Input lag and latency DOES matter in single player games. Having really bad lag and latency when playing a shooter, racing game or action game or really any game that requires any sort of reaction times is unbearable and unplayable, and in the case of sub 60 fps frame gen lag it is OBJECTIVELY unplayable. Playing a game like Spider-Man where you have to do quick dodges, parries, and combos and fast swinging and having a full fucking second of input latency is UNPLAYABLE.
Steamdeck for me is like original iPhone in tech world Before steamdeck there were many handheld pc from ayaneo and some other chinese companies but after steamdeck all big tech msi, asus, zotac joined handheld

Personally I disagree. If someone only has a Steam Deck and no other console/PC to play this on I don’t see “fake frames” being a problem. Id say that it makes it playable. The only concern I’d see is latency. If someone is ok with that let them play how they please. All they have is a Steam Deck so relax. I think people are just angry you didn’t need to buy a PS5 or $2,000 PC if you are ok with mediocre performance from a Steam Deck.
games like this on PC with settings like low often have higher fidelity than PS5 on performance, specially when on a smaller screen on a handheld like the steamdeck will the image quality hold up better than many people expect, while setting like medium / high to have equal and better fidelity than PS5 on Quality, let alone steps above that like very high / ultra.

Frame gen under 60fps should be made illegal. What is playable about flickery, pixel slideshow artificially boosted to 45 ? Not "very playable" at all. That input lag is so huge , u can clearly see him first flick the analog stick and like a half a second later translate that movement in the game

I just installed it, used your configuration works very well, now I’m stuck in a mission where in the start you have to send Robbie a picture of two guys with frees bee, the game works but after sending the photo you have to open the map, and this is not showing. Character freezes and everything else works. How to fix it idk)

I'm getting sick of seeing everyone and there mother throw frame gen at poor performance. All you're doing is swapping one problem for another. Sure it looks good now, but it's input lag is in the mid 20's since you locked it to 45fps. Like I get it, wanting to play the newest stuff on the Deck, I have a Deck too, but game requirements are getting higher, and when you try and make Frame gen the solution you're misleading people as to the actual capabilities of the device, but my biggest pet peeve, is that he starts the video with frame gen already enabled. Show how it runs without it, THEN show the frame gen, at least then the viewer knows what they are getting into rather than them buy it and find it plays like crap.

The only small question I have is that when I use these settings, the small yellow objective indicator or the red triangles indicating an ongoing crime behave strangely and flicker slightly when I navigate the world. From somebody thay hasn't played a Spiderman game since the original PlayStation, which one do people recommend? Is Spiderman 2 better than Spiderman 1? And can I play Spiderman 2 without context from any other previous stories? I'm not really a huge Spiderman fan, just wanted to try one out for a spin.

The web-swinging is faster in 2, including options to make it more manual like the Playstation 2 games. Otherwise, a lot of the combat and stealth elements have been refined. It might be worth your while to try it.

Yeah, no thank you. Playing anything with frame generation when the base FPS is below a stable 45 FPS is a complete waste of time. It will feel terrible at all times, which is clearly evident in your video-the input latency is far too high. I highly doubt you’ll continue playing this way once you turn the camera off.
How are you using 7.6 gb of vram and 13.1 gb of ram when the steamdeck only has 16gb of ram and its split between ram and vram you have 21gb at least when you add thoes numbers up

How is the controller latency when docked? I was playing it on my laptop hooked up to my tv and the controller latency is horrible unless i turn off Vsync and even then i get horrible screen tears with Vsync off.

Its not unoptimized, the steam deck is too weak. The steam deck struggles even with a lot of last gen titles. You can't blame a next gen game for running bad on steam deck as it uses hardware that was practically considered low end by the PC community midway through that generation. People need to keep their expectations for what the steam deck can run in check and stop expecting it to run games that were built for literally a whole generation newer of hardware well and stop acting like the steam is this ultra powerful high end gaming device. It was impressive for a HANDHELD when it came out, but even when it came out it was essentially outdated low end PC hardware. Almost every new major game running on a next gen engine runs like crap on steam deck. And that's not the games fault.

After playing and beating it on PS5 running in performance I'd do all I could to hit 60 fps - I covet that above all else.
Love your videos, but a game can not be steam deck verified for text size... so I really wouldn't put too much stock into that.
