- This is my custom 1/64 scale Gaslands bus build. I decided to make it from scratch with predominately styrene sheet and rod stock. The mad max style post apocalyptic theme comes into focus with lots of rust, dust, and weathering! Let me know what you think in the comments!

Just subscribed for more “riveting” content. Great video I’m off to check out your previous videos!
🤣 Thanks! My samurai car has tons of rivets!
Very good! Thanks from Brazil.
This video single-handedly gave me the confidence to take a stab at fabricating a vehicle from scratch. Just thinking of it as adding shapes on top of shapes instead of it all has to pull together immediately to look like the finished project is a huge mindset shift.
Wow! That's high praise that I'm probably unworthy of haha. Don't be afraid to take time to just put things up next to each other until it seems like they fit!
Same here and me being a mechanical engineer and actually fabercate and fit and weld all day for some reason i cpuldnt use that concept of ita just layers of ahapes instead of it all has to be done at same time to finiah it.
Amazing. I would have loved a two part video, one with the build, then another with the painting. Don't underestimate how much people would like to watch stuff that might seem "boring" to you.
It was more a mix of deadlines for the build off and being very new to RUclips. I did the build and video start to finish in less than a week and it took me probably 40 hours or so for everything. Going forward I am well aware that many people whare your interest and opinion so there will be more complete documentation in the future. Thanks for your feedback and watching the videos! 👍
This is one of my favorite video's I've seen on your channel. It never even occurred to me to build something completely from scratch like this instead of taking the easy way out and building on top of another car. Like Pops would say, "Good show!"
I appreciate that! Making something from nothing is magical and so much fun!
I'm watching this for the umpteenth time, because this really is outstanding work.
Thank you so much! I need to make something like this again for sure 👍
OOOOO i so nearly clicked out of the video. “I am gonna build a bus from scratch!” Next cut, “Here is a model bus I’m gonna use”. I flipped, and nearly clicked out until you said you wer’nt going to use it. Very good
Oh no! 😂 I wonder how many other people have done that 🤔 thanks for watching 😎👍
i was just scrolling through youtube then this showed up on my queue...dude you are really creative
Thank you! I'm glad RUclips is moving this video around for more to see 😎
Wow this is crazy. With this method, you can make everything from the TMNT van to the bus from Day of the Dead.
That's a good idea! Maybe a TMNT scratch build needs to happen 🤔🤔🤔
This is so cool. Really nispirational.
All of Your videos litterally is what I been searching for for months on scratch building that would help someone like me who is new and struggling with scratch building. You got a new subscriber for life now please keep doing videos amd maybe a full step by step build that we can follow with exactly and build it along with the video and add our own imagination to it but the video would just be a road map to help us along the way. I use evergreen cheaper in states beautiful job love the video and layers taught me that you don't need to press the shape of the pannels in you just glue prices on top amd make layers like the front part of your bus tgank you
I really appreciate that! Thank you!
I love tesmell of liquid cement and plastic sheet in the morning......
You and me both, my friend. 😎👍
I just started doing apoclyptic builds and its so much fun dreaming up anytging you want and just designing it as yoy go with the spare parts bins. So muxh more fun the building perfect show quality rides with sectioned bodies choptops that are perfect and flawless paintjobs been doing for 5 years. I'm 30 been modeling on and off for last 6 years won a bunch of best of shows but this kind of building im loving. And sine my weekends are tuesday through Friday every week I dont model on work nigjts cuse i gotta work 15 hoir days so now monday night cant xome fast enoigh to get started on a apocalyptic build this week
I don't know which I love more, the scratch building or the dad jokes. Ok, it's the scratch building, but just barely.
🤣😆
outstanding build
Thank you so much!
I used ypur measurments and converted to 1/24 scale and im.deskgning my own bus nothing lile yours just the measurements is all this is my first complete scratch build great job at teaching thank you
