I went to OSU, I’ve been to over 50 games and I can tell you that was the most electric game I’ve ever watched. So much fun and worth every ounce of time money and how cold I was. Them boys deserved that! Bring on the rematch!
Congratulations to these Buckeyes.. they really impressed! Kudos to Coach Day n this team! Despite the wrinkles here n there this is a solid team! Hope people will critic but stay supportive to this team no matter what happens in Pasedena!
I like Ryan Day. I think he represents Ohio State very well as a person, and that is why I REALLY want to see him succeed, because good people need to have success. But I was beginning to have my doubts after the Michigan debacle. It's not being a bandwagon fan to be upset over that. But I'm a Buckeye homer, and I would never turn on the program. I just wanted to see them go out and empty the chamber. I can handle losing if the other team is just better. It happens. But to lose like they did against Michigan was inexcusable, and some fans went way overboard. But, here we are now, and everything is still in front of Ohio State. Unleash the beast. Guns blazin'. Go big, or go home. I wanna see if Oregon can handle THAT Ohio State team from Saturday night.
Watching us lose to M every year makes it even more difficult with Ryan being a good man. I'll never understand what I watched on November 30. Saturday night helped, and if we somehow take care of business against Oregon, it will help even more. Yes, we've had injuries on the OL, but we still have A LOT of talent and experienced leadership on this team. We have everything a championship team needs. There is no reason why we can't make a deep run.
I’m now an old man and one of those fans. I’ll admit it. I’ve had Ryan Days back till the last Michigan game. When I’ve witnessed losing to LSU Florida Alabama Georgia Mizzou Oregon and then Michigan the last 4 years and knowing we could have beat this Michigan team like we beat Tennessee. Excuse me for being doubtful. I will always love the Bucks but damn the let downs were piling up. If they lose to Oregon it won’t hurt as much. They are great. But like I mentioned to lose to that Michigan team at home. Everyone was frustrated and rightly so.
What a great atmosphere to be a part of. Tenn ran their jibs all week and then fans were running it in the stadium, they learned pretty quick what OSU was about and their faces told it all. The only rabid fans in that stadium were wearing scarlet and the orange found out real quick. Not a single ass in a seat during the game, at least where we were, it was loud and raucous. Hoping for the same “quiet” Buckeyes leading up to the Oregon game. When that happens, watch out.
Zach I love you but some of us can't afford those tickets and travel and hotel accommodations and or have health concerns that don't allow us to be in those extreme temperatures doesn't mean we arent true fans
The criticism of this coaching staff and the team’s performance over the course of the season is fair and justified, even more so now. And I’ll tell you why. It’s not being on and off the bandwagon. The Tennessee game is the team we, as fans, were promised, and expected this season. Leave no doubt. There’s no reason or excuse not to have seen THIS VERSION of the Buckeyes all season. That said, I give them all the credit in the world for this game. This is all we, as fans, have wanted to see - this collection of what is arguably the most talented roster in football, finally playing up to their potential - leaving no doubt. THIS VERSION of Ohio State is National Championship caliber. Instead of just hype, they showed us. Will they finish the job? I don’t know, but now, I finally have a basis to believe they actually can instead of just hearing and reading about it.
It is absurd what I heard from Buckeye fans the last 3 weeks. I understand that you can criticize the performance from the last game. I asked and had a ton of face to face conversation with Buckeye fans and the concensus was you would rather beat the TTUN than win a National Championship. That is ridiculous and stupid. Nick Saban even called out Buckeye Nation for being so negative. This is a new day and age and Buckeye fans are going to have to starting excepting that. After that loss it wasn’t like are season was over and we were going to a meaningless bowl game. No, we were still to the CFB playoffs. For three weeks that I heard from Buckeye fans was negative bs. You take the loss you, you learn from it and move on. Great job Ryan Day, other coaches, and players.
To all the non-believers! To all the non-believers! Especially you Kirk Herbstreit. Way to have our back Zach. Anybody can be beat! It felt great. Poetic justice. People gave us no chance, like we barely made the playoffs. We're a good football team. We're the best defense in the country. All we hear is about their defense. They can't stop a nosebleed! And we're the ones getting disrespected. See you in Pasadena. Can't wait!!
Kirk was actually saying we need to calm down and give Day a break. I think his family should be off limits, but Day probably does not care too much about criticism. He wants to win.
@easyenetwork2023 The man literally said Ohio State should wish it was playing on the road. He literally said he expected 40,000 Tennessee fans to take over the Shoe. And he figuratively couldn't stop drooling over Tennessee the entire broadcast. He was as much a non-believer as any "Fire Day" fan, Tennessee fan, or ESPN SEC shill. I hope they all felt humiliated and humbled for believing THE Ohio State Buckeyes couldn't deliver.
