One of the greatest moments of my life was spending a day playing record with Brian Wilson back in 1978 in Philly. I would later go on and teach for 26 years in the Philly School District. We had our music teacher dropped for a few years so I signed up with Little Kids Rock to get some guitars to lend out. I taught after school for free because I was so happy somebody was lending us free guitars to use. Now I see Brian doing this video with Little Kids Rock so it as if things have come around full circle.Won, won, wonderful !

They'll play it for their children, and grandchildren and be so proud. Lyrically its about as simplistic as you can get but its a stunning song and just captures Brian.
He made those kids sound like The Beach Boys.

So, what effect is Brian using on his voice? Is it autotune, or just a phase/chorus effect?
Not autotune. It's just a lot of echo. Called "wet" recording. Lack of echo is "dry."
When you sing in your shower you are using echo, as the sound bounces off the tiles, giving you a fuller sound. Which is why EVERYONE sounds good in the shower.
Go to a room with upholstered furniture and you sound "dry." The sound of your voice is absorbed by the walls, rugs and furniture.
Brian also overdubbed his voice with echo to give it a stronger sound.
I mean he will be 80 in June. He is not 24 anyone anymore.

Wilson's voice isn't what it once was they they have used stuff on his recent albums, last Beach Boys album to enhance his voice. He had Jeff Foskett touring with him for the longest time hitting the high notes, the harmonies Brian sadly can no longer hit and their voices meshed so well togethe. Brian is still a musical genius and so glad he is still around making music, performing live
