I don't think Calcano was necessarily playing around Spell Pierce, I'm assuming it was mainly wanting a way to deal with Wrenn on 7 loyalty if Orange can remove both worms.

Crazy that these „pro“ players still counter chromatic spheres and expedition map instead of the real threats which are only a handful of creatures.