no problem!
Hmmmm...uhhhhhh....trying to find the words but all that comes to mind is DAMN 🤣. Both you and Krisitan truly disgust me with your insane crafting skills - I can't imagine being able to look at something and say "oh I'll just build one from scratch" - I believe it's a gift and not something that can be learned...and the two of you are blessed with such skills. I'm going to have to watch this video again...more carefully and taking notes...in the hopes that I may pick up some of these skills knowing that there's absolutely no way I could ever come close to something like this. Well done, Ben...amazingly well done!
Thank you, Jim! I'll try my best to continue to disgust you with creativity 🤣😁
serious did I just watch you build that from nothing. holy crap bud. there are no words to describe how cool this is. its just insane what you did. amazing job
Thank you fir the kind comments! I really like how it turned out too 😎
Absolutely love all your attention to detail!
Thank you! This was a really fun project 👍
I'm 9 minutes in and this is already ridiculous! 😂 its almost 3am. I'll catch the rest tomorrow bro. Its really impressive how you work with this stuff
Thanks! Get some sleep dude!!
I'm revisiting this video for obvious reasons.... Bro! You're nearly at 10k subs!!!
Thank you! I never knew I would get this "big"
Good luck with the build!
wow fantastic
Thank you! 😎👍
I came over from Maple leaf customs and to see what's going on over here and wow that was amazing how you made that bus bud I am now subscriber so keep up the good work and God bless
Thanks JC! I hope you enjoy my other builds videos too! 😁👍
Has taken me a few days honestly to get through the entire video, but we'll worth it! Very impressive work!
I really appreciate that, Mike! Thanks for taking the time to watch and I am glad you gor something out of it!
It looks great!
Thanks 😎👍
Really nice work. I'll be scratch building a few vehicles myself in future, though I doubt they'll be this fleshed out or detailed.
Well done
Thank you! I've found that the more detail you add, the easier it is to paint in a convincing way at scale. Good luck with scratch building!!
Great Job
Cheers! 😎
Amazing!!!👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks 😎👍
Dude never apologize for the length of the video if its good we will watch it. I have watch and outdoor guy on RUclips for over 3hrs on one video before so yeah if its good.
Yeah, I'm there now but this was a while ago and my first scratch build on the channel so it was still uncharted territory for me.
wow..what skill!!!!!
Thank you! 😁👍
hot damn that is beautiful!
😁 Thanks!
OK, so that may have been the best video I've seen all summer! Really enjoyable and educational. You've got the creativity and the skills to make it work. I certainly learned a lot just watching. I need to get some of that fine Tamiya styrene glue. Sure glad you're documenting your work on RUclips now! Big thumbs up from Switzerland - Andrew 🍁👍
Thank you for the kind comments! It's a ton of work but fun and worth it to share. I can't wait to see your war rig! 😎
AMAZING!!!!!!
Thank you 😁👍
Been wanting to come back and watch this video. It did not disappoint! Amazing work and I love how you take your time to get the details all in place. Great videos!
Hey, thanks! I'm glad you came back to watch it 😁👍
unbelieveable! 👏🏻👌🏼
Cheers! 😁👍
someone should make a real version of this bus because that is one awesome bus
Now THAT would be awesome!
Outstanding build, picked up some really useful tips from this video.
Thank you, John!
Amazing job, spectacular weathering and rust effect...Wow!!👍👍😍
Thanks! This is still one I'm really proud of 👍
Really great build Ben. I would have stuck around for the painting for sure, but it was a "riveting" video watching you build this bus anyway. Cheers
My computer can't handle exporting much more than this 🤣 I had to step it down to 30fps just to get it to work this time.
Amazing build mate 👍
Scratch building is always an interesting challenge!
Please do more builds maybe a scratch built pro mod drag car with a home made tube chassis tubbing out the rear and lowering suspension on kits to stance them and making fender flakes and wide body kits. And your rivet technique game changer for my custom kitbashed and scratch built 1980s asphalt wedge style super latemodel looks super scale in 1/24 scale for oval track cars
Terrific apocalyptic bus custom build Bro and thanks for sharing it with us 👍😎👊
Thanks for watching! 😁👍
This is amazing!!
Thank you! I'm glad you're here for the ride 😁

