Hi, Robin! I just got my 17-key kalimba days ago. I am so happy with it. I still cant play it well as I am growing my nails to play it. I can play it but it is really painful to use my skin. I compromised despite my hate of having long nails. God bless. Stay safe.

I was torn between whether to buy a 17 keys or 21 keys kalimba. I have a 17 keys kalimba for almost a year now, but it's a cheap one which doesn't provide good sound/tone. I have practiced a few song but always get demotivated by its low quality sound. So, I decided to buy a new one, i was scared if I could play a 21 key kalimba or not, also i have to think wisely as I wouldn't get another chance to buy another kalimba anytime soon, as it's pricey for me... But I've to say, your videos are really helpful. I've already watched your review on lingting k21w kalimba more than 3times in last few days. And specially this video really motivated me to go for 21 keys... I know I could play it if I practice enough, still it feels better to hear the same thing from another person! Thank you so much for your videos...! 😊
I assume going to 21 keys would necessarily make the kalimba wider, so it may be a bit more difficult, or more of a stretch let's say, to reach the middle keys, which are the main keys. For someone like me who has short thumbs, this may pose an added challenge. And besides, going from 17 to 21 is just adding 4 keys, presumably to play four higher notes, and I'm not sure how big a difference that would make. But then again, expanding four keys out of seventeen is nearly 25%, so it could be significant.

Thank you so much for that, it was very much needed. Blessings!

Thanks for this video! I all of a sudden had an urge to buy a kalimba lol. I think I was thinking of the music box intro in Phantom of the Opera and thought, I want to play that... and here I am. Looking forward to get one now! It has such a beautiful tone and sound. Very excited!
Hi! I just got my 21 keys two days ago. The one with a hollow. Luckily no dead tines. But ehhh.... it’s a bit confusing to play. But as you get used to it. To where’s the keys/letter notes, It’s okay. You can play song with more lower note and etc. if using a real piano sheet. 21 keys is a great way to go for it and use it. But for me I still prefer the flatboard 21 keys then the hollow tho. The problem wasn’t the tone or the way the tines sound. They were sweet. And the tines where soft, but. It’s was way to loud with the hole of the kalimba on hollow type. And wasn’t melody type of tones. I’m going to save up another money to get a different 21 keys, one with flatboard. Aka: lingting. The hluru flatboard kind of expensive. So I’m going to try getting the 21 keys lingting flatboard. But I’m stilling going to used my hollow 21 keys kalimba for video recording. Since it’s loud and won’t need to used a mic for it. 🙈
Hi! Oooh! I see i see. Thank you for sharing that! I haven't tried the hollow 21 keys yet, so this input that you have given is very informative and insightful. Well, I'm excited for you to try the lingting 21 then. 🥰❤️
@@TipsKalimba same. Can't wait to have a lingting. But I'll probably going to have to saved up some money for it. Might take me months to saved up some. Because its hard to look for job these day. 😞

I think for someone who is interested to getting a kalimba first time it's better to start with 17 key and after few time getting 21 key will be good i mean at the end you should get them both however it cheaper anyway
I would like to ask. I am a beginner and recently I received a kalimba (17 keys). I tried to learn the melodies but some of the keys sound completely different from the video. Please tell me the solution to this problem.
Amazing information I'd love to get a kalimba.. but I'm afraid I won't be able to since my father might lose his job due to a person who wants to get him out. We might have to live with our grandmother if things get worse.. Prayers will be appreciated ♡♡

Do we need to learn the musical notes for us to tune our kalimba? I am very confused because the sharps and flats are new terms to me I don't understand them
Hello! Well you just need to know the notes your kalimba needs. Very reason why beginners are recommended to have a C tone kalimba because it has no sharps and flats. I do plan on making a video to explain this in simple terms if that would interest you.
Hi! I wanted to start playing kalimba, so a beginner, but I play violin and have musical experience before that too, do you thinks I could pull out with the 21 key one? So, i did watch this Video and i found it very helpful. So im going to Buy a Kalimba 17keys. Good job. Subscription Button pressed!.😍🥰🙏👌
Thank you for your excellent videos, my question is; will you get the same melody by pressing the keys in the same positions on the kalimba. That is; could I pretend the 21 key F tuned is a C tuned and play the same way, will I get the same song?

