For the first clip, lots of people seem oblivious to this rule but:
When you’re turning right at an intersection without signs, you must give way to:
a vehicle approaching from the right
an oncoming vehicle going straight ahead
an oncoming vehicle turning left
pedestrians crossing the road you’re turning into.
How do people not know this?
At least 1 a week we have to correct when they submit a video.@@fantomcircuitoctopus
@@DashCamOwnersAustralia Thanks for attempting to spread knowledge of the rules at least!
This is true, but also doesnt mean as a pedestrian you have right of way to cross whenever you want. Guy was head down on his phone, didnt check for any cars. Guy in ute would have been fine if pedestrian was actually paying attention
@@DashCamOwnersAustralia I love the number of people who do the wrong thing then blame others, gesture, honk or get out of the car to abuse the person doing nothing wrong for their mistake.
Context for 13:46, The driver fell unconscious, lost control and woke up at the last second to send it straight into my fence. He fled the scene, police were called. He was later found at home, blew 0.0 BAC. It was his grandfathers ute. He had hit his head diving into a pool the day or two before, hopefully the driver go gets an MRI/CT. At the end of the day, it is just a fence. No one died or was seriously injured.
As for the mess, I keep telling the dogs to clean up, mow the lawn and what not, it is their yard. But they won't listen.😅
Is the guy ok now?
@@haylene7521replying just in case they do, I'm hoping so as well :o
@@haylene7521 according to his Grandfather, he is Okay. Still a bit upset over it.
19:20. . Big trucks like that should have a placard or something like that on the back end of the truck, warning car drivers not to pass the truck when it is turning.. .
It could say something like *"DO NOT OVERTAKE TURNING VEHICLE"* . . And if it was in bright colours, like RED and YELLOW, that would also be helpful.
On a side note that combination must be very close to the length limit (without looking it up it's 26m?)
Agree but more than likely these dimwit drivers pulling up beside him either are blind & didn't see those signs or more than likely "he'll be slow moving off, I'll beat him in the turn".
Great idea that signage Richard, but we know it will never catch on? 😅
And even it catches on and the trucks display the sign nobody would read it anyway. No point wasting energy and materials on a sign. Easy and better to just roll over the top of cars trying to undertake you as you turn.
People ignore red lights so...........
0:01 "little man, big truck."
A Ford Ranger is big in Australia?
@@casmatori News to me. The motoring industry would class this as something like "standard size".
0:01 "Driver not giving way, pedestrian being a knob by staring at their phone"
@@coover65 "standard size" you say? Gee, I guess the driver must be even "smaller" than I thought. 🤣
@@twistedaus A little man fails to give way to a pedestrian, stops in the middle of the intersection with no regard for other traffic, jumps out of his massive truck (relative to his tiny tiny stature), chases down the pedestrian, drags him back by the arm to the intersection to make some sort of unironic point about responsibilities and road rules (no doubt), AND you think the pedestrian looking at his phone is the "knob"?
I guess there are two sides to every story after all. 🤣
The first video would have been hilarious if someone nicked off with his ute while he was chasing the person he Nearly hit 😂😂
Or locked his keys in it.
Or just taken the keys out and thrown them in the back. What makes him think he can turn?
My fave ever cam video was of the guy that was being verbally abused by a guy who got out of his car, getting out of his own car, taking the keys out and throwing them down the road and driving off himself! 😅😅
i was hoping the delivery guy was going to do it...."free upgrade"
How small was that guy? Do you think he drives that big car to compensate for something 😄😃
18:38 that was perfectly in sync
So sad this amount of content is available fresh each week, Australian drivers are something else
Also, big middle finger to all ute drivers!
Yes. We all want a pickup ute truck, right? :P Big behemoths!
They think they own the road 😂
@@Fred-nk6gy compensaters.
Hey we’re not all bad.
I mean most dual cab drivers are, and my commodore looks like I’m a complete bogan but we’re not all bad
Not all of us!! I follow the rules of the road, polite and predictable. In my over 50 years of driving, I have never caused an accident nor have I been in an accident that was deemed my fault. I always assume everyone else is going to do the dumbest thing possible and plan escape routes! I know my limitations and drive within them.
At 17:50 I was like what's going on here, thought they pulled over because of a kid throwing a tantrum then she pulls out something I thought looked like a pair of pants/ trousers 🤣
Had to look at it a couple of times myself! And then I realised how disappointing the... 'technique' (not to mention speed) of the cop throwing the thingy' was. 😣
I had the exact same thoughts as I was watching it...except for a second when she came out of the car, I thought she was going to pull the said tantruming kid out 🤭
@@omnipresent1215 I think it's called a 'Spike strip'. But yeah, that cop needs more training in that manoeuvre, but the quality matches the quality of the rest of the vehicle users in aussieland :)
I actually thought she'd pulled out a massive snake & threw it & thought fk how brave is she....then rewatched & realised what it was she was trying to do and thought fk me, that was bad 😂😂😂😂
Yeah this was my video, i was kinda worried and was gonna get out and see if everyone was okay until i saw her throw the spikes onto the road LOL
21:30 Doing a U turn in front of an ambo, definitely wanker of the week award
12:20 - Took a while to get on the breaks
He was no doubt trying to intimidate the other driver and too late realised insurance wouldn't side with him if he did actually ram him. Douche-baggery
*brakes.
April fool for sure 😂
Would never use them, only the horn and 20 lights on the front.
'Breaks' is what happens if you don't get on the 'brakes' in time
17:50 has got to be the fail of the century. Might as well have just waved.
The male cop should have been the one deploying it.
I'd blame it on diversity but that would be too cliché wouldn't it, its not even funny at this point
@MickOBrien-MOB agree 100%. If only doors had been unlocked when pulled up, if only .....damn, missed again lol
Diversity hire
@@AsentrixYT Exactly. Thats what you get when a woman tries doing a mans job. What worse is that airlines in the US are hiring more diverse staff instead of qualified staff. Anyone see the video going around of the plane that was missing 3 or so bolts from the wing that a female mechanic forgot to put on? Its fukt. After seeing the Virgin ad on tv i'd say Australia is following the US with diversity hiring.
0:22 Quick, someone jump in the Ranger and take it 400m down the road and round the corner.
And change the radio station to one of the foreign language SBS stations.

