Only time will tell but no matter what it is priced at I’m looking forward to moving on from the OG switch it has been long over due. @@writer8706 exactly. Somehow he left that point out of the video. Not sure how he missed the most obvious comparison. Ps5 specs Vs Switch 2. That’s the whole story. The other half of the story is Nintendo is way more family friendly in getting parents to buy their console. Why would they want to ruin that. This is why Nintendo gets cheap hardware so it can stay a cheap console.

If it happens to have an OLED screen right away and maybe have a bit more than 256gb storage and some other killer feature; then $450. I'd love to believe that the Switch2 will be 399.99 but more realistic price would be 449.99 or 499.99 especially since we have inflation on everything around us, games went from 59 to 69 even 79 like COD BO6 in Europe, plus Sony was able to sell their PS5 Pro for 699.. with no stand.. no disc drive might i say.. Nintendo might release a cheaper model for 299 later with less features like they did with the Switch Lite.
They broke the record by being scummy. There’ll probably be a V2 with a more optimized chip, a lite and then an oled and then a “pro”. They’re not gonna go all out day one because they know there’s people who will buy a slightly better version in a year.
@@geminijinxies7258because the OLED screen is an excuse to do a refresh mid life cycle, also means they can fix any hardware exploits that are found etc, I don't see it happening at release
I have a hard time believing Nintendo wants to go above $399 for this system. It’s not impossible that $449 could end up being the price point, but I feel like given that we know they’re abandoning the OLED screen in favor of an LCD one, it stands to reason that they would want to avoid putting a 4 at the front of the price tag as much as possible.
Depending if it's actually a good upgrade from the standard Switch, I think it might be better to release it at 400 because if they can't market it that well or really show people why they should upgrade from the Switch 1 right away, they're gonna end up having to reduce the price after a while, and that'll look bad.
Hard to believe it would take them that long to release an OLED version nowadays considering even mediocre phones come with AMOLED and some extra stuff like 3 cameras. I'm also almost confident they'll go for an OLED lite option too, people who ONLY play portable have a lot more to gain from OLED screens.
I bet they will price it $399,99 for a couple of reasons: 1. Like Sony, Nintendo can take a hit on console prices because they will probably sell a hundred million or more in the long run. 2. 399 is that sweet spot for average gamers and parents who go to stores and just look for the cheapest console available. (What Nintendo has been for years) 3. If it would perform like the steam deck or rog I would expect it to be more expensive but apparently it has pretty conservativee performance
$500 is my guess. Saves them from cutting the switch price and Nintendo fans will pay anything. Especially with nvidia in it and the gold nvidia thinks their stuff is
Are we talking about Nintendo and nvidia here? Be ready for a $499 just one sku, no games. If playstation is selling the ps5 pro, there is no incentive for Nintendo to go lower.
The pro isn't selling well though that's the thing, just because they lost it that doesn't mean people are buying, it's not really worth the extra money to most gamers
There are a select number of Switch games here in Europe that are 70 euro. Smash Bros Ultimate comes to mind, but I know there were more of them (BotW maybe), the rest is 60 or 50. Sony is charging 80 euro for a lot of their games on PS5, 70 during the PS4 gen, they were 60 before that. Chances are high all 3 of them are going to increase prices in the US as well next gen.
Nintendo made more profit on Switch than all their other consoles and handhelds COMBINED. They have plenty of leeway to not have to squeeze out max profits.
Honestly they should price it at $350-$400 and take a loss on the hardware. If you look at it the cost of the switch one with the surrounding context, it was priced so that they made profit on the hardware. The switch 2 however is going to have to convince that 100 million user base that to switch over. I think if Nintendo releases a $450 system, They would be flying a little too close to the sun there. What 12-year-old kid would be able to save up almost $500 for a video game console that mostly plays games on a significantly cheaper console?
