  • HOW TO INSTALL CHIPWERKE TUNING ON MK7 JETTA 1.4T - INSTALL & 0-60 TIMES
    Testing the 0-60 times through the OBDLINK app.
    The car was set up for the winter with stock VW 16” wheeled and Blizzak tires
    I have since removed the Tuner box simply because it’s not my car and this was done just for testing.

    I have a jb4 (map 6) installed in my 2019 jetta s and the car has NEVER gone into limp mode, even after pushing the car hard on 90+ degree days. The hottest I've seen the engine temp was 230 degrees and that was just cruising at a steady 75 mph on the interstate. Still didnt go into limp mode. 200-220 degrees F is very normal for these 1 4t's. If I'm remembering what I've read correctly, you shouldn't get an overheating warning or go into limp mode until close to 250 degrees F

      Maybe get an intake too… typically the first step before a tune for this exact reason that would help get more air in keeping things cooler as well

    I know I'm a little late, but the power band runs about 2500 rpm to 5500, after that it basically flattens out. I feel like 7 sec 0-60 was possible.

    I got about 7.3 sec on my stock 2019 1.4. I guarantee that you would have got at least in the mid 6 sec if you turned the traction control off in the infotainment settings, take it out of eco, bump it into sport, turn auto start/stop off, and brake boost it. If you do it correctly, your tires should chirp from 1st to 2nd and you'll have quick firm shifts from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd (at least that's how it behaves on stock tune). I'm completely stock besides an afe air filter and I have never had the EPC or overheating issue, even on 90° days when flooring it all day. I find that rather odd that yours did that but idk 🤷‍♂️

    • @BestHombre
      @BestHombre  Год назад

      Thanks man, the overheating issue sucks for sure...
      Also, I think I forgot to mention that the car was on Blizzak Winter Tires at the time, so they are going to be slower than all seasons.

      @@BestHombre would you recommend a different tuning chip then for my specific car ? What warranty would it void

    • @BestHombre
      @BestHombre  Год назад +2

      @@krispykeyog Any tune can risk being detected by dealer software when they plug it into their computer and potentially gets flagged as ECU modified.
      This one was easily removable and didn't change any of the ECU programming. (so you might be able to just remove it before service)
      The warranty is supposedly a case by case situation (even if flagged as modified) and they would have to prove that the modification caused or was related to the repair/part failure that you would need fixed.
      For example, if you lower your car on coil-overs or other aftermarket suspension, you won't really get warranty service on suspension parts that fail, because the aftermarket suspension geometry potentially caused/related to the failure.
      The same can't be said about an aftermarket suspension and the A/C or heat failing.

    • @krispykeyog
      @krispykeyog Год назад +1

      @@BestHombre gotchu yea I definitely would take it out before being checked or serviced. Would you recommend this chip tune, a tdi box tune, or a urotronic stage 1 ? I wanna her whichever is safest for my vehicle

    • @BestHombre
      @BestHombre  Год назад

      I see!
      Then I would find an APR performance dealership, that the safest bet because then the tune has a warranty also.
      The "APR Plus" tune is the one that comes with a warranty, I believe the others do not.
      You can search here: www.goapr.com/dealers/

      I was getting a code for “water pump stuck open” I think it’s related to the limp mode situations, forgot to bring it in while it was under warranty, so I’ll probably end up just swapping the water pump eventually.
