Meh. It's was okay. Worth more listens. The Lyrics were the best thing about the song. Musically it's a 7 on the Richter scale. It had a Linkin Park ish feel except more Genty. Still the stop breaks were okay, standard fare from the newer songs from some of the more progressive Core bands out there. But it wasn't particularly breathtaking or groundbreaking. Granted this song isn't structured for such gymnastics, especially given the pacing. Less is more many times and served this song well. But the Lyrics were sung well and are heartfelt. My only criticism of the singing would be dynamicly it was kind of monotonous from the middle to the end showing no depth beyond the tone set at the beginning of the song. It felt like I was waiting for him to soar at some point, but he never went there. And anticipation isn't the emotion one would want you to feel with such deep emotional lyrical content. So yeah. A 7 for me. A good song. But not strong, lacking originality or lacking that vocal dynamic that could have moved the song a step above where it sits currently. My two cents.
That's what we like about it bud. It doesn't need inflection in the vocals. We got chord progressions and choral vocals literally hammering home what Vessel is saying. You either get it or you don't I guess.

I get that it's new and you're excited, but it's not about getting it. Songs are either bad, okay, good, great or masterpiece. Songwriting is songwriting. This is good, but not great. It could have gotten closer to great if the Vocals had reached further. It could have been great if the songwriting had just gone a little further. As it stood, this song left you wanting more, not because of the groove you were in, but because it felt like there should have been more song. Like the song was incomplete and they never got back to finishing it or they used the wrong cut when it went to master. It was just weird. Not congruent with great songwriting.