Pretty much, it's a hard sell to the install base, £400 is probably the limit of what I would be willing to pay, the OLED is already not selling that well anymore here and people just buy the OG with a bundled game, obviously it will still sell regardless but it will sell a lot better if they can hit that price point
@@rokko_fable I'm not going to argue what these things cost to Nintendo because I can't itemize what they're packing in (neither can you) but Xbox and PlayStation generally sell at a loss to compete, and Nintendo is competing with their self
I predict that the Switch 2 will be $400 dollars. The only way I see it being more than that is if it comes with an OLED screen and a good amount of internal storage.
I remember everyone was expecting the original Switch to be $250 and was saying that everybody would buy a PS4 instead if it is $300 or more. I can see the same happening with the Switch 2, everybody is expecting $400 but it might end up being $450 and people will say "just buy a PS5 instead" but it'll end up outselling everything anyway lol
I wouldn't be surprised by $500 launch price if they take too long to get this out. There could be higher import taxes with the next administration threatening to raise tariffs. If it's only a 10% additional tariff over previous, then a $450 is raised to $495. (Edit to fix typos.)
Anything over 400 will be a problem. It’s launching near the end of console cycle and would be their most expensive console ever, inflation notwithstanding. In the mind of the “average shopper” you can buy an Xbox for 300 and PS5 for 400. It doesn’t matter that they don’t have discs as phones acclimated everyone to digital purchases.
Nobody likes the idea of rights being taken away so I don't know why y'all like the idea of options being taken away thanks to digital sales being much more than physical
I think what happens is, they casually (Twitter post) announce a price cut for the OLED and discontinue the lite and red box switch and sell through remaining inventory. Or...Nintendo comes out strong and ends their last generations by launching a regular switch 2 and switch 2 lite on day 1. Which would give them a lot more incentive to just end production of switch 1 sku's Pricing-wise though, I'm expecting $500 ($400 if they launch a lite), but would be pleasantly surprised if it's $400 ($300 for lite)
If it is $500 I would be shocked as they are price matching the PS5. Even with the value proposition as a handheld I would NOT want to make that argument, the comparisons of it to PS5 for graphics would plague it then. Nintendo will avoid this. Even if this is largely the same as the Switch 1 in the design I don't see a $500 pricepoint as a great sell when it has to be compared to the PS5 then. I think if Nintendo prices it at $500 it will end up like what happened with the 3DS, just less severe. Within' a year they will cut the price by $50 or even $70.
@NetflixForeign there is no scenario where they don't price match the PS5 since Sony has already had a sku at $400 (PS5 digital) for years now and is inevitably going to be compared to the competition anyway. I'm betting on it costing more than anyone is anticipating rather than it being the budget-friendly option this time around.
@@OhluhKayTall I consider this a false argument since for all purposes that was an incomplete system in that you didn't have a physical option at that pricepoint. I believe the Switch 2 will have a physical option across the board so $500 is the PS5 pricepoint it needs to be compared to. If Nintendo sells it at $500 it will end up like the 3DS situation, just less severe. They will price drop it within' a year by $50 or even $70. Yes I said it will be less severe but it will be severe enough they will want to price drop it. In the meantime many people will sit on their Switch's and wait for the price drop. There are plenty of good games on it so they can wait. I think this system will last a good 10 years, maybe more so charging $400 in the long run won't buy them considering all the software they will get. The system has enough legs that whatever compromises made to match up with PS5 and 6 games will be enough, especially considering the swingback we are about to get with AAA. I predict we will see a lot more AA games which will fit the Switch 2 quite nicely. I predict a number of $60 and $50 games launching regularly because they are budgeted accordingly.
@@NetflixForeign what? How would that be a false equivalence when Sony is a direct competitor offering multiple skus? By that logic, why on earth would people continue buying the current switch OLED ($350) when they could get an Xbox series S instead ($300) that? Because yes, while pricing is a big factor, it's definitely not the only reason someone buys one console over another.
if you look at the screen and the storage €399 makes the most sense, because it's not an OLED screen and 256 GB is not enough for a Xbox series S (if the specs are comparable) they will sell you the storage (512GB micro SD Express) for about €90 and then the console will be €489 for a complete experience. I have no doubt nintendo is going to capitalize on micro SD Express because 256GB is way to little for long term use.
