      @ Chip has never won a natty. I suggest you take a look at our WR room full of future NFLers and then tell us all about setting up the run. That’s 1980s thinking. Chip wants to run with a team built to throw the ball. He’s the wrong guy for the job. Moving on.

    The difference between the Michigan game and the CFP wasn't the players - it was the coaches - Day, Knowles and Kelly. Those three stepped up and came up with a game plan that utilized the Ohio State talent the way it needs to be used. Having figured it out, I like their chances of winning the Natty. Keep blitzing and stunting on defense - keep a balanced attack on offense and defenses won't be able to stop all of it.

    • @raptor7869
      @raptor7869 18 дней назад +6

      I think Day finally letting Kelly call the game unlike against Michigan. During the Michigan game, Day was constantly looking at his play sheet a lot and plays were being sent in from the sideline by those 3 person play boards. Kelly sends in plays now with a direct link to Howard via the helmet comm. No need for play boards when he's calling plays. Day doesn't call play like he used when he was only the offensive coordinator. He's coaching scared against Michigan since he knows his job is on the line.

    The 12 team playoff is more of an NFL style playoff. Eli Manning and the Giants got in as a wildcard and beat Brady's undefeated Patriots. Oregon's undefeated regular season record is meaningless now.
    Notre Dame and Ohio State are hot right now. Boise St's defense gives up some yards but they create havoc with their sacks. Oregon gave up 30+ points to Ohio State, Boise St and Penn St. Thats a lot of pressure on the offense to never miss a beat. Georgia took 8 OTs to beat Tech. Tech! Texas was dominant all season except for when Ewers was getting sacked 4,5,6 times per game. ASU had 1 sack against BYU and zero against KSU and ISU. If they cant put pressure on Ewers he's going to light them up.

    That interception against Tennessee wasn't a mistake by little Howard that was a good play I want him to throw the ball the situations like that especially when it's too Smith that was an interference Smith went up for the ball 1 yard into the endzone and the defender pushed him 3 yards almost to the back of the end zone before the ball got there that was a flag egregious non call. @@taxisquad11 Nice word. Poorly used, but nice. You should never assume.
      Howard isn’t even top 20 in yards per completion, regardless of total attempts. He is the king of the short arms. Partly that’s Day and Kelly and partly that’s his lack of confidence and weak arm. Yeah, he threw a deep ball to Smith. That was a bad read as Tate was actually open on that play, but Howard was locked in on Smith and got bailed out by the best WR in the game. Again.

    • @rapid13

      Stroud 2021 had 4 300 yard games, 4 400 yard games, and one 500 yard game. 2022 he had 6 300 yard games.
      Again, this is on Day and Kelly. Day hired his buddy who still lives in “run first, second, and last” while he’s sitting on the best WR room in the country. Day should have hired an Air Raid OC instead.
      But there’s nothing special about Howard. He was basically unrecruited out of high school and is being carried by #4 and #2.

    The difference is that our big guys on the O line controlled the LOS for most of the game. Notice I did not say dominate. Our genius coaches stayed away from the Keystone Cop like preference on zone blocking, especially the stretch zone plays that set our men for failure just about every time. If our guys continue to be allowed to fire off the ball, staying low, and exploding into defenders, domination will come.