Wow BP, this is AMAZING! You're such a talented builder. I'm looking forward to seeing your channel grow and hopefully I can work with you on something in the future. You've also got me wanting to play around wit some polystyrene. The content is riveting and the "before" footage really helped me to visualize how far this build had come. : ) The paint job is perfect and... yeah, mind blown! Thank you!
Thank you so much, T-Nu! Polystyrene is a magic material and I highly recommend Tamiya Extra Thin plastic cement. I'm happy I could blow your mind 😁👍
I'd love to collaborate in the future.
@@BPCustomCreations Sounds like a plan!

This is great. I love scratch built projects. I hope you do more in the future.
Thanks! My next build is done and ready to edit the video 😎
That’s brilliant. I’ve just done a scratch build on my channel. Can’t wait to do more 😁
@@chriscreativecontent I subscribed to your channel. I'm at work but I'll check it out later 👍
Thank you. I hope you like it 😁
What an exceptionally cool build. I kept thinking of the battle bus from Zack Snyder's Dawn of the Dead. I can't believe you built so much from scratch. Very awesome!
Nice! There are definitely similar themes and characteristics. Thanks for being here 😀
hats off to u my man. excelent and beautyfull job. as someone who just recently started with diecast and alloy model customs (actually it is 3 months, but got done only 2 rides, cuz ya know, a looooot of shifts in work to make at least a buck), this is something i wanna be once able to do. gonna give it a shot on hollidays, maybe i will made nice gift for a friend (she likes buses and zombie movies, so hope im gonna be able to make her happy).
I end up hobbying after everyone is asleep and staying up way to late 😂I get stuff built but don't get much sleep 😴
@@BPCustomCreations well, i dont get much sleep neither, but at same time cant get anything much done... maybe i need to look for new work. im already tired of working 12 hours every week. i do have free weekends, but those are days when i just clean whole house, manage to be able to shave and some at least a bit decent sleep.
Wow, this is just impressively detailed. Would love to see the painting n weathering portion.
Thank you! Unfortunately most of what I filmed was out of frame and I don't have enough footage that's usable. My newest video includes my painting and weathering processes! So check it out if you'd like!
Amazing job building that bus! Very cool!
Thanks, buddy 👍
Fantastic, liking what I have watched so far. You do really amazing work, and the videos are really pleasant to watch as well.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoy it 👍 there are more to come as I'm just getting started on RUclips
Just... WOW! You are SO TALENTED this is amazing!! I love the end result, it's really cool and fits the "post apocalyptic" aesthetic amazingly. Personally I'm more into the cute/sweet look, but that that's just me, and I can fully appreciate what you've done here. ❤️
Thank you for the kind comment! I don't think I could make anything cute or sweet but I did make T.T from Diddy Kong racing which is probably the closest 😂
@@BPCustomCreations Haha yes he is kinda cute!! 😆
Wow, this came out nice😲 alot of work. But the end result speaks for it self! Good job 👍
Thanks, buddy! 😎
Wow
What a build!!! Amazing work and tips keep up the great work!
Thanks dude!
First time here watching the channel. OH wow.
Welcome! 😎👍
Like! It turned out great! Very painstaking work, but the result is wonderful! Bravo!
Thank you! I love the process and seeing the details come to life with paint and weathering. Thank you for watching!
Amazing Work ! 👏
Thanks! 😁👍
What an excellent build, some clever techniques on show. I don't understand why any video longer than five minutes is too long for people to struggle through. I would have enjoyed the paint process too. Great choice of colour and nice to see a "post-boom" vehicle that isn't rust coloured.
This is the first of your videos that I've seen; gets a 👍 from me.
Cheers for now,
Dougie.
Thank you, Dougie!
Holy shit.. amazing job!! A few things I've taken away..
Get a half size metal rule.
Circular templates.
Rivets!
Thank you! The small metal ruler really is essential for this scale! You could go even smaller for detail work as well!
Finaly I managed it to watch this video after seeing your pictures on bill making stuff s discord. You got great dedication for details, I got great respect for that. Those hours you spend were worth it. Awesome build.
Thanks for coming over this way 😁
I'm glad you like it! I was under a time crunch and this whole build and video start to finish were completed within a week's time!
Very cool build and a lot of fun to watch!
Thank you!!
AMAZING WORK !!!!
Your talent is awesome.
Great work, bus is spectacular.

Thanks Mike! I really enjoyed watching it take shape as I was making it too!