I’m yet to see someone over 6 foot drive one…😂
Yep, so brazen and so wrong.
There's a reason they're called _"compensators"_

Yes.
23:17 That cable reel did a better job at parking on the side of the road than some of the idiots I've seen in car parks.🤣
😂
I was waiting for it to start rolling back down!
once upon a time, we did weird stuff like use empty car parks to learn to reverse trailers. (honestly though, if you turn the wheel one way and it doesn't go the way you expect it to, it shouldn't be too difficult to figure out that the wheel needs to be turned the other direction) 😝
@@johnnichol9412 well that's handy LOL. Seriously though, I will remember that as I am a piss poor backer!
Even if you have years of experience...backing a short wheel base trailer with a long wheel base vehicle is not something you want to hurry. If there was a spotter who knew what they were doing you have more chance. Other than that you can more or less forget it because its the stuff of nightmares
20:45 that pass was bad but so was the cammers driving. They started off no more than than about .5s following distance, then closed the gap even more. If that overtake had gone bad they would've been caught up in it.
19:20 I want to know what went through their head before making that decision. They just saw the Camry nearly get squashed, and thought "Oh, I'll go in the exact same spot, it won't happen to me!" 🙄
It’s amazing how people aren’t aware that trucks are allowed to take up two lanes for turning!
Truck shouldn't have bothered beeping and kept driving. Make an example of him, and then you don't have to deal with muppets playing follow the leader.
Two drivers, both thicker than the earth's crust?
@@CharlesGregory Not sure I knew they were allowed to... I just know to stay out of their way
The answer you want to know is: they went so I am too. What truck?
14:23 between the second coming of Christ, the music and the driving. I'd have the same reaction
Your comment had me in stitches! There's so much going on in that clip!
😂
Mars ain't coming back , let it go
I think so too tee be aych
Mate, that was some Twilight Zone X-Files Monty Python shit right there...
I actually don't believe it's possible to own a Ford Ranger and be a good person. There is simply no evidence to suggest that a single decent human being drives one.
Agree
I say that for jeep drivers.
You are speaking nothing but facts!!
As someone who just got one as a company car, I am now scared shitless of how people are going to treat me on the road.
In regards to the first clip, I also hate Ranger drivers with a burning passion but I get where that dude was coming from. There's no pedestrian crossing there and old mate had his head buried in his phone while walking across a road. Not often I'll defend a Ranger owner but it's not like he was fanging it round the corner either. I'd wanna flog someone too if they can't pay attention to their surroundings while crossing a road.
I think when getting a license all scenarios need to be addressed including how to drive near trucks, a lot of ppl just don't know how much room a b double needs to turn
Totally agree. Just last year I was in a three way turn at lights. The car in front of me (middle lane) was oblivious to the room the truck/trailer to the left needed. The truck kept going and did some *severe* damage to the car. Can't say I felt bad for the (car) driver at all. Surprises me how many truck drivers do what this good soul did. Must be tempting to just keep going sometimes.
If you can't stay in your lane, get off the road. A truck that can't turn without taking out the vehicle next to it shouldn't be legal.
@@karlhendrikse So you are saying that trucks with longer trailers or containers shouldn't be allowed on the roads?
@@karlhendrikse Perhaps getting some education in any STEM subject should be on your bucket list...
@@karlhendrikse you need to spend time in the cab of a semi or b-double out on the road & see just how much room they need to turn!!! You also need to go find where you left your brain & common sense. Oh while you're at it, go & do another driving test!!
13:26 I saw someone try this a few weeks ago further up that road. The tram driver told them off using the external PA, refused to open the doors and took off without them.
That’ll teach ‘em not to take risks like that. Good on the tram driver

