30 years ago my Dad said that Islam would seek political power in this country beginning in local councils and school boards. Then they would want to become mayors then eventually MPs. Once at that level, they would then see to rewrite the laws and broadcasting. i thought he was over the top, but he was actually very wise.

Absolutely true. Unfortunately, what I’ve noticed is that as we bring in more people who are using our countries as ATMs there is little desire to assimilate. Traditionally immigrants assimilated and THEN got the benefits of living in a free and open society. When people get the benefits front loaded the desire to assimilate evaporates. As an aside, my daughter spent a month in Europe last summer and loved England. Great people and wonderful history.

Just reading the morning papers is like like scrolling through mug shots from a third world country. Some poor 16 year old girl has been assaulted overnight and a man of unknown height, build or race is on the run... that means only one thing.
Everybody knows how it works by now. If the police or media haven't given a description of the perp within the first 24 hours (particularly in an incident where there were multiple witnesses), you can pretty much guarantee they aren't white British. The hesitancy to give a description is usually is all the description you need (just look at the Sasha Johnson shooting).

What's likely to happen at a local level is a rise of muscular patriotic candidates standing for election to councils for the values of integration and reversing widespread halal food in public sector catering contracts. Realistically, heavily Muslim areas will become even more so, so we end up with uniform Muslim ghettos across the UK where non-Muslims won't even want to enter, even if allowed. Utility companies staffed by white British workers might need to be escorted in or overseen, then leave.

Very interesting discussion on both subjects. I have had a rude awakening on the topic of immigration. I’m Australian and grew up with the second generation of immigrants of Greece and Italy after the war. Then in the seventies we had an influx of Vietnamese refugees, later many Indian and Chinese. Most of which have not only integrated but added to our society with their culture, food, religion and festivals. So I believed that the following immigration of people from Muslim countries would be the same. However I have been proven so wrong. My misplaced belief that we need to just show tolerance and understanding would eventually lead to them integrating. Sadly this is not and never will be the case. Muslim people see the western world as weak and immoral. They arrive here to make money, sometimes fraudulently by illegal means or taking advantage of our liberal government policies meant to assist not to manipulate. However many also work hard and send much of their money back to their families. I have experienced being leered at by young Muslim men became I’m not covered head to toe as they demand of their wives. I’ve read of gang rape cases committed by these men who have no regrets, because after all She asked for it, their only regret is that they were caught. Yet our government continues to increase the immigration rate as crime and violence increases. 😢 my innocence is gone my naivety has gone. I’d considered myself to be a person who would always advocate for freedom for all cultures and religions. I’m sorry to say that I now want all Muslim to be denied entry to any Christian country, any country that is based on Christianity cannot accept anyone who believes that they are the one and only religion. Surely that says it all.

There's no such thing as a 'British Muslim'.. there are Muslims who live in Britain and that's it.. and they will happily describe themselves in that way. They are here for a reason, and it has nothing to do with being British.

Seems like it’s gone are the days when immigrants thank their host country for allowing them the privilege of starting a new life. When western societies assume that we have to adapt to those coming into our society as opposed to those adapting to their new environment. In Canada we have changed the names of holidays to be “winter break “ instead of Christmas holiday so that no one is offended. It’s appalling. My grandfather was an immigrant from a tiny Caribbean island and when he raised my father and his siblings he had them learn to skate and play hockey as well as basketball. My immigrant grandfather taught me how to be a proud Canadian while he continued to listen to his calypso music and poured hot sauce on everything he ate. He wore a Canadian pin on his lapel every day to work. That wouldn’t happen today would it.

I have also boycotted Waitrose/John Lewis because of their staff magazine devoting a whole issue to glorifying the 'trans' Religion/Industry, including telling girls how to obtain and use 'breast-binders', which are extremely damaging, and promulgating the usual lies about 'trans kids', 'reversibility of puberty-blockers', harmlessness of wrong-sex hormones, etc.
This is a sacrifice for me, as I can't get King Charles's organic ice cream anywhere else!

My parent’s immigrated from Ireland to England during the 1940’s. for economic reasons. They moved to the U.S. in the 1960’s. In England and the U.S. , I remember my family being grateful for the opportunities provided by these countries. Initially we stayed close to our Irish relatives, but eventually we integrated within our community. It is extremely disturbing seeing the lack of leadership from our leaders in England and the U.S.
Church's closing is not a problem, we should be secular, need to be secular, so we can fight this sect.

My Muslim carer doesn’t have an original thought. It is impossible to have her listen to reasoned debate because her entire existence is based on the Koran. She has been taught how to deflect any question. She does her best to help me but is quite thick.

That doesn't necessarily follow. Christianity brought the West freedoms, including the freedom to decide whether to be Christian or not. Islam does not have the same attitude.
Given my skewed view having never lived under a Christian ruled England. I still get the impression that it would’ve been better than the strange ideology of complete acceptance while throwing differences and reality under the rug that we’ve got now - what do you think ?

Christianity is the basis of Western Civilisation, having introduced public hospitals, many charities, universal education, the university system, modern science, and many freedoms, and spreading democracy, raising the status of women, and twice abolishing slavery.
@@jacobkenney5646 I speak mainly of the catholic faith and being brought around that. My headteacher was a nun. I witnessed 1st hand what women had endure on the advice from the local priest and never to question that decision. Women ( and men) being subjected to violence and abuse within the home but divorce was out of the question. Like Ireland , Scotland had major issues with sectarian violence and not encouraged to marry into another faith. Sadly elements of this still remain today but certainly not on the scale of what we had. Religion should not influence what happens in our political system but in recent years that seems to be happening with a certain faith. I’ve been accused of being far right or the racist and I can assure you that this is not so. I’m from a mixed race background, have many friends that practice other religions including Islam, Hindu and Sikh. The difference is we all respect each other and do not try and impose our beliefs on others.