Nate seems to be suggesting its the next two weeks. Anyone thinking less than 400 is probably wrong. But i agree its 400 to 450 I don't think Nintendo can charge more than 450 unless it's pulling off miracles.
The price isn't what killed the WiiU. The lack of marketing (most people had no idea what it was), the fact that it was effectively a side grade of the Wii with that obnoxious controller tablet monstrosity and that there were no exclusive games that compelled buying it over a Wii. That stated, $400+ will absolutely kill the Switch2 unless it is an absolutely giant upgrade over the switch, which I just don't see happening. You cannot compare it against something like the steamdeck or anything else really.
That's true. There are however many people like myself who really wanted a wii u and knew exactly what it was but just thought it's too much for the console.
450 would be an absolute high end, although difference between this and the ROG ally etc is that there is no real way for those devices to earn extra income from game sales whereas Nintendo is selling entry to an ecosystem I think if nintendo really want to get people to upgrade en-masse I think they will have to hit the 400 mark because people are going to need a new SD card with SD express The higher they push the price the harder of a sell this is to people because once you hit the 450 mark you're looking at getting on to PS5 prices and it's not going to be able to compete with those despite the upgrades
$300 just like the the original switch; with us way past the pandemic and the PlayStation five and Xbox series X not having any new systems anytime soon; there should be like plenty out as long as it doesn’t launch in the holiday season
$399 - $449 was what I was figuring. It depends how many OLED models they plan on continuing to sell. I think they have a nice pricing ladder in place if the current models are still on the shelf. With the Lite at $199, Red Box at $299, OLED at $349, you have the option for a $100 mark up for the new system from your previous offering. I have a feeling at $399 keeps the Switch from feeling un-prohibitive to most families/customers. Nintendo also needs to sell multiple to a single household again to have the success they did last gen.
I’ve been saying it’ll cost $500 for some time now. The Yen has been tanking for some time now with no signs of improving. They’ll have to pass the loss in purchasing power to the consumer.
It's the other way around... Weak Yen is good for exports. The same dollars now are worth more Yen, but their engineers/developers are probably still paid more or less the same amount of Yen as before.
I predict $399 for standard switch 2, $249-$279 for lite and $499 for Oled or upscale model. If the standard Switch 2 is over $400 it will be a hard sell for families and it won't be a runaway success like the Switch 1.
I don’t see a lot of discussion about potential tariffs and their impact on hardware for the gaming and PC/PC Handheld communities. I keep looking at refurbished Steam Decks and I have been holding off on making a purchase for something upgraded next year. I have a kid and a second on the way, so I’m very cost conscious at the moment. I hope I don’t regret waiting.
imo, if you play anything else but the First Party games, I feel just about any other handheld. Mostly the Steam Deck, is going to give you a better experience at a lower cost. Most reports also say the Switch 2 might be pretty dated by the time it comes out. I can easily play BG3 or GTA V SP on my Steam Deck, if the Switch is $500, other then Mario, there is nothing keeping me on Switch anymore.. I think they are more hoping you have invested hard into the Switch 1 that you would want to keep playing your Library on better hardware and you have to go through them.
If Nintendo charges $500 for the Switch 2 it's a wrap. You can walk into a store right now and walk out with a PS5 for $500 that is way more powerful spec wise and already has a library of games established. Nintendo would be fools to try and charge $500 for this thing. Most parents would just wait on it and buy their kids a Switch 1 if they don't already own one or Buy a PS5.
Over $400 seems risky for a broad mainstream Nintendo system. Given that they didn't drop the price of Wii U or Switch hardware, they can afford to lose some upfront since it'll stay at $400 for the rest of its life for the dockable version.
$300 seems much better for the target audience with a $350 max. $400+ without an OLED screen is just not the right price point. Plus software sales profits are more important than hardware sales profits, but you need that hardware in everyone's hand. Buy two switchs for your kids with a price tag close to $1000 after taxes, that's just crazy!