Before the season started, I envisioned Ohio State looking a lot like Detroit (NFL) and even though they effectively utilize a 2-back system, no one confuses the Lions with a power running team. I waited all year to see that type of Buckeyes offensive performance. Ryan Day should just do what Ryan Day does. Go BUCKS!🅾🌰🏈 #LetChipKellyCook
Zach, just cause the fan base was mad about losing to Michigan and holding the coaching staff accountable and didn’t buy a ticket to the game, does not make them a bandwagon fan. You can still be pissed off about the horrific game plan against that team up north cause it was terrible. Fans still supported the team and rooted for them at home. Ever thought the fan base knew they were capable of that performance Saturday night and that’s all we were waiting for an expected? Thank god it was a 12 team playoff or we woulda been out. Go bucks! Win or lose or opinion holding a team with this much talent accountable and being pissed when they under perform does not make you a fair weather fan. Good job by the staff and players Saturday!
If you already own a ticket and sell it to a Tennessee fan you’re by definition a TERRIBLE fan. Period. No one cares if you just don’t go. It’s the season ticket holders selling their tickets to TN fans at a loss. That’s just dumb.
They underachieved most of the year probably, until the UT game. That is closer to what they should be against Michigan. Reminds me of Cooper 2.0. But he can redeem himself by using better game plans.
I believe that this was by design. This aggressive style of play will only be sustainable through the postseason because they played complimentary style during the regular season.
The difference is that our big guys on the O line controlled the LOS for most of the game. Notice I did not say dominate. Our genius coaches stayed away from the Keystone Cop like preference on zone blocking, especially the stretch zone plays that set our men for failure just about every time. If our guys continue to be allowed to fire off the ball, staying low, and exploding into defenders, domination will come.
Listen you can't be upset that fans were upset with the team lol. You can only lose to your biggest rival so many times in a row before people start questioning the leadership. Former players should understand that. But even with that, ryan day put on a masterclass and I hope they run thru oregon.
This team is absolutely special. But was this too emotional of a win, and we may see a let down like we did after the Clemson win? I know that was the covid year, but still. We got our asses kicked after that emotional win
After the Xichigan game I lost confidence in Day. He needs to get out of his head stop the manhood crap and do what he does best. Him and Chip need to be who they are! Go Bucks!
He said the buckeyes came up a second short the first time. That's not necessarily the case. The assumption is they would have been able to kick a field goal. TOSU field goal kicker is iffy at best. It's been that way for years quite frankly. Just hope they don't get in the position where they have to depend on the kicking game.
I don't want to hear any lecturing from Zach Boren. I was going to Ohio State games when his Eastmoor HS dad was playing for the team up north! Zach's lecturing came off a little bit tongue in cheek here, but I still don't want to hear it from him or from any Boren. In the words of Doug Lesmerises, Zach can CRAM IT.
What's so awesome and gratifying to us Michigan fans is the fact that no matter what y'all do in the playoffs...This season will always be remembered by that egg you laid against us 😂
Zach: Tennessee only star on Offense, the RB, sat game out with Hamstring injury, Nico is not a passing QB and Tennessee WR’s are average at best, there is no comparison between Tennessee & Oregon Offensively - worlds apart in fact, stop comparing the two lol
Zach please, bad take. Being critical doesn't make you a fair weather fan, else yourself would be fair weather. Selling your tickets doesn't necessarily mean you're a bandwagon fan. Unless you know for sure people's reasons for selling I'd stop the blanket comments ala Jerk Herbstreit. I personally didn't have tickets to sale, was considering buying and going. However the temps, lack of faith in Day/oline and rather use the money for the holidays decided against it. I was still watching and cheering at home and pleasantly surprised. Does that mean I can't be a fan just because you say so? Finally, where has this version been all year? We were told this is who they are, they finally show us. Can they sustain it is the next challenge? If they can you're right no one is beating them. Doing it once is great, doing it twice is awesome, doing it thrice is a habit...
Oregon and Tennessee the same!? lol 😂 😂😂 Tennessee didn't even have their best player all SEC running back. We'll never know if Tennessee could've ran the ball. How'd this incredible team crap their pants against Michigan?
See i just think Ryan Day just needs to cool out and when we play Michigan do to them as you did to Tennessee. Thats all Ryan needs to do don't worry about losing the game . If you play your game no way they beat you Ryan .
Congrats. I’m glad you guys played well against Tennessee, and I’m glad you guys embarrassed the SEC. I’ll definitely be at the rose bowl, and Ohio State will have to play that well to have a chance against my Oregon team. Oregon played pretty good against OSU in October, but they also missed out on three wide open TDs and two other TD drives, so Oregon has another couple gears they can hit against OSU.
Zach is a great Buckeye and passionate and that's as it should be. However, his analysis is really poor. Tennesse is nothing like Oregon ! The Vols are as mid as can be and Oregon is lethal. ZB comparing the Vols receiver skill to Oregon's was absurd ! And then he says he thinks that Gabriel can't win a game on his own which is also absurd. Kudos to Coach Knowles, Chip, and Coach Day on a great gameplan. No doubt a FANTASTIC victory ! But....let's pump the brakes a bit. The 2nd qtr the Buckeyes completely checked out on both sides of the ball, and the 4th qtr was the all too familiar Ryan Day 4th quarter take the foot completely off the gas for 10 minutes of game time sportsmanship virtue signal that puts players at risk of injury with no hope of scoring time. This was 2 GREAT quarters of Buckeye football. Even the 2nd qtr was 'punctuated' with a baffling, individual player (Fielding) focused 56 yard FG attempt instead of a TEAM focused Hail mary pass into the end zone. GREAT win,but Tennesse isn't in Oregon's galaxy, and to say so is just to ignore reality.
