The Monsters Inc. ride recently came out of a massive refurbishment that restored many of the effects that haven't been working in the attraction for Years.

It's very cool that Disney took the time to restore the attraction to its original state by restoring many of the broken and disabled effects! What do you think of this refurbishment and do you think it looks better?

@@alucard2010 The doors on the CDA van weren't opening before this.
Technically it's 'original state' was when it was the infamous dark ride SuperStar Limo.
Well I learned from this video is that there might be special audio clips at the end of the ride if you're holding or filming a camera
I just realized how funny the pacing of the ride is. "They'll never find that door now..." then immediately, "Look! There's Boo's door!" I love it so much.

it would be awesome to see a comparison video, I think that would really help highlight the improvements made ^^
when i went there was an actual voice, voicing the lady at the end and she called me a hunk one year i went lmaooo
Can you imagaine if they redid the effects on the ride entirely. I think it would be so cool if in the room with all the doors, they put tv screens or projectors in the floors to make it look like you’re hovering over hundreds of doors beneath you. Kind of like how you fly over the tiny city in the Peter Pan ride.
It’s not a bad ride, but it’s definitely an improvement compared to what it replaced.

Something Eisner thought was funny. A lot of Hollywood inside jokes no out of town visitors would understand, coupled with a low budget and zero excitement due to Princess Diana’s death.

i rode this and was very confused by the new effects, didn’t know that they were always there just broken

I forgot how short the que is! I haven't ridden this since elementary school. My family is going to Disneyland in April for my cousin's birthday, and this is one of the rides I'm most excited for. Can't wait to ride it again!
I remember riding this back in 2008 and Roz roasted my mom, saying "hey lady in the back! You can only have one carry on with you!" As she was holding a purse and a bag from a shop we just went to.
What a cute ride and based off one of my favorite Pixar's movie. And the doors vault scenes, I would be tempted to ride on those door like in the film if I saw them.
I wish they could redo Hollywood land but somehow keep this attraction. I love monsters inc!
They should make it monstropolis too make the ride fit!!

They could just make the land themed to riding the movies instead of a Hollywood backlot so basically like what Hollywood studios is trying to do but in one land

I personally like the Monster Inc attraction in Tokyo Disneyland a bit more. It’s more lively, and the story line makes a bit more sense.
It feels like a collection of deleted scenes disguise as a ride

Excellent traditional dark ride with cool effects. I wish the score/audio was better. There's a lot of awkward quietness.

I know this ride isn't super popular and its more than likely going to be replaced eventually but this is my favorite ride in CA Adventure

The addition of the flat 2D CDA agent is a weird choice considering that all the other characters are fully sculpted figures.
Also funny to realize how outdated the queue is with the pay phone booths.
On the bright side (literally),I can't tell if it's just your camera or not, but the ride looks much brighter in the black light scenes!
I think the pay booth is a leftover from SSL
Hold up- is Roz at the end just a pre-recorded animatronic or is there a Cast Member voicing her so that the experience is different for each vehicle?
Certainly pre-recorded, but probably cued/triggered by a CM. That "lens cap" line has been around since the ride opened (back when people used camcorders...with lens caps).

I went on this ride for the 1st time back in 2017. It was awesome. Much better then the Hollywood ride.
If they do redo this land I hope they move this ride to Pixar pier and add flashlights like in Tokyo

They should have it randomly on the exit a 2319 and pull a random cart to the side and like blow a lot of air on them like there shaving them

Love this ride but man when I went last in January 2021 it was not in the best quality, audio levels were too loud or too quiet and effects weren't working, glad it got a little bit of a refurb
this is....definitely not one of their stronger dark rides. the pacing is a little bit sleepy and there's not really any part of it that feels properly exciting or engaging. the most visually impressive it gets is the room with the doors, and the rest of it is pretty weak. I think the history of this ride starting out as the hollywood stars ride and then being turned into the monsters inc ride is more interesting than the ride itself.

That was weird. No mouth movement apart from the very end, and basic movements throught. Doesn't feel like a Disney ride.
That is what is considered a tradition dark ride similar to the ones you find in Fantasyland
This should be at Disneyworld instead of that stupid Laugh floor! Or at least fill up that space left by Stitch that's never used!

Am i the only one that finds these types of "tells the story of the movie" rides boring?. I mean the visuals are quite good. But it all goes too fast
