May I point out that the animatronic hen would have fallen into the water 🌊 , be electrocuted, and cause a fire 🔥 too?
OMG 37 mins ago hi
Ooh I forgot you had a website!
From how you said it about mr potato head, that does actually sound pretty dark
Another exciting episode of telling animatronics "go home you're drunk"
LMAO.
He ain’t wrong.
😂😂😂
Lol his head is shaking because he's drunk 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
So true
12:00 - Lincoln's hips did not fail. It was his knees that failed - which prevented him being lowered into a sitting position. Thus his upper body is as he was sitting / his arms extended / fingers moving as they would be on the chair's armrests
Interesting
I was wondering why he didn’t sit down😂
Makes sense. The way he was positioned he was looking like a person with bad knees getting ready to sit in the chair but trying to prepare themselves for the pain of bending their knees.
He wasn't broke, he was just catching his breath
Cool
You know about the C3PO, I think it would have been cool if the maintenance guy actually did the repair infront of the guests...
Because it would be canon, and it would be quite the time to see into the robot live...
Yea just have the technician put a costume on, and have a few jokes/lines for them to say, boom you got a new interactive character to entertain the guests while their waiting to ride
@@Dancingwolf325 But he’d still be saying the lines while he’s being repaired and they might have to look inside of him
@@THATSSOMETHINGIKALLABT they can stop the lines, and C3PO is canonically a robot, so opening him up to reveal *gasp* a robot is fine
@@THATSSOMETHINGIKALLABT They meant the mainentance guy having lines, not the animatronic
@@redlikeroses3705 No they meant the Animatronic

These animatronics really are incredible when you think of how complex they are, and how long they run. I'd love to find some videos of someone showing some failures in detail, what went wrong, and how they fix them. Whether it's the actuators or the controllers/software.
For the projected eyes/mouths etc., I've always wondered if it's just consumer grade projectors, or something custom.
If it helps: 'off the shelf' projector brand logos, like LG, have been spotted projected onto faces. This makes me think that they use readily-available projectors, but likely modified (i.e. lens replacement) to either project from a very short throw distance, or to feed light into fibre optic cable (so that the projector doesn't need to be inside the object/animatronic itself). Although they're probably not too dissimilar to consumer-targeted projectors, I presume they use industrial-targeted ones instead (from the same brands) for longevity. I don't work with projectors, but in my line of work we use industrial-targeted screens dubbed 'large format displays', rather than consumer-targeted TVs/computer monitors, for the same reason.
Speculation, but: I could believe that Buzz has a projector in its (large) torso, but the likes of Leota (in parks where Leota is not projected from outside, onto the ball surface) I think uses fibre in some form to bring the projector's light output, from elsewhere, to inside the ball.
I, too, find all of this stuff incredibly interesting, and it's a shame that the industry seems so cloaked in secrecy / so little seems to be shared about the inner workings.
😮

the fact that navi slumped in a very human like way even though the figure was powering off is so interesting

I don't know about you guys, but these malfunctions scare the crap out of me 🤣 especially the last one. The way she crooks her head sideways makes me feel like she's going to lunge out at you.
By the way, it's Statler as in "cat", not as in "stay". The Statler and the Waldorf were two well known hotels in NYC.
In muppet vision 3D its statler as in stay.
@@NoYes78maybe No, it isn't. The characters have been around since the 70s, and the first syllable definitely rhymes with cat.
Statler: I hope it's not stay! I'd rather leave!
In the Dizzy Gillespie episode in Season 4 of The Muppet Show, Waldorf brings his wife (the Statler puppet in drag) who’s appropriately named… Astoria.
Yeah, it's pronounced like "stat", and not like "state".

Nah, that’s just Mater being Mater; Always making us laugh.
Is it just me or is the eye projection for Lightning on Mater?
My folks and I were at Disneyland when "Pirates" attempted to open. Fortunately, we were there a week as each day we would get in line - and boom - something would happen. One time we made it almost to the front of the line, and the ride went down. My Dad who could get information out of almost anyone, found out that one of the characters leaning over the bridge had disconnected and landed in a ladies lap in the boat. We did get on an hour or so later - My Mom was quite hesitant - especially going under bridges ... LOL We were also told that at the end of Mr. Lincoln when the curtain closed, as it did in your video, he would stand back up (obviously not in your case) and they could take his back off and work on what was malfunctioning ... LOL
I've always had a phobia of animatronics but I've been working on it, I think the sleeping shaman just put me back a bit haha. That's terrifying!
Who else gets a big smile on there face when they here that Iconic TPMvids intro?
nobody… like, at all.
2:32 Me, after three 24 oz coffees, on a Monday morning.
4:00 - The creepy part is that there's actually a real disease in chickens that looks like this; where they act oddly disoriented and their head is tilted all the way back.
It's called "stargazer" and can be very deadly.
Wow! That’s scary. 😦 OH WAIT, I’M A CHICKEN!
My mom and I have been waiting for this video!!! We were so excited to see it was posted!!! So many more rides broke down on us on our trip, but we were so lucky she caught shaman’s nap time on camera!!!! Love your videos, and the series so much!!!!
Well that makes 2 of us Julia
THE MOVES LOOK SO REALISTIC WHEN LINCON GOES IN HIS BOW
I wish I would have recorded it, but when I went to DL yesterday, on Cars, the first Mater animatronic was stuck and only Frank’s eyes lit up before the chase scene.
2:10 Buzz looks like every drunk person trying to tell a "monumental" story to uninterested partygoers.
14:48 looks like sharman is tired to move around the way she suddenly dropped without warning
I have never gone to Disney but, with this videos, I can imagine what would it feel to be there.
Honestly, the videos don’t really do the parks justice, with the smells, the feelings you get in your stomach on rides