Thank you!
Impressive build is an understatement. Also, further proof that in my area, any Dollar Store I have access to is grossly substandard. Cheers!
Thanks buddy 😁 I live in Japan so when I say "dollar store" its not exactly the same at the shops in America.
damn, i wish i will have dollar stores (actually euro stores, cuz im from europe). we happen to have there some discout shops, but theres just clothing, footwear, etc.
How in the world do you find / store everything you need. You seem to just pull out what you need when you need it. Maybe some is the magic of “filming “.
😂 The answer is part movie magic and part chaos. I edited this video down from almost 10 hours of raw footage and the build probably took me close to 20. I edit the slow bits out to make it watchable but the bits and tools are scattered everywhere in a chaotic "I know where everything is at, don't organize it for me" kind of way 🤣
Amazing talent Ben. Hope you're doing well brother 🙏
Thank you! We are all good over here man! I hope you guys are the same!
Mô hình này thật tuyệt:)
Cảm Ơn! Thank you!
What an awesome build! Nice work dude 😎💥💯

Awesome! Thanks for being here 😎I'm editing the next one now!
This is awsome mate keep it up ud be up with the big kitbashers on the platform in weeks
Thanks! That means a lot 😁 it's nice to seeing my craft improving
I was wondering if you're in Japan. I'm super jealous!
It's amazing how so many parts just worked out for this. I think in order to get that curve you were wanting for the roof you'd need more sheets with the edges closer together if that makes sense...probably would need thinner sheets of styrene so it didn't get too large. I think it turned out great though. Omg you found a bus lol go figure😂 That 30 min went by quickly and it was fun watching you work. The riveting content...excellent! 😂
What an absolutely epic build, dude! A true masterpiece. Congrats!
Btw, I think it'd be really cool if you took us around town and maybe showed some hobby shops or something. Just an idea.
Thanks for the great feedback and comment! Unfortunately I don't have a hobby shop nearby as I live far from major cities!

I do love that scale Creation....everything seems so realistic and its fun to watch this til' end whatever how long is the duration was...but there's one thing I've noticed, the front wheel armor at the right side, how can the wheel be steered if based on the real model if there's something blocking the wheel on the way?unlike the other side that curved out the front wheel armor...but for total, it is still look so realistic and beautiful especially when it comes on the details and paint...still well done
You are actually the first person to realized that about the wheel armor 😁😅 in the end its all about the fun process for me but little things like that are good to get right. The wide open windshield was another one for this build! Thanks for watching and enjoying it for what it is. I hope you can enjoy my other videos as well! Thanks for the comment 😊
Thankyou for your response😊
Unexpectedly that "first person"

i would like to see a bus with the steam roller in front, based and plowing through a group of enemies/zombies. Squishy targets.

Just really an enjoyable video to watch. Very, Very nice work - you ought to be at a couple hundred thousand subs by now!
Thank you! I think I'm right where I need to be now but I hope to get more subs in the future when I improve my video making skills and equipment. Thanks for watching!
Sept. 25, 2021----Thanks for the video as I now understand how I'll do mine. but it'll be a 1/35 scale motorhome for a zombie/ apocalypse diorama. Aarii (Japan modeling company) has 2 buses out in 1/32 scale that I have. However, they, like the English, drive on the wrong side of the road, so have to change the passenger door from the right side, to the left and of course, switch the drivers door. But I've seen more than one school bus made into a motorhome, so.....
So I nds like fun but that'll be huge! Good luck on your project 😊 do you post your work anywhere?
@@BPCustomCreations Started a thread titled for those who build models on Survivalist Boards, then go to the part that says the dark side. Got some photos of 2 dioramas I was working on. Had stuff happen and just beginning to get back into them, but there are some photos and near the end of the thread are some photos of a 1/32 diecast VW van I've been working on. As to the bus models, Google zombie/ apocalypse dioramas and you'll see one that someone converted, with sign on it saying we don't need help.
riveting content... god damn it

@@BPCustomCreations haha none(?) DnD. But I love to paint and sculp miniatures. I started purchasing Necrons from WH a couple of monts ago, since I fell in love with the aesthetics and now I need some ideas to put them in a diorama or something to not showcasing all just there standing on the shelve XD

Didn't know there were cheap model auction sites. Every one that I found was pretty much retail price.
I bought some on yahoo auction here in Japan. It's basically ebay. If you search for them as a "lot" of old or partially built models you can find them for cheaper. I got 11 small model boxes for $35. If you search around and aren't picky there should be deals to find. Good luck hunting!

I realize that rivets are vital for the post-apocalyptic aesthetic, but it seems like such an insane detail to throw in when nobody at all really uses rivets when building PA vehicles like Technicals in real life. You're more likely to see different thicknesses of sheet steel joined by really gnarly and terrible welds. You seem to have your CA-glue-and-baking-soda technique down already, so joining disparate panels of sheet styrene seems like it would be easier for you?
I like rivets 🤷🏼♂️you should see the samurai car video 😂
