As an Omen main, I think his real purpose is being a flex pick. He can fill in any role other than sentinel. Can flash for his team, can smoke for his team and also can entry with his tps. He can do weird mindgames. Everyone has had that one game where the enemy Omen is a bigger trickster than Loki. I think that's his biggest strength. He can do mind games like Yoru without a kit solely dedicated to it so he can also flex.
He can somewhat fill a Sentinel’s role by lurking after smoking though. His flash also denies rushes to site. But yeah, he’s not designed to hold flanks.
As a semi professional Bronze Clove main, turning off your brain when you have ult and playing like a Raze with ADHD and hand tremors is the best way to enjoy them
Sova: "I clear the path with information to allow for a tactical assault." Breach: "I clear the path by busting down walls to allow for chaos." Raze: "Hi, I'm chaos."
As someone who plays a lot of chamber, I find that his kit isnt just to use an op but to get an early round pick and due to his untradability he himself acts like an alarm bot, so for him to just be glanced over as just an op character feels shallow :(
I mean chamber is literally the widowmaker of valorant, his specialty is at long range fights specifically sniping. But I do agree that chamber isn’t just for op, he’s a sentinel that holds down site by getting kills, like you said to get a pick and get out, like a kj alarm bit and cypher cam as one, chamber himself IS the util.
Brim is a great solo queue agent solely due to his stim and how fast he can execute a site Stim is essentially a “go in” button, in plat+ 90% of the time when you hear stim being dropped you know it time to w key. In turn it becomes a silent communication tool and helps sync up a push
One of my friends is a brim one-trick. He's always said that he's the go-in button. When he plays solo he uses the stim whenever his duelists are feeling a little shy. He always shouts "go my children!" When using it
@MrLowlander Gekkos abilities are to disorientate enemys to get easy kills. He does this to Easily capture a site. His blind can shoot all corner camping enemies a concuss/ Wingman to make enemies push by planting/ defusing the spike. His molly is to hit disorientated enemies and clear un wall bang-able spots.his ult can clear sites and disable enemies. All of his abilities can be picked up because its good for after you claimed the site.
Saying chamber is an OP only agent would inmediatly apply to jett aswell. Chambers strength is catching people off guard while holding off angles, playing agressive in defense, being a second (or third) entry duelist on attack and most important of all, helping his teams econ, chambers kit is designed in a way that you will always be carrying atleast 3 to 4 guns (headhunter + tour de france), this allows chamber to buy full headhunter with only 800 credits (Headhunter acting as a guardian but much cheaper) and you can buy a teamm8 a rifle. And his ult is key in stopping a hard push, specially countering Vyse since she cant take away his ult away, the slow from the ult is godly to 1.-Stop a rush on its tracks and 2.- Force the enemys to either waste utility to block chambers sight or rotate to the other site. Overall, i think you overlooked chamber by a lot and wouldnt want any new players or vieweres to think that chamber is only buying OP, he has a lot of tactics to help his team.
As a Harbor main, his strength is disorientating enemies. Sure he can smoke off the site but every other controller can do that. He has 3 smokes that can completely mess up people's map knowledge and orientation if used together.
I mean that’s literally just what smokes do tho. You can argue that he gets more smokes than other controllers, but if he uses them all at once you’ll lose the round when they go down 10 seconds later
Specifically for duelists, they can be devided into 2 sub-classes due to their kits: Entry duelists and Duelers. Duelers like Phoenix, Reyna are designed for 1v1+, Entry duelists like Jett, Raze can take spaces, info of the site for others to come in (ofc they have kits to 1v1 like Jett smoke, Neon stun and Raze nade but they should be used to clear points or save themselves). Yoru is the hybrid one and his core is more likely to interrupt setups or 1v1. But now we have Iso (crazy for 1v1+ and can entry with shield and wall) and the new fkin Neon (haha Neon).
id say Vyse is the strongest sentinel for stalling for teammates to rotate, she has an indestructible wall lasting 8 seconds, 2 mollies that last a whopping 10 SECONDS, so if theres a single choke thats 28 seconds of stall, not to mention her blind is one of the the longest blinds in the game lasting 2 seconds. also heres a tip: if the wall gets tripped use only your blind and get the pick, and after wall expires use your thorns, that'll give you just enough time for your flash to go off cd for your next fight.
@@lolitsjans1557 sorry for the late reply! I would say make sure to use your fade utility in ways you can help your teammates as well as yourself. She's really good for clearing corners! You should also go into custom games and practice throwing her eye to optimal places where the enemies won't shoot it immediately while making sure it still provides valuable info!
