Robin havey was the person that got me into investing, his a regular/average guy working and just investing and learning along the way. His very relatable and that makes it really comforting to watch. Canadian in a T-shirt was the person who taught me everything that you NEED to learn regarding investing, taxation and so much more. I'm so glad somebody finally broke the AQN silence. Started purchasing at $18, and then after it started dropping, I waited until it hit $7. Then I went bullish until I hit $10 average share price. Never purchased it for the dividend but to diversify utility type and geography. I'm hoping for a focus on debt payments to reduce costs and return growth.
This is really cool to see a lot of different people in the perspective.
It was interesting to see all the different type of investing 😃. I would love to see Daniel Pronk next time, I thought he was missing.

I think AQN is a great buy now. The lower the price, the lower the risk. Imagine if rates go down in 3 years, you're looking at an easy 2 bagger. Also if Kentucky Power goes through, it will really help cashflow!

In hindsight it's crazy how good some of Cass's holdings are. To be holding Nasdaq 100, S&P 500, Nvidia, Google, Tesla, and Apple one year ago is pretty exceptional. If her portfolio was more concentrated in to these, and they were sold at opportune times over the following year... cha ching!
Was interesting to hear all your different styles of investing and see your portfolios. Perhaps another collab video could cover your opinions on the current market landscape (overvalued, undervalued, etc.) and overall market sentiment. "I'm not leaving" at the end was priceless as well hahaha. Thanks folks

Just a warning, Adrian PII aka Passive Income Investing is not retired nor does he live off his portfolio income. He runs a full time business with his youtube channel which contains sponsored content along with selling digital products.
Warning against what? You may be confused about the word “retirement”. As far as I understand, they are “financially independent”. This doesn’t mean you sit on the beach and drink beer for the rest of your life. It means you are free to do whatever you want, when you want, how you want and where you want. If Adriano chooses to make money by selling his ideas, all power to him. He’s helped thousands of people become financially independent, so as far as I’m concerned it’s a win/win situation. As far as sponsored videos, he’s introducing his viewers to fund managers for detailed info on their products and strategies. They sponsor his videos for exposure to DIY investors. When we as viewers get this free and readily accessible info, we decide for ourselves whether the products being discussed are something we want to invest in, so I don’t see a conflict. Again, please explain what the warning is about.
@@hjk3227 Is this a real reply? The purpose of sponsors on RUclips is to monetize your channel. You actually believe this is "for exposure to DIY investors". Do you have any idea what the purpose of RUclips is at all? Or was this entire one and a half hour video not a long infomercial for Blossom Social? If you believe running a full time business means being "financially independent" then there's no more I can say to you. I'm sure Adriano's $300 an hour one on one sessions are also charitable acts for DIY investors (but remember, he doesn't give financial advice).
@@rh3108 Yes, of course I understand that having sponsors is to monetize the channel. The sponsors pay Adriano a fee in order to showcase their investing products and strategies to 57K DIY subscribers. You as a viewer can choose to accept or reject their products and their strategies. Nobody is forcing you to invest.
For sure the video was a quasi infomercial for Blossom, but there were some great tidbits of info throughout, such as seeing different viewpoints and ideas, introducing you to channels you may not have known about, and again helping you as a viewer decide how you want to invest. If you don't like it, don't watch it. You seem to think the world owes you the favour of providing you with a continuous flow of free information, and if someone dares to monetize all their hard work, they somehow need to be warned against.
If you believe being financially independent means doing nothing, then there's no more I can say to you. Adriano operates his business because he 'wants' to, not because he 'needs' to. See the difference?
If you think Adriano's $300 an hour sessions are too expensive for the value you receive, here's an idea; don't book an appointment! If you don't agree with his ideas, stop watching him. If you don't agree with his recommendations, do some research on your own, and invest as you wish.
Again, to my main question, what is the warning about? Adriano making money from his research and ideas? Or is it the fact that he's not "retired", based on your idea of what retirement should be? If you have nothing meaningful to say, just crawl back to your parents' basement and STFU
Honestly, I watched this on Feb 6 2024, and I smiled for all seconds of this video. As a Jamaican/Canadian I am so proud of you guys. I have always been in investing but not anything serious more, retirement investing and to my surprised I earned so much not doing anything in those accounts and ETF and Index funds came to mind and I watch you videos going forward I am investing monthly in ETFs

I follow Warren Buffet - unfortunately - Berkshire doesn’t pay dividends - so I’m not motivated to become an investor in Berkshire - but I did my own investing, but at the same time - I understand the importance of compounding dividends - plus - reaping the benefits of the Canadian dividend tax credit
Candice mountain should be on there, not alot of veiwers, but very educated
I still think Adrian and I think too much a like on the picks. I've watched a few of the list here I like each month holding the dividends and either using them or re-investing them without worrying about the valuation. Cash flow is my method. use the dividends to capture more dividends. I think this is because I'm into the 50's and being older I'm more interested in monthly cash flow.... rather than growth over time.

good - this format is nice, I recall your dad Brandon a few months back mentioning about calling out some Canadian RUclips channels. No need to do that when you round up the cream of the crop, imo!
prior to 51m, I see a lot of the single stock selectors have chosen TD and MFC.
loved the video, lots of creators, many I haven't seen before. loved the summary at the end.
TEAM QUESTION: every time i read/learn about investing, there is always a recommendation to have bonds, I even recall Brandon recommending XBB as a bond ETF and Dan @stocktrades also reviewing and recommending other bond ETFs, YET none of your guys portfolios seem to have any. Why? Are they just not being shown or is this some old man concept not relevant today in practice?
Wait, Adriano invested 218k and is getting 6k a month in dividends? Is that right? I need to re-do my entire portfolio and retire asap.

I’m sorry but everyone except biloal had great reasoning and insights different perspectives. He seemed to have the most random reasons for holding what he says. I like smart centres because Walmart is taking over Canada, I don’t like the banks because the debt. Google is taking over the internet? Common man I could explain my portfolio better than that. He seemed unsure about pizza pizza where they’re even located outside Ontario.