I'm hoping the Switch's successor will only be one SKU at launch (with future variants coming in down the road) and the MSRP will be 365 USD. However, I wouldn't be shocked if it gets into $400 territory at minimum or $450 territory. However, I think Nintendo's going to have a difficult time selling to the non-core Nintendo fans on the idea of spending $450 in particular when they can get a more powerful system in the form of a Steam Deck for around the same price point or PS5/Xbox Series.
I expect it'll be actually less than the OLED. Simply because affordability is one of the biggest reasons they are selling so many, and they are producing a ridiculous number of units straight out of the gate. US tariffs might take it to $350, maximum. In the UK I think £320 maximum but quite possibly only £300. Just look at the Wii, DS and OG sales. They'll just discount and sell through the old stock, keeping only the Lite until a new one arrives, maybe revise the OG.
I'll personally get it at most of the rumored price points. Hard to say what it will be, with inflation and the Japanese Yen exchange rate being what they are. It's also one of those things that rumors often don't seem to get accurate. So it's probably one of the least interesting things about the system, at least for me.
Nintendo Switch will be AU$579.95-599.95. Based on the hardware & the fact it will not be an OLED, it's the most likely price. The current OLED Switch is AU$539.95 & V2 Switch is AU$469.95.
I reckon, switch 2 will be sold dockless at $300-$350, and they'll sell a wireless dock at about $150-200 with a normal dock either priced as it is now, or maybe goes up in price to $100 to make margins, but still keep it at a low price.
It’s literally impossible for Nintendo to price the Super Switch at $449.99 I know based on everything so far, that the solid price will be $399.99 & not a dime more. A solid position for Nintendo to keep selling the OLED Switch & drop the Base Switch/ Lite. I’m thinking they’ll also replace the Lite, Sooner rather than later to get more people onto the new platform. It all makes perfect business sense. Though they could also start at $349.99 to completely replace the Switch OLED but with the popularity, I’d say they have no need.
I picked up the Steam Deck 1Tb unit at $650 without batting an eye, so $450 is not out of my price range. I understand how this price might not be as affordable for many people, but I don't believe it would adversely affect Nintendo's sales figures by much, at least during the first year. It may, however, affect later sales. Or, it may not affect sales at all. Who knows, I'm definitely not an expert in pricing/sales analysis!
I personally know probably close to a dozen people who want a Switch but don't have one due to it being out of their price range. These people are in their early-late 20s. A $450 Switch 2 will be a big ask from Nintendo, and I can see it doing more harm than good. Personally, I'm buying it regardless. But, my point is I see $450 being too much for a lot of Nintendo's audience AND especially their potential audience. If we do see a $450 Switch 2, then that means Nintendo really backed themselves into a corner with their current Switch lineup and pricing and had little other choice. As for its announcement and release date, I'm with you Jon, in that I believe we'll get a trailer the last week of this month, then a press release/tweet announcing a direct a week to two weeks maximum later which will go into further detail about its features, pricing, and availability. The direct could be in March, but I think the first week or two of Feb is more likely. I also expect it to be $400, not $450; leaks show Nintendo is saving cost everywhere it can with its vendors.
I think they'll follow a similar plan they did with the Switch. They'll probably do $399 for a base Switch 2 and in a few years, release an updated OLED version for $449. Which seems fair and aligns with Nintendo's views of how they've always wanted to bring their stuff into homes for cheaper than the competition.
I think the Switch 2 annoucement will come either this Tuesday or Wednesday. I also think a slightly higher price tag will communicate quality, and will better appeal to the hardcore gamer as well as casual.
Pairing a piece of software with the hardware seems like the best way to incentivize purchases of higher priced consoles. Nintendo sometimes does this but not always.
If Nintendo brings their A-Game with the new Console, I'm willing to pay $500. With all the Leaks & Rumors they are allowing to circulate they should just announce it already.
