  • IMPORTANT! The audio and video here is not mine! I just edited the clips to look epic and added the subtitles if you wanna see all links to clips I used and great voiceover made by A Vox In The Void scroll down there are links for everything I used!
True heroism isn’t found in a Space Marine, built for war and nearly invincible. The real heroes are the ordinary Guardsmen, facing the same battles with nothing but sheer will and basic gear. It's in their courage, not their armor, where true bravery shines.

Fan edit for the greatest faction of the universe Imperial Guard

  • @scepteredisle
    @scepteredisle 2 месяца назад +424

Friendly reminder that the Guard in most of the 40K lore and certainly the legit lore are not randoms given guns. They are the ELITE of their planet, drawn from the regular military. They are akin to our modern military and not just nobodies handed a gun and told to fight. Which makes it all the more horrific given they are pros yet die in their millions ....

and yet those elite are at best, living computers to artillery.

But still, they are just normal human beings, having to fight the horrors of the cosmos. That’s true bravery.

A lot of them are, certainly. But there are a few who *are* just randoms given guns. Penal legions, the Savlar Chem Dogs, and many more besides. And, honestly, I love that. They're definitely worth mentioning.

mostly true. but not DKOK. all are raised from their clone tubes to serve.
then you have tanith first and only, survivors. not the elite...merely the survivors. with drive to win.
Steel Legion, some elite regiments are the elite of the elite. but most are conscripts picked because Armageddon is in constant warfare. And they serve with honor because its their home. ironically...the thing they fight..orcs......the planet is also their home.

I get why people love space marines, but the idea of a mere human from a backwater planet not known to the rest of the empire taking on horrors of the warp and xenos seems so much more intriguing and bleak once thinking on scale.

I imagine the Emperor at his apotheosis, wiser, understanding the power of faith that humanity has, because many soldiers die for him, and this goes beyond indoctrination or propaganda, a few live and die with faith, others cornered, scared, but still wanting to be a better version of themselves decide to die in his name, they want to believe perhaps that if they die for him there will be something better, in this life for those who remain or in the next for them, and it is that same faith that keeps them in the fight and that feeds it even more in the warp.
Appreciate the symbolism, the soul of the Emperor = sun, more faith, that "sun" grows, the Emperor is literally seen as a star giving light and life but also as a destructive fire, I like to think that this faith will overturn the prophecy of the Dark King, how ironic all this must be for Lorgar, "congratulations friend, your father is not only a god, he is two gods and probably by writing that book you prevented him from being the bad god."

    • @tosi-chan
      @tosi-chan  Месяц назад +2

Did you ever hear the Tragedy of the Emperor of Mankind?
I thought not. It’s not a tale the Ecclesiarchy would share with you. Too... unsettling for their sermons.
The Emperor was a being of such immense power and vision, that even the stars themselves trembled before him. His mind, his will-unmatched. He sought to build a galaxy free of gods, free of superstition. A place where humanity would stand on its own, unshackled by faith, by the warp, by anything other than logic and unity. He believed, you see, that mankind’s destiny was in its own hands, not in the whims of divine beings.
But the Emperor-wise as he was-overlooked something. Belief. No matter how many wars he fought, how many worlds he united, he could not tear the need for gods from the hearts of men. They... craved something to worship, to follow. They needed more than mere freedom-they needed a savior.
In his crusade to cast down false gods, he forgot this fatal truth.
And so... through war, sacrifice, and the force of his indomitable will, he became the very thing he despised. A god in all but name. The Emperor-now trapped on the Golden Throne, his body broken-has become the object of worship. The priests he once dismissed now chant his name, the people he wished to free now kneel before him.
He sought to save mankind from the tyranny of gods... yet in the end, he became one.
      Isn’t it ironic?
The very thing he fought against, became his legacy. The Imperium itself is now built on his divine image. Faith, superstition-everything he hated-has grown in his name.
It’s almost as if... it was inevitable.

@@tosi-chan True, but that same man in the end managed to find faith, since in the end, in that battle he made a leap of faith, and that same faith was rewarded when a species was present at that moment.
A power so enormous that it broke the barriers of time and space, humanity's faith that in the end there is a light, and the Emperor is now that light.

“Why do you have us fight alongside these mortals? While it is our duty, given to us by the Emperor Himself, to protect mortals, why do you have us risk our lives so for mere guardsmen?”
“Because, my brother, we of the Adeptus Astartes know no fear, we fight with blood or and blade against the alien, the heretic, and the mutant. The guardsman? They feel fear, such terror that it freezes the blood like a Fenrisian winter, and yet they still pick up their mediocre weapons and fight the very same enemies that would give the greatest of His angels pause. That is why, so that you may understand what TRUE courage and bravery is, the will to push through freezing terror and fight on because no one else will.”
-- Red Doves Chapter Master Spartacus Crassus to Red Doves 9th Company Captain Severus.
The Red Doves are my homebrew space marine chapter, and the Chapter Master has the 6-9th companies fight side by side with PDF and Imperial Guard troops so that they may always know the value of human life and never forget the courage of ordinary men and women.
I called them Red-Doves because Sanguinius and Doves represent hope

At the corners of the Universe, soldiers of the Imperium have been left abandoned by their superiors to fight the Tryanid threat.
For thousands of years, worlds have been forgotten by the Imperium and left to die for some fraggin excuse they call 'purpose'.
Across the galaxy we, the underclass, we, the workers are betrayed, we, those who die here on the fields of battle, are left to decay at the hands of your precious Imperium.
I ask you this, guardsman, you call us monsters, you tell me that I have no excuse, but for those who have been forgotten by the Imperium, betrayed by the MONSTERS you serve back on Terra, the destructive and corrupt Imperium that you so hold dear, are we truly the monsters? Are we truly bringers of destruction and death?
Our worlds by Nurgle experience no pain, they are in full bliss.
Our worlds by Khorne are honorable and stand their ground as a bastion to any outside threat.
Our worlds by Slaanesh are providing what humans need, what humanity wants, our desires and needs, met.
Our worlds by Tzeentch are busy hard at work to find solutions to our problems, discovering new ones that your Imperium has kept hidden from you for hundreds of millenia.
I ask you this, is are we, the forces of Chaos Undivided really the monsters, when we liberate millions from your Imperiums grasp each day, who are destroyed and forgotten by Terra, left to die to the Tyranid beasts, to the Green threat, are we, truly, the monsters here? Or is it you, guardsman, who is the monster? Serving a regime who will only slaughter you once your purpose is fufilled.
    - Great edit, love the storytelling, need to do some good editing myself like this sometime.

To be fair, the only Xenos with 'reason' to hate humanity are the Eldar. And their 'reason' mainly stems from looking down their noses at the 'unevolved apes'.
Tyrannids? They just want to nom.
Orks? They just want to fight.
Necrons? They hate anything that breathes just for being alive.
Deldar? They just need to cause misery and suffering to keep themselves from getting chomped on by Slaanesh.