That's actually quite interesting. When I 1st clicked, I only expected video of the malfunctions, but you went a little deeper and explained a tiny bit about what happened. I would like videos that show exactly what part had a problem (as others in the comments section here have mentioned), but I do recognize the limitations of this channel on that.
That Navi Shaman problem definitely deserves it's spot here, failing on camera. I do wonder what happened there too.
Thanks for adding the commentary like that, it really adds a lot to the footage.

Thanks for clearing up the Mr. Potato Head problem. I saw Mr. Potato Head with his eyes turned on and with subtle movement when I went to Hollywood Studios this summer. I thought it was a malfunction. It looked weird, but the animatronic without eye projections is definitely beyond creepy. Thank you for uploading these videos since I have never seen a malfunction in person.
Its always funny to hear the hoots of laughter from the audience on the ride
I had that exact same Luigi malfunction just last week, and I have a vague memory of seeing it 8 years ago! I wonder if it happens every time, since you can only see it if you're the first car to arrive at the starting line.
Just an fyi for later reference, it's pronounced Stat-ler like statistics instead of state. Otherwise a crazy fun video!
I’m genuinely convinced that I have watched all of the Disney Beat videos at this point! I find them all so fascinating and can literally just binge watch them!
That shaking auctioneer on Pirates was hilarious! Always love these malfunctions!
I about lost it when looked like he was facepalming. Like “avast, not again!”
Pirate guy was going through the DTs
When I saw this: 15:10 : it was my new nightmare. Like it was so weird seeing a animatronic going from completely full of life to completely lifeless!
"I don't think the auctioneer needs any more rum." 😂
2:38 To me, it looks like the auctioneer is on some kind of stimulant, like caffeine. Not a depressant like alcohol
I know you get this a lot, but I just wanted to say that hearing your intro makes me so happy! ive been really stressed the past couple weeks, so it was especially great to hear now.💛
The immediate shutdown in motor driven animatronics is caused by safety overrides that stop the animatronics power when it senses a short; to avoid fire mostly. If the animatronic was pneumatic, it may have lost pressure, etc. The engineering behind it all is cool; I like the projection mapping they used too, I wondered how long before that was going to be implemented.
The cars 🚘 D
This was the best video yet
I always watch your videos before a Disney trip… I have so many good memories of binging them right before getting on a plane or as I’m getting ready to go to Magic Kingdom. Thank you for continuing to inspire me and brighten up my day 😊

I love animatronic malfunctions! They're so funny 😂. Can you make a video of your favorite rides at Disneyworld and Disneyland? You can do it all in one video or have one video for Disneyland and another for Disneyworld!

Abe Lincoln: “Hands on my knees, shakin' a$$, on my th0t sh*t. Post me a pic, finna make me a profit”
When I went it on wasn’t Buzz that broke down but it was the actual ride. The entire time we were on the ride would go and stop. It happened for quite a while. At another park (Hollywood Studios), I was able to get on the new Rise of the Resistance and the ride completely shut down when we were at the beginning of the ride/getting onto the attraction. We had to wait 30 minutes to 1-2 hours for them to get the ride back up and going but we were able to get on and stay after hours because of it. It was weird to see the park empty because it was after hours but they let everyone who was able to get a ticket to get on, ride so that was good :)
These are my absolute favorite videos to watch! I love to educate my family about all the fun facts I learn about on this channel 😄 keep up the great work!!

I can’t believe it’s part 13 already! I’ve been watching since part 1!!
Tpm’s videos never get old there just always so good!
Hooray!!! Part 13 I’m very impressed👍
I love these videos! I've been to Disneyland about a dozen times since 1999, and have been on Splash Mountain every trip regardless of weather. I've only seen the animatronics fully work ONCE on that ride. Something is always wrong...and the riverboat chorus is usually the worst. When I rode it in July, only 1 animatronic wasn't working correctly - Breer Rabbit on the handcart - but Breer Rabbit worked. The handcart didn't move. That was the closest to perfection that ride sees. Also in July, every pirate in the burning city sans the singing trio were static. The kenetic energy of the ride just stopped. It was kinda sad to see. I get that water rides are costly to maintain, but - and I hate to say this - with the amount of money I pay to be in the parks I would hope that some of it would go to maintenance? I know not everything can work 100% 12 hours a day and the ride mechanics/vehicles are more important to keep maintained, but having a large amounts of the show bots not working is not a good look. I would rather that hefty price tag go towards keeping the rides looking good as much as riding well. As much as I find broken/malfunctioning animatronics fascinating and sometimes a unique highlight to a trip, I feel like it's happening more often...even after a 400+ day pandemic closure.
god i was so happy to see this, i LIVE for these particular videos!!!
