    I just bought this two months ago for home renovation projects. I use it a few times a day, and have still not needed to recharge the battery once since its initial charge. The blade that comes with it is so impressive, everything cuts smooth like soft pine, even plywood and hardwood. I love this saw.

    The fact that Milwaukee is doing it at 18 volts vs 54 volts for Dewalt is pretty impressive on its own.

  • @jmc88480

    It was stated very quickly, but it is amazing to hear that there was a consensus that the Milwaukee actually has more power with their 18 volt platform.

    Phenomenal video with unparalleled effort. I keep finding myself watching your videos every time you release a new one thinking these guys are going tooth and nail to become the best tool review youtube channel on the planet earth.
    Your growth will continue to grow - just make sure your youtube title names are on the mark, think what people will search for in the right words, especially when doing those huge comparison tests for each type of tool, those videos can easily draw a million views worldwide.
    Much appreciated for the time and effort you yourself Rob and your crew/friends put in to making these videos available worldwide all for free for the viewer.
    You sir are doing a fine job both on the video and text side with your website, thumbs up as always.

    Thank you, Rob, for taking the time to produce another excellent, thorough, and unbiased review. Personally, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Makita will come out with a 36v X2 cordless table saw. I have their 36v tracksaw (sold my corded Festool to get it) and 36v miter saw and they've both been absolutely brilliant.

    I’m needing a smaller saw for this upcoming season and even though I’m fully vested into the M12/M18 platform? It’s great to see that Dewalt’s original efforts have held the test of time. (Hats off to Dewalt, and kudos to Milwaukee.)

    As usual thank you for the solid and fair reviews. There are so many reviewers doing this a side gig with Little experience in the trade.
    I know you are truthful and thorough with your reviews.
    After watching this I’m certain that you could go either way and be in good shape.
    I have a ton of Milwaukee batteries and Dewalt flexvolt batteries as well. I think it’s a toss up for the table saw, but Dewalt has Milwaukee on the miter saws.

    They should make these cordless saws with a cord, just so you have the option. Also the saw should have a battery charger for the battery powered saw built right into it. Also another great idea offered as an ''option'' would be a generator that is pedal powered like those old stationery bicycles. They should also start making the ''table'' portion of the ''table saws'' out of solar panels that power the battery charger built into the saws. They should also make the saws with one or more of those generators that produce energy from movement/shaking like those flashlights that are already available, this way the saw charges up in the van/truck any time it's moved like on the ride to work. They should also add a light to the saws and built them right into it, this way you can see when moving it around at night or working in the dark. The saws should also have a corded radio built into/onto it that plugs into the table saw for power, the radio should also power ports for charging of backup batteries. A built-in coffee maker ('Mr. Milwaukee'?) would be nice... but that would also be a little over the top crazy...
    Thanks Rob

      Atlas tools and mississauga hardware have it for $699 with extra 12 volt. But if you can wait I was speaking to milwaukee reps at home depot and in mid August I believe it will be $599 with extra battery. Having a big release than.

    • @EchiLoki
      @EchiLoki 6 лет назад +1

      Yeah I was going to get it from BC Fasteners (closer to home) for the same free battery deal. Its tempting to wait for the price drop but I'm just one of those suckers that has to jump on a deal and can never roll the dice on a deal later ahaha. Especially when right out the gate, those batteries are $290 a piece. There's almost no other way I'll be getting 12 Ah battery at this early point in my contracting career.

    Agree with your crews who said the milwaukee TS seems to have more power. Feels like roughly 10% more powerful during use. Dewalt cordless TS had good power also during use. Always need a sharp blade also, not only for safety, but also for decent battery runtime on these units.

    Thank you for this review. This is the kind of information I was looking for and pretty much solidified my decision. Most of my tools are Milwaukee with the exception of my Makita LXT miter. As much as I have enjoyed all my corded DeWalt saws, I really didn't want to be in the position of juggling so many different batteries and chargers. It seems that both table saws are excellent little saws so going with either is just fine.

    Running at higher voltages favours less I2R (heat loss) and allows for smaller wire in motor windings. I agree with your extrapolation regarding the DeWalt's cutting capacity with a 12AH battery. I'd even suggest it will be better as the internal resistance of that battery will be even less resulting in less I2R losses with the battery heating up.

    Good work as always. Milwaukee definitely takes designs and adds to them, all their tools are top notch. They have some nifty one off tools as well.
    I have the Flexvolt saw and would be happy to own either. I wish the Dewalt saw have two miter slots and dado capability, but I haven't need them yet. I was still able to make a scarfing jig and crosscut sled work with one miter slot. I still have some Milwaukee tools around the garage from before I switched and I'm happy with both sets. Both tools sets have had their issues, but are great.

  • @wildbill23c
    @wildbill23c 6 лет назад +1

    I think the biggest thing when it comes to which tool line to get is where you start. If you start buying Makita, Ryobi, etc. that's what you will stick with because you already have the batteries and chargers. Where the issue starts is someone just starting to buy cordless tools...that's where your run times and power would come more into play I assume? I don't have the Dewalt cordless saw, but I really wonder how much the lack of having 2 miter slots would make in a production type job? I know i use them quite a bit on my Ridgid contractor saw, and my Skil portable saw so the lack of that one miter slot may be a huge deal for some.
    Great review by the way. I like when people review stuff who aren't biased for or against a particular brand....thank you.