Teslas are very cheaply made unfortunately.
@@Foxtrot369
Well the cameras aren't there for human consumption. They're set up for computers to detect objects.
That said, I do agree. They're not made very well.
The cameras were never designed as a dashcam, they were designed for image recognition for autopilot, etc. The dashcam (and sentry cam) features were added later as a free software update after owners requested it.
The nostalgic look is growing on me !
Originally the cameras were never to be used for viewing by humans, except for the backup camera. That's why they look weird to us. The main purpose for the cameras is/was for object detection & recognition.
Tesla released the dashcam functionality some years later, as a software update to the cars.
This is one of the great things about Tesla's, they're constantly being updated with new features & taking advantage of the hardware which is already in existence. Every year they get better and better, not that they naysayers will think so though.

I was just pleased to see someone actually getting up to the speed limit well before the merge! Too bloody often on that ramp, numpties at the front of the traffic only get up to 90 and leave the rest of us behind them to battle to merge in to the traffic on the freeway that has had to jump on the brakes to avoid them.
3:08 What is it with kids who just run across the road without even looking?
1:44 Nice parking spot, Rita
23:56 I wondered why the video kept rolling on the same road - LOL!
Got to love Aus drivers who speed up or don’t let people merge just to try and get as close as they can to a crash then sit on there horn and be overly dramatic
Supply creates its own demand. Once DCA goes to Daily Submissions videos, I'm sure the market shall step up with adequate supply.
(Seriously, the weekly videos were a little B-grade - and we were quite happy with DCA B-grade - but it's now rivalling the monthly compilations for quality bad driving!)

Pretty sure that a supplementary driving test needs to be introduced for drivers of 4X4 utes, and other large vehicles.
Especially need to be able to park in confined areas, reverse safely and navigate side streets.
I saw a guy last week, do a U-turn in a Ranger in front of his office. He mounted the curb, hit a tree, then reverse parked so badly that he touched 3 wheels on the curb. 3! FFS!
He left it with 2 wheels on the curb as he noticed us laughing.
Sorry, but the majority of bad drivers are cars!
Some context @9:45 (i'm not the footage owner). This is Mahoneys road westbound, and that is a bus lane that has NO EXEMPTIONS regarding times it is active. Yet, as per, people fly down that thing past traffic all the time regardless for the rules of the lane. I almost had someone almost hit me as I turned into that lane after the intersection as it is no longer a bus lane there, someone doing 90 in the 70 zone flew through and then got all ragey trying to slow me down and force me out of the car.
Right in front of the Police station. Oh yeah and typically they were two tradies in a ute. So not only was this Holden cruze ignoring the rules of the bus lane, he was also speeding by a significant margin.
Not only the cruze broke the rules by speeding and in the bus lane, but the car turning turned from the far left lane 🤦🏼♀️
Idiot who was driving should know you can enter the bus lane up to 50m if you are intending to turn into a street.
Avoidable accident if both drivers remembered the rules.
@@jdeelpSo many people don’t know this rule which helps traffic flow.. you can also use the bus lane for up to 50m when pulling out from a side st enabling you to merge into traffic.
I really have to wonder if there's something used in the glues in Ford Rangers that interferes with self control, cognition and aggression.
Who cares. That idiot crossing the road was literally glued to his phone, didn't even look up, blasting music in his ears, its not even a crossing and has the nerve to tell off the guy in the ford. And then starts recording. Fuck him.
Studies have shown that drivers of vehicles that spent at least one day a week in the repair shop, for example Rangers, have growing resentment and hostility to drivers of cars they perceive only get an annual service on their car. For example, the owner of a 1996 Hyundai Getz 😅

That's what I was thinking, but then it turns out he was just making the very difficult _37 point turn..._

Now imagine doing it on a motorcycle while being on the oncoming-traffic side of the L-plater. There's definitely a bug in the OS.
@@aaronleverton4221his os needs a reboot haha. Was using phone to watch, was m/bike dude on his L plates too?
Looks more like a P than an L to me. I doubt a competent supervising driver would advise their student to race off with someone that close either.
Nah watch it again. Bloke was just passing on the right(so illegal but ultimately harmless) and P plater served into him.
the very definition of "a temporary Aussie" and a "dickhead" brake checking a car on a motor bike....what could go wrong....?
14:08 I swear this is the type of thing that ALMOST happens to me on a weekly basis - I'd be the silver commodore (only car on the road or in that lane) and someone just has to pull out in front of me instead of waiting.
It's in every episode: the low-speed frontal collision with the side, back and even front of another vehicle. The ground equivalent of CFIT. The threat is right in the middle of your field of view. You're going slow enough to come to a dead stop and still have room to lay out a picnic between the cars. Just *why???*