@@raoni00111 yes! I had to learn this the hard way, but after a few seconds the eye will automatically come back down in terms of throwing. But in terms of how far it can mark enemies from, it will actually show you on your minimap/map! so just make sure it's in that range and as long as it's visible to enemies, they'll get marked by it!
omen is everything. omen has (near) site-wide smokes, an insane flash, good repositioning with tp, and.... an awful ult. his smokes make for easy (ish) one-ways on many different choke points that no other smokes can have. That is his strength.
The first contact Iso is really a good strength but if I can elaborate, I really think Iso is by far the tankiest of duellists, if you manage to get a kill fast and maintain a good position you can kill anyone without even having a good aim (that's the point of his q ability) and you become really hard to kill no matter what, so you can get a quick first contact and then be the tank of your team that run around and get kills easily, giving a huge avantage for your teamates
MrLowlander as an immo smoke. omen is a good pick for second entry, trading duelists from off angles made by his tp and flash. his flash is really strong for execs and covers alot of sites. Astra is really strong lurk cause his kit is universal and covers all of the map. also astra is a good defensive agent with a good duelist she can hold a site like a cypher. clove is just shoot, okay lurk cause of his self sufficient kit and always entry when u have ult always be aggressive and hold unconventional angles the heal and ult allows u to do stupid things. Viper is bad rn but when she was good. Her best strength was being a sentinel-controller. always play for ratty walls and orbs be a rat.
If they applied the shield mechanic to all of harbors abilities I think he could actually be good. Give the bubble shield more health also but all the shields breakable still. He would actually stand out and maybe even become one of the best controllers.
If I'm gonna be honest this ties in to the whole subclass thing, where there are multiple agents that fit into the role, and usually I divide them into 2-3 types: [Controllers] For controllers it's either self-sufficient or setup, with omen/astra/clove for the former, and brimstone/harbor/viper for the latter. [Sentinels] It's either they are trapmasters or stallers, with Chamber/Killjoy/Cypher for the former role and Vyse/Sage/Deadlock for the latter role. [Initiators] I get them into three categories of indicators, flex, and charge. Sova/Fade for indicators, Skye/Gekko for flex, KayO/Breach for assault. [Duelists] I just put them into 2 categories of mobility and assault, with Jett/Neon/Raze being speedy and Phoenix/Reyna/Yoru/Iso being slow but steady.
Omen can lurk, but you can only help your team with smokes and maybe a flash if you're close and want to reveal your location. Astra can lurk and still help her team with abilities that never give away her position, and also she's faster at smoking when far away than any agent. I've watched your vids for years but I think this one is a miss with a few agents
I have to disagree on the controllers. Omen is good at lurking but only has one global ability. His main strengths lie in HOW he can position his smokes as one-ways, floor smokes etc and paranoia being a huge, undodgable flash that's possibly the best ability in the game. Viper on the other hand isn't good because of the decay alone. While she is a really good sentinel on defense because of her ability to stall any push with decay and snakebites, on attack she creates so many question marks (think of the mid orb on icebox). On maps like Breeze she's best just because her wall suits the maps long open spaces.
As a cypher main I would somewhat disagree, yes cypher is extremely strong when holding one specific site with all his util, but cypher is the only agent (other than vyse now but she only has 1 shear) who has universal trip range and the trips can’t be smoked off. This combined with his camera makes cypher the best info sentinel as he can trip one or two sites and let his teammates 5 stack the other site on eco rounds easier.
I'm a Yoru main, and I can definetily say, his real real strenght is in his flashes. You can almost be a Skye; the control you have over them, I mean you can't get info as much as she does, but if you use them correctly, you can definetily support your team almost as much. But it's also about lurking; he's extremely good at faking presence, while maintaining control somewhere else, his ability to almost intantly tp to the other side of the map is broken when used right. Basically, his kit is very flexable at doing that.
I play Sage the most and a common misconception about her is people keep making new players play Sage even though she's probably one of the hardest agents to play if you're still new. Imo Sova is easier for newer players
I think its somewhat wrong to fully think that for Controller's like Brim and Viper (mainly with someone that has mollies) that their molly is used to get a kill. I like to think of it as a way to stall or zone out enemies, then the kill as a bonus cuz if player thinks the "real" strength or objective of a molly is to kill, welp its not always guaranteed and not always right especially if thinking about "real strength."