    • @DoubleD72
      @DoubleD72 6 лет назад

      Also where you live. I am in Middle America and you just don't see Makita, or Hitachi table saws and other tools and brands full line. there are times where I needed a new tool ASAP and going with a few of those brands I just mentioned would be more troublesome. don't have the time to wait for a tool to be ordered and delivered.

    Thanks for the review Rob. And your corded table saw the other day was your best yet ever seen from all channels related to a review. You put some money, time and tech into that review!
    You didn't commit either way between Dewalt and Milwaukee? I can't stomach another battery platform in 60 volt depsite having most dewalt 20 volt tools. I think unless dewalt comes out with some crazy 60 volt tools it's not worth it.
    At the end of the day you will always have two batteries so linear foot cuts are really not that important. I don't think one would run out of juice in 2018 with battery technology where its at and Milwaukee will just release a newer battery in 2019. Most legit trades in 2018 will have a Festool track and mft set up to compliment there tools and be using a tables saw for ripping and than finishing up on the Mft3. The rough carpenters may need a plug in machine because accuracy is not the crucial and just need to be constantly rip and banging away... But it sounds like the Milwaukee can handles this also!
    What I find most important is the rack and pinion fence and the fact that lowering and raising the blade has been significantly reduced. Would love the saw stop gearing in it!
    How is the mitre cuts and accuracy?
    Any chance you can compare powered 120 to cordless?
    Keep up the great work!

Way better then the Dewalt Imho.

    I might be the only home woodworker with a garage shop too small to put in the full-sized table saw I want, but I doubt it. While I can bring home sheets of plywood, I lack the room for a table saw inside the garage. I do have room to store a portable jobsite saw like this, and since I am invested in the M18 tool/battery system, I'm buying myself this saw. I can carry it 20 feet to my flat driveway and do my cutting there, instead of waiting for the lumberyard to cut my plywood down on their panel saw, or trying to make loooong straight cuts with a circular saw out in the driveway.
    Corded jobsite saw perhaps? Sorry, my little garage has two 15a circuits - one of which is shared with the outlets on the adjacent wall in the living room! If I run a 13-15a tool on the shared circuity, it'll pop. If I run it on the unshared circuit, I have to shut off a couple of things first. I'd rather go cordless, since I already have eight M18 batteries in various Ah sizes, and I'd get the 12.0Ah batt combo kitted with the saw.

    I think your extrapolation has an error. It would be 33 x 12/9, which is 44 cuts expected from the DeWalt 12AH. However, the higher density cells are known to test below their capacity at high draws.

No you would not use a vacuum for dust collector on a job site in almost all cases. simmer down little buddy it was a tool review. and good for him for wanting to be clean. because as a contractor I will be the first to say 99% of you guys are messy AF and NEVER clean up after yourselves. good lord people are ignorant.

    I think you made an error, on your DeWalt extrapolation, you changed the cost per cut from 4.9 to 4.9 wh per cut

    What good is the 60v flexvolt line then. If it still just comes down to amp hours. I figured there would be no way possible a 18 volt saw could keep up with a 54 volt saw.

    Not all Milwaukee products are the best in every category, but they are always at the top. That being said, this table saw is the better saw, run time can always be taken care of with another battery and a charger since the M18 batteries will work on this saw. As always a great review. Keep up the good work, I love your reviews.

    There's just some things I don't mind running a cord for. If it's stationary I'll run a cord. If I have to move it around I want cordless.

      If Milwaukee would make their tools capable of also running off AC power I would exclusively buy Milwaukee tools. I will never buy a table saw that can't also be plugged in when cutting at the shop.

    Great review thx! It all depends on which battery brand you have already invested in so even if Dewalt is better I’m so invested in Milwaukee batteries already

      rich hubert hitachi has their multi-volt saw coming out this summer or q3. We’re planning a cordless table saw head to head with Dewalt, Milwaukee, and the Hitachi when that saw is released. Jeff @ ToolBoxBuzz

    Great video. As for the saw, Ive yet to see any cordless table saws in my neck of the woods. Who's using them? By the time table saws hit a house there is power already. Sheathing maybe?

    Does One-Key allow you to change the blade speed? If so, would slowing it down from 6300 RPM to 5800 RPM to match DeWalt's speed change the Wh/cut calculation?

    • @Jeffrey_Williams
      @Jeffrey_Williams 6 лет назад +1

      MidnightInsight no, it doesn’t allow speed changes. Lockout, location, and inventory (check in, check out) are the ONE-KEY features implemented on this saw.

    This makes no sense to be that it would not have an AC plug to use with conjunction with a cord?! Wow. If it had that I would consider it. Amazing.

      I would probably buy one if it had a cord also, and it would charge the battery when it was plugged in. 600 lf until the battery runs out isnt much IMO

    If you use this commercially, buy a second large, 9 or 12 amp hour battery. I'm a DIY guy and use 5, 9 and 12 hour amp. hour batteries. I built my own cabinet with left side extension, and out feed table that fold down. I am now using a circ. saw blade, that is quieter and improves battery life. There is a clip to hold the saw to the stand... Try it.

      thecookster92 they need to. I believe it would have been a great way to show off the 12.0 battery instead of just upgrading the motor of their current circ saw.