Looking back at the Switch's announcement day, Wed. Jan. 13, 2016, and the release date, Thur. Mar. 3, 2016, we could potentially see the Switch 2's announcement this Wed. on the 15th with a release date of Mar-Apr
I think 350 is what they will go with. They want to be an excellent product at a family friendly price. Something that will promote many purchases within a family
@@CarlosFlores-nr4ky well no. Not really. Because the bulk of people buying nintendo consoles are...parents getting them for their kids. And you wouldn't get a steam deck for a 9 year old.

I think it’s tough to say without knowing final specs or set inclusions, but I’d bet the original plan was $399, but they are going to say $449 or $499, ‘because tariffs.’
Looking at previous patterns Nintendo like to do directs in February and September, specifically on Wednesdays. My guess is a direct revealing switch 2 on the 12th or 19th of February.
Well they have an investors meeting at the beginning of February. It would be insane for them to go into the meeting still having not revealed the Switch 2.
Bit of a niche guess but for the UK I can see the price tag of £429.99. It just looks like a strong number around that price range and looks like a psychologically easier sell than £449.99.
My biggest wish for the Switch 2 is current gen upgrades for Nintendo’s exclusives like Tears, Xenoblade, Bayonetta 3, Scarlet/Violet, and others. My other wish that I don’t feel is as likely but still possible would be the addition of a GameCube emulator added to NSO
I think the device going for around $429. You could probably get a good indicator of how much by the cost of the Ally Z1 non Extreme retail price. The Wii U was actually semi subsidized priced and I think Nintendo priced it at cost instead of at a lost. They do not want to price it more than $450 because it creeps up to the price of the PS5 and Xbox consoles. It's like advertising an upsell to the competitor consoles if the Switch 2 is close enough in price. I really see the price being around $399 or $429 at most.
I’m not sure what kind of mental gymnastics my brain is pulling but at $399 it’s a day one buy but at $449 I’d want to wait and see how it runs newer titles and older titles upscaled.
Wish they also made a 3ds 2. Imagine a more powerful duel screen clamshell handheld that can be put in your pocket and has 2 of those sliding joysticks.
It's tough man, There are plenty of us hardcore Nintendo fans who will absolutely buy it at 450 but Mom and Dad can't always afford the new console. We saw that with the Rock bottom price point of the Wii, it became one of the best selling systems of all time and reached a larger audience. The switch has also had success of that sort and Nintendo may want to continue keeping low price points for their hardware while jacking up the prices on their software. I'm able to have two switches for my kids because the price is reasonable but there's no way I'm buying two $450 systems for my five kids.
I think they will release a black 512 gb version at $499.99 in April to capitalize on the launch hype and then in November for the holiday season they will introduce a white 256 gb version with a game code for $449.99. I can't see the margins working for them any other way but I hope I am wrong.

No way dude. That is a pre inflation price!
2025 switch 2 400$
2027 switch 2 litw 300$
2030 switch 2 oled 450$
If it ain't broke don't fix it
2033??
Hard to believe it would take them that long to release an OLED version nowadays considering even mediocre phones come with AMOLED and some extra stuff like 3 cameras. I'm also almost confident they'll go for an OLED lite option too, people who ONLY play portable have a lot more to gain from OLED screens.
I was gonna get a switch 2 but if they do this I'm not gonna get a switch 2.
If S2 doesn’t have OLED at launch, that’s a big L
I bet they will price it $399,99 for a couple of reasons:
1. Like Sony, Nintendo can take a hit on console prices because they will probably sell a hundred million or more in the long run.
2. 399 is that sweet spot for average gamers and parents who go to stores and just look for the cheapest console available. (What Nintendo has been for years)
The pro isn't selling well though that's the thing, just because they lost it that doesn't mean people are buying, it's not really worth the extra money to most gamers
i’m guessing $399 USD with a price increase on carts to $70 to make up the difference
That’s BS for a Nintendo game though. Honestly it’s bad enough they’re 60. This isn’t cutting edge tech so why so much?
