Those scissor switches between the express tracks really came in handy. There's a Homeball Alley between 34th and 42nd Sts. that is set up to turn trains in either direction. They used 34th St. as a terminus for years before the express tracks were finished all the way to West 4th St.
I find it interesting that when D trains terminated at Bryant Park, they only used the downtown side, but when the A trains terminated there, they used both tracks. 🤔
Maybe cause the A was running every 10 minutes could have been why? when the D was only using one side that's because it was running every 12 min I mean it kinda supprised me when I saw it from someone else wasn't like that when I went Saturday morning at 7am but that's likely since trains aren't frequent at that time
@ I feel like the intervals shouldn’t matter, there was no work taking place on the uptown side when D trains terminated there, and slow crews can lead to backups that necessarily don’t have to happen.
@justjxyy Well they didn't want more congestion. Plus, there's no reason for the C because it has no where else to go to terminate and the A running in 2 sections.

Embarrassing that they do not have reroute destinations programmed
They could've sent A trains to 96. This G.O was trash.
cant have the a and q at 96. the Q is on a 8 min headway atleast.
This general order was trash dawg there was no C trains

@@AlgonquinRider810 they def can 96th st is good at turning trains and whenver problems occur on 6th ave they are quick to send B/D trains up there
