jib extended
Never jib out even for an empty…😂😂😂😂😂
How much does that truck weigh with an empty dumpster on it?
Would weight around 15K lbs
Wow damn You don’t let nothing hold you back.
Does your truck have air breaks?
It does, you can see the brake chamber at certain parts of the video
Everything you did I can do with my cable .
And can carry double the weight with my 3 axel mack .
Thats right u tell i do that everyday
I was thinking same thing.
I agree 100% I could do both of those maneuvers with a cable truck, I’ve been operating a cable truck for two years, and been operating a hook lift for 6 months, in my opinion I’d rather have a cable over a hook Any day
Why, ? Besides carting more weight , why would u rather have a cable instead of the hook ?
Thanks
@@keeganshears3023 can you explain?
Thinking about getting into a roll off truck in about a year or so and want to hear real life opinions
I ran cable trucks and could get those dumpsters. This looks quicker though
Been rolloff for 10 years. His second pickup he says cable truck can't do that, you kidding me? That's tons of space in my experience. Cable trucks are better and can carry more weight. You hook guys deal with "light" loads.
Lol, I was thinking the same exact thing. Wuz gonna let it ride tho 😅
You looking to sell the truck?
How much can you haul with that truck?
Would be around 8K
Is this a 36 inch hook or a 54 inch?
Seems to be a 54
If you back under that as you pick it up you won't have an issue with it not lining up like that
👍
Lmao damn tight squeeze
I run a cable lift and I can load and unload a dumpster anywhere!
If you need any dumpsters for cable please let me know
Two hydraulic system'.
I'm production one hydraulic system, with capacity 6 m3
So they use the concept of "Trash Recepticle Using Managed Pick-up Services To Empty Rubbish" Hey that makes the acronym TRUMPSTER
Tight? Stay out of the city if that is tight for you. Would have switched that out with my conventional cable dead lift
Sure 👍
@@lauramurray6690 True. Not knocking the hook but it isn't impressive to anybody who does this for a living
I could have put a swap right back, exactly where it was.... with that hook.
Jack them boxes around like a trailer
Great
We all here from farming simulator right?
Hello friend, where can I get a truck of those likes?
Arght now
Lol anybody ever ask somebody to just move their car for 10 minutes. I'm like a rottweiler when I'm at home, I see and hear everything, my car woulda been moved for ya within 30 seconds.
No no , can you please show the whole thing, you turned off the camera and pulled it out and then turned it back on , thanks BigAl California.praise Jesus grace Christ amen
Oh yea you dont know what you're talking about I run a cable ican and have done those lifts
That's gotta be Norfolk. Hate their roads. Check your Facebook messages.
Show me something
Less talk give more action
Everything you just did is doable with a cable roll off, nothing special here lol
Well said
But with a hook you can set one like that too.
And with a cable too, just push the mfer before setting down completely lol
@@jazamora7521 Sure, straight back, but you can back a box in with a hooktruck like you're backing up a trailer.
@@tommyw.9424 yeah the cable guys have no idea how much easier it is. Most companies would switch but have to many cans. Hooks are lighter and less maintenance
Get outta that mirror!
Don t look that difficult to me
i could get my 8 wheeler roll on of in there easy
I could get it i drive a roll off truck a real roll off truck
Same here let's see him grab that first one with a real roll-off.
As apposed to a fake one? So they sell these trucks 10 to 1 over 10 wheelers why? Because they have a porpoise. Are you going to bring a 15 yrd can with a tri axel. Or Evan a 20? That's why some guys drive and some of us are third generation owners. 🙄
That's a little toy truck he's driving to little for me to drive 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
yea if that was a load dirt you would'nt be moving shit with that and i have both lefts and in the of day cable is better
We don't haul dirt, concrete, gravel or any extremely heavy debris and we make it clear to our customers.
You do realize they make 60k hooks? And that's like a dump truck driver laughing at you because a tri axel dump can carry more weight the a tri axle roll off because it's lighter. So what's your point.
And it was a load of apple's we could make a pie. Got anything else intelligent to add🤫
Hello friend, where can I get a truck of those likes?