I had to change the way i read the tabs. I always used to use the letters because most people did it, but honestly i used numbers and im much more confident 👍😁
Yup! Do what works for you. It will make life waaaay easier ❤️
I've been subbed for awhile now and it really helped me in learning the kalimba, so thank you! I also love how you bless and pray for your viewers ^-^ Not really much related but, that message about hope really confirmed on what the Lord has spoken to me♡ God bless you as well!°•~☆
Trix! Thank you for sharing this with me. Sometimes i feel that people don't reach or finish the video to that part, but knowing that it reaches at least one, is more than enough for me🥰 so thank you for letting me know. God is so good. Sending my love to you, Trix ❤️
Awww rly? You're more than welcome! I always finish your videos, your blessings always lift my soul and it's as if the Holy Spirit speaks to me ^-^. I pray that the Lord will continue to guide you and that you will continue to trust in Him. I'm very grateful to know that you're a fellow believer as well :)
again, thank you for this informative video. ❤️
i have been eyeing a 21 key kalimba for a while now and just recently ordered one. can't wait for my new baby! 😍
Oh i love it! Is it a hluru or the one from LingTing? 😍
Hluru 21 keys, but the more affordable model. 😊 The class a walnut kalimba is an eye candy but the price is 🤑.
Hahaahaha! I agree with you on the price. Well, i hope it arrives in good shape and that you enjoy it 🥰
Thank you so much for your videos!! They always make my heart warm!
Oh thank you for sharing this with me, it gives me great joy to know that our videos gives you that warmth in your heart, Victoria. Greetings from the Philippines 😊❤️
Yay! I am so exited I am going to get a 17 key Kalimba for Christmas 🎄 and I can’t wait!
Aaaah!! Congratulations! So exited for you, Hannah! 😍❤️
Oh my goodness I feel like your prayer/blessing went right to my soul. I was in a bad accident and I have a broken shoulder and I've just felt so debilitated and hopeless. Usually when I'm sad I play piano or ukulele but I can't now. I've actually started looking into getting a kalimba because I think I could play it even on bed rest but I haven't been able to yet:( thank you so much for your videos and your kind words!!
Hi Naomi. Thank you for opening this up to me. I'm sorry to hear about what happened, but you are strong and most of all, alive.
Can you move your fingers already?
@@TipsKalimba yes! I can move them but I don't have feeling in some of them. I can also move my wrist which I'm super thankful for
Well, i think you are able to play a kalimba then, Naomi. 😊
@@TipsKalimba I can't wait to get one! Thank you for being so inspiring
Do tell me how it goes 😍
Well, you're the inspiring one to be honest. 🥰
hi tips kalimba, im a beginner in playing the kalimba and i bought the 21 key kalimba, however i dont really see many videos on 21 key kalimba
i suggest u too pls make some vids on them especially tutorials
Helpful. Thanks.
I prefer playing by ear instead of following notes. Which one should I choose?
Thank you for this video!!
Haha I'm coming too late though because I have a 15 key one and I'm trying to find the equivalents of the 17 keys songs so I can put stickers on them ahah but I don't think it's possible :c
Hello! I just discovered your video today, as I was researching which kalimba would be the best for me to buy. I was pleasantly surprised with the blessing and the message at the end. I have been going through a very rough time lately with anxiety (I am hoping playing the kalimba will help, it is a very peaceful sound), and it was amazing to hear your message at the end. Thank you so much for that, it was very much needed. Blessings!
Wow, thank you so much for sharing this with me. I may not know the depths of what you are going through, but God does, and He sees you. Sending you love, Hannah. ❤️
Thanks for this video! I all of a sudden had an urge to buy a kalimba lol. I think I was thinking of the music box intro in Phantom of the Opera and thought, I want to play that... and here I am. Looking forward to get one now! It has such a beautiful tone and sound. Very excited!
Woaaah! Is that the actual song? "Phantom of the Opera"? Since they do have a lot of songs played. I want to hear it 😍❤️
Thank you for your tips, very informative, I'll choose to buy 17keys. 😘
Thanks for the video. 17 key is where I am going to start as a beginner
Sounds good, Tony! 😉
How do you tune a 21 key kalimba? I got one and I'm confused on how to do it.
Hi! Thanks for this video, now I can decide which one 1 will buy. My son and I are planning to learn this, so I guess we should get the 17keys first.
Glad it was helpful! :D
Hey, I am new🙂
And i like your viedeos a lot you are a very good teacher 💕🥰😅
Can you please make a review about the kimi Kalimba? Because it looks very pretty but I’m not sure about the sound and if it is good? 😕💕
Sorry for my bad English
Hi Bunia! You have a beautiful name by the way. You can check this video out,