Lot of their games are not $60 worthy. Zelda Echoes, Mario Party and Animal Crossing to name a few.@whitediggity
@@whitediggityWhat the hell makes a Nintendo game not worth $60?
You think $350 - $400 would be a loss on hardware? Nintendo doesn’t use the latest processors etc … there is no way they’d take a loss at $350
@@rokko_fable I'm not going to argue what these things cost to Nintendo because I can't itemize what they're packing in (neither can you) but Xbox and PlayStation generally sell at a loss to compete, and Nintendo is competing with their self
nintendo never sell their console at loss no way in hell it's will be less than 400-499
I predict that the Switch 2 will be $400 dollars. The only way I see it being more than that is if it comes with an OLED screen and a good amount of internal storage.
I think we see a $300 handheld only model and the regular one is $400…with $50 price drop for existing Switch models
To be honest, if they come out with an OLED model of the Switch 2 at launch, I'd pay 500 at launch.
It'll probably be $450 to make it a fair deal
@ unfortunately it won’t be oled
I wouldn't be surprised by $500 launch price if they take too long to get this out. There could be higher import taxes with the next administration threatening to raise tariffs. If it's only a 10% additional tariff over previous, then a $450 is raised to $495.
(Edit to fix typos.)
I can't wait for the Switch 2 to release so I can stop hearing about Switch 2 speculation
Yup, digital console sales outnumber physical by a fair margin, so the target is the PS5 slim in terms of pricing
Which would give them a lot more incentive to just end production of switch 1 sku's
Pricing-wise though, I'm expecting $500 ($400 if they launch a lite), but would be pleasantly surprised if it's $400 ($300 for lite)
@@OhluhKayTall Correction meant to say false equivalence.
I'm ready for whatever. Still on my launch console.
I have been thinking all along that the Switch 2 was going to cost between $400 and $500 dollars.
This in-depth analysis is why I've been listening to Spawnwave for years. Sharp insights, fascinating stuff.
$400 would be the sweet spot. Maybe $449 for the MK9 edition.
It will come out at $499. Mark my words on this one. If I am wrong I will admit it but it may be even more 😮
As long as it doesn't exceed $450.. 400 is what I'm hoping for, but I can understand 450.. 480-500 is to much for me
Watch it be $300 and switch 2 explodes in sales more than the switch
Yeah you’re smoking that good kush
@@nottryingtobefamous9399he’s def smoking dat kush
$399 for sure
Hopium
Watch it be $419,99
If it's $399 I'm going to buy it on day one.
@@kierenbuckley370 What do you think the price will be? Wanna make a gentleman's bet?
if you look at the screen and the storage €399 makes the most sense, because it's not an OLED screen and 256 GB is not enough for a Xbox series S (if the specs are comparable) they will sell you the storage (512GB micro SD Express) for about €90 and then the console will be €489 for a complete experience. I have no doubt nintendo is going to capitalize on micro SD Express because 256GB is way to little for long term use.
$500 from the guy in the purple chair- SOLD!!!
I'm expecting it to be around 400, max 450. I'd be really shocked if it was more than that.
Nate seems to be suggesting its the next two weeks.
Anyone thinking less than 400 is probably wrong. But i agree its 400 to 450 I don't think Nintendo can charge more than 450 unless it's pulling off miracles.
Yeah unless that 450 includes a decent bundled game I don't see that price point working well
The price isn't what killed the WiiU.
349.99 looks better from a pr perspective, I think. But it gonna be 399.99.
450 would be an absolute high end, although difference between this and the ROG ally etc is that there is no real way for those devices to earn extra income from game sales whereas Nintendo is selling entry to an ecosystem
I think if nintendo really want to get people to upgrade en-masse I think they will have to hit the 400 mark because people are going to need a new SD card with SD express
The higher they push the price the harder of a sell this is to people because once you hit the 450 mark you're looking at getting on to PS5 prices and it's not going to be able to compete with those despite the upgrades
They might offer a dockless version for $400
Only a few more days till we know for sure
$300 just like the the original switch; with us way past the pandemic and the PlayStation five and Xbox series X not having any new systems anytime soon; there should be like plenty out as long as it doesn’t launch in the holiday season
$450? I was close. I was thinking $499 usd.