Geez, would you say anything positive if they win 66-0! Completely dominated Tenn! I was at both games, is Oregon a great team? YES! Is Oregon as strong on the road as at home? NO!! Autzen was the loudest stadium I’ve ever been too, Pasadena won’t give them that advantage! Ohhhh & BTW, the 4th qtr was all backups… Keep being Mr Negative, we know your kind.
Kind of devolved into crybaby fan behavior. “All those bandwagon fans are out, don’t show up to the rose bowl” guess what, they’ll be there, they can be there, despite any kind of gatekeeping you think you’re entitled to as a “true fan”. Come up with better topics. I don’t think people want to watch butthurt fans chit chat. If you want to comment on it, what are you commenting on?? The fact that there were 40K tennessee fans in the shoe, guess what, there weren’t! That was a goofy on air approximation from a press box that sees half the field. It might be time to get real jobs
Oregon 41, Buckeyes 31 The differences from October, to now, Oregon was missing 8 key first or second string players in the first matchup, and that counts Holden for spitting. And a fully healthy OSU team at kickoff couldn’t beat a depleted duck team. And unfortunately for OSU, UOs fully healthy, since they were missing their best DL at the time, several OL, three DBs, and several WRs. One of their DBs is 6’4”, and the other is a former 2023 starter that’s 6’1”. Since that game, OSU is playing 3 offensive lineman where they usually don’t play, and they lost their two best OL. OSU also had another OL get injured in the gm vs Tennessee, which won’t help with his ability to practice, since those injuries take at minimum a week, with limited usage. The game on the 1st will come down to Oregon’s OL stopping the OSU pressures, which they did in Eugene even though they were bringing extra players. But Oregon will likely get the ball out fast, and make OSU feel like it’s impossible to make it to Gabriel, on most pass plays. The other part of the game that is huge, is the Oregon secondary against the basic OSU passing game. Will they figure out the 4 plays they keep running over and over. The fade, the mid range out route, the TE/Slot crosser, or the quick out that’s basically a wheel route or screen pass, depending on who catches it. Outside of that, the game will come down to Ryan Days decision to run it to much or not, since Oregon is going to shut down the run game. Oregons run game won’t be much of an issue, since they’ll likely get James over 100yds like normal.
I agree with this take. Given the results of last time and the issues now Oregon should win this one and most likely will. It comes down to the LOS. I won't rule out OSU winning and hope they do but this is a huge game and much better opponent. I give Oregon the edge to win
You’re prolly right, I have Oregon winning 72-3! Hell coach, You probably should rest your starters since you’ve got OSU & Ryan Day figured out …shoukd be a cakewalk for the Ducks! Do us all a favor, keep looking past OSU!!
Oregon played pretty well against Penn State, since no one scored over 30pts against them, but they did play pretty poorly on defense, since most of the team had the flu. Heck, Lanning still hasn’t gotten over his Laryngitis as of Wednesday for his media availability. But I’ve heard the team has gotten healthy after the Flu game in the Big10 championship. Definitely excited for Oregon to see OSU try to hype themselves up, just to see them realize they have no answers against Oregon. I get the energy after 3wks of misery, but Ohio State gave Oregon all of their playbook on offense and defense, which is beautiful, even though they really only used 4 or 5 offensive plays. Unfortunately for OSU, Oregon has played vanilla on every outside of the two big games, and the two rivalry games, when they scored 49pts, before they pulled their starters.
@@user-dw9fc6ev7xi disagree... the OL against their fully healthy DL is a nightmare. We barely got 141 yards last time and now they have everyone. The buck might stop here. If buckeyes can squeak out a win here then Texas and Georgia are beatable, but I dont think we will with this OL. Oregon wins by 10 or more

Time to move on Buckeye nation!!!! I'm an older fan since the 70's and had my share of ups and downs but always a Buckeye through and through.
Not as much character to this new generation of fans. So many are spoiled and soft and ready to quit so easily. Toughen up people!!!!

The season ticket holders are the issue. The alumni who live nearby and attend every game should not have sold out.

The differences from October, to now, Oregon was missing 8 key first or second string players in the first matchup, and that counts Holden for spitting.
Oregon has more injuries
Dude Oregon hasn’t played this version of OSU defense. Ryan Day is playing aggressive
Boren needs to chill. Tennessees offense isn’t that high powered. Nice only threw for more than 1 td in two sec games, miss st and vandy
Oregon got lucky the first time, no beating these buckeyes twice.
Is Oregon healthy?? That’s what we need to know..
Oregon wins by 10 or more
All about the game plan. If they use something similar to the UT game against Oregon the whole game, Oregon is kind of screwed.
Ohio state also played vanilla most of the season and only really unleashed for the UT game.
Will Howard is just as mentally fragile as his head coach