I do like the kimi kalimba too. It's one of my favorites 😍
Thank you for answering. The video was very helpful💕🥰🥺
where can I buy engraved Lingting K17A?
hi! at the moment they do not have any engravements for their product line, but they do have pre-cut stickers included with is way cleaner than the other kalimba brand :)
She is adorable 🥺
Wow, thank you for thinking so. 🥰❤️
I appreciate your detailed and positive assessments of the Kalimba key preferences. More importantly , I appreciate your blessing at the end which implies that you are a Believer in Jesus. Thank you for the presentation.
HE'S my everything 🥰
New sub! First off, I like the videos you make, very helpful. 💕
I got the 17 key, I'm a newbie on kalimbas. I used to play piano, I just moved into another house and I was thinking of purchasing a tiny piano but the kalimba has been a long interest of mine so I finally got it.
I have to admit, the 21 key is very tempting to get. 😅
Oooh! Welcome, @Arcana Lumina! (Your name reminds me so much of D&D i love it!
When you said tiny piano, is this the one with a wooden body that's extremely cute? 😲
Hahahaha! Yes, i so agree with you on the 21 key. A lot of our tab arrangers here are eyeing on it 😄
@@TipsKalimba Hello! Wow, nice to see your reply, its a baby piano, just a tinier version of a grand piano but still not portable enough to carry around. 😅
I think i can picture it now. You had me at "still not portable enough to carry around " 😆❤️
@@TipsKalimba Thank goodness for kalimbas. Very portable indeed. 😄👍
Ugh so true! Plus it's so cute. Like a bigger sized music box 😍❤️
hii❤️ i wanted to clean the stickers from the tines of my kalimba and i used hand sanitizer because it worked well, is it okay? im kinda worried :(
I have a question when a kalimba come
Is it tune or not?
It depends on the brand so it's better to learn how to tune it 😉
New subscriber here. Thank you for the video content and also thank you for the positive messages you bring. They are appreciated. Also, I got a good laugh at the end! I look forward to getting started on a new instrument, and I am sure that I will be getting tips from Tip's in the future :)
You are always welcome in this platform, Tommy! Glad you are here. 😄
I enjoyed your video. I've never thought there would ne a 21-key kalimba 😲
So glad you enjoyed it, Yen! Yes, me too! But i am so glad that it does exist now 🥰
Wohoo new vid ❤️ I bought the LingTing K17a after watching your review 😄 shipping is going to be so delayed though
Aaah! Perfect choice! It's already tuned to C too. Not like other brands that are tuned to B. I think you will enjoy it ❤️🤗
I think for someone who is interested to getting a kalimba first time it's better to start with 17 key and after few time getting 21 key will be good i mean at the end you should get them both however it cheaper anyway
Really cool video background, your videos are sooo awesome 🤍
Leonie, thank you so much for saying that 🥰

I would like to ask. I am a beginner and recently I received a kalimba (17 keys). I tried to learn the melodies but some of the keys sound completely different from the video. Please tell me the solution to this problem.
Amazing information
I'd love to get a kalimba.. but I'm afraid I won't be able to since my father might lose his job due to a person who wants to get him out.
We might have to live with our grandmother if things get worse..
Prayers will be appreciated ♡♡
Than you for opening this up to us. I cant even imagine how it must be like.
But do know that you have the whole Tip's kalimba family backing you up in prayer. Hug... ❤️
I hope everything has gone alright.
@amirreza, i agree ❤️

As much as i can, i do. That's so nice of you to notice 😊
Can you do a video on a 10 key Kalimba?
I just bought a 17 key model. I can’t wait to learn to play. I wonder if I’m the first blind person to play calimba.
That's amazing! Have you tried playing it already?
@@TipsKalimba I’ve tried some, I’m slowly getting the hang of it.
Hey I’m new I’m gonna get a acrylic kalimba🤗I’m really excited I had a mini one but I lost it😕but I’m getting a new one☺️
Ooh that is so great to hear that you are getting an acrylic, Alexis!
Hahaha, thanks for the special mention Pee! I'm mastering my twinkle in the kalimba now 😆 lep rayt lep rayt it is!
Hahahahah! Yes of course, Pee! Minsan patingin ng ever famous lep rayt lep rayt playing mo 😆 😍
@@TipsKalimba Thank you so much! You are very kind and amazing❤️❤️❤️
Thanks !!!
Yo me compré una de 21 por qué pensé que podría hacer más canciones con ella
Hi! Can you speak about the 8 keys kalimba, please?
Eh pano po kung naa out of tune yung kalimba ko? May suggestions po ba kayo kung paano siya i-tune?

Cuz I really enjoy classical music as well and there are more pieces u can play with 21 key kalimba. Also what brand do you recommend ? Kalimba is really expensive here so I really want to by the best one I can afford

Buy books and cheack online is way i do it
I have a music baground so should I go for the 21 key???
Hi. Have you decided which to get?:)

Thank you for your excellent videos, my question is; will you get the same melody by pressing the keys in the same positions on the kalimba. That is; could I pretend the 21 key F tuned is a C tuned and play the same way, will I get the same song?
Oh i got a video on that. Do check it out 🥰

I'm a beginner but I brought a 21 key so that when I graduate from doing 17 key pieces so I don't need to buy a 21 layer
I just ordered a 21 key kalimba and I never played it before, but I had to get it because it is a good kalimba that pro uses but it was half off!!

As a pianist i find it quite easy to adapt "piano notes" to kalimba.. i don't bother the lack of tabletures that use 21 keys.. but the price tho.... it's just too expensive for me😢.. might wanna wait couple more years till they release the cheaper version
Oh that's so cool that you are a pianist. I'm fascinated by people who are talented in the piano ❤️ well i think waiting on the cheaper version sounds fine 😊
@Arian Ansari Irani well not really.. I'm quite a beginner and only use piano in from my school.... i definitely couldn't bought a piano even the electric one
Yehey Philipino ka pala Philipino din ako!!!!!