Are there any reports of it launching with an OLED screen?
@@SoopaMan2K i thimk it has been 'conformed' it uses LCD. It might have hall effect sticks though
Switch 2, Pro Controller, 1 game, tarrifs, tax... $650 out the door... Save at least $550 peeps.
I think theyll charge 450 or 500. You dont buy it for the specs you buy it for the first party exclusives
Makes no sense of it's not that much different from switch
You’re forgetting a huge appeal of Nintendo is parents buying cheap stuff for their kids. This is not like buying a ps5.
imo, if you play anything else but the First Party games, I feel just about any other handheld.
Agreed with most, $399.99 seems to be the sweet spot, $449.00 if they make the OLED
It should have an Oled screen for that price.
Literally my whole issues. Backwards compatibility is NOT an attractive feature when games will look worse on Switch 2…
Nah the OLED is the mid cycle refresh so they can iron out the inevitable exploits that will plague the release console
I hope it's expensive and not many can upgrade and they have FoMo and start stealing things to get the money.
I made a simple calculation using game theory and the best strategy is pricing it at 400 USD.
I'm kinda surprised they've not released a Switch Lite Oled.
It’s literally impossible for Nintendo to price the Super Switch at $449.99
I know based on everything so far, that the solid price will be $399.99 & not a dime more.
New Album - Righteous Destruction (U tube / Band camp)
Please no pack in game I’m never going to play.
I think the Switch 2 annoucement will come either this Tuesday or Wednesday. I also think a slightly higher price tag will communicate quality, and will better appeal to the hardcore gamer as well as casual.
699.99 - 1000 once the scalpers get their hands on it.
Iv always said it’s gonna more expensive than we are expecting. Don’t understand why people think it’s gonna be $400 only, makes zero sense.
Nintendo's consoles since the n64 have always been way cheaper than their competitors. 🤷
@
lol k well yeah i guess it’s relative. If the Switch 2 is $450, it’s still cheaper than PS5 at $500.
Pairing a piece of software with the hardware seems like the best way to incentivize purchases of higher priced consoles. Nintendo sometimes does this but not always.
an OLED version could be 450 but an IPS version should be 400.
Nintendo will never release a console at over 400. 350 is still an out of the park guess for me but 400 is still okay
I think 350 is what they will go with. They want to be an excellent product at a family friendly price. Something that will promote many purchases within a family
At this point people are just going to buy one of those handheld PC gaming consoles
@@CarlosFlores-nr4ky well no. Not really. Because the bulk of people buying nintendo consoles are...parents getting them for their kids. And you wouldn't get a steam deck for a 9 year old.
Those aren’t even sold in stores. No parent is buying their kid a Steam Deck lol
I think $399 with no dock or bundled with dock for $479
the 2 different switch 2's will most likely just be color options like with switch 1, 1 with gray joycons and 1 with blue and red joycons
Yeah I think you're tripping I think it's going to be as much damn near as a steam deck they want to be on that level at least and they're worth it they're going to go 500 499
I think it’s tough to say without knowing final specs or set inclusions, but I’d bet the original plan was $399, but they are going to say $449 or $499, ‘because tariffs.’
My heart says $400 but my gut says $450-500, inflation is kicking our asses right now and Nintendo is notoriously greedy.
Bit of a niche guess but for the UK I can see the price tag of £429.99. It just looks like a strong number around that price range and looks like a psychologically easier sell than £449.99.
The Switch 2 will probably be $400 US.
Suprised more don’t think 500$ especially after seeing the ps5 pro
500 Dollars for an LCD SWITCH 2
Aim high - $499, fall low…$399
I think they will release a black 512 gb version at $499.99 in April to capitalize on the launch hype and then in November for the holiday season they will introduce a white 256 gb version with a game code for $449.99. I can't see the margins working for them any other way but I hope I am wrong.
Maybe they split it and make it $429.
