Get a circuit breaker sensor. It has a signaling device that plugs into the outlet, and a sensing device that beeps when it is placed next to the circuit breaker.
Hi! Is there a way to STOP bugs from coming through the vents?! 😵💫🙃My apartment building has this same system but during the summer I have a hard time keeping them out of my apartment. Looking out my window you can see ants on the window ledge getting into the vent.. and other bugs (spiders, bees, wasp etc) near it but trying to prevent those bigger bugs from getting in
Look on the outside of the PTAC and try to see where the bugs are entering. There must be a hole that is allowing them to enter. Once you find the hole, plug it (maybe with caulkng). If the hole is necessary, such as a drain hole, then cover it with a piece of window screen. The basic point is, if bugs are getting in, there must be a hole somewhere.
Could be many reasons why a PTAC won't turn on. First, use an outlet tester to see if you have voltage at the outlet. Then test to see if you have voltage at the control board. If you have voltage, then you have to test for voltage at control board outputs to fan, heating element, comptessor, switchcompressor, there is voltage to the components, then you have to test the component. Takes time and patience. Try looking for other you tube videos, or go to service manuals.com and see if you can get a repair manual and wiring diagram.
Very helpful! Thank you!

How do you find the breaker at a hotel to change the outlet for it

Excellent video, Thanks.
My unit only needs a temperature switch. Can you tell me where to find one?

Breakers not in the room so I have to change it live!?
Best to turn off the breaker, especially for a 240 circuit.

Last time working perfect, just try to turn on yesterday but it won't
Yes, that's the way things go. Any time something can happen. Good luck fixing it. Make sure the circuit breaker is on.

Looks like a used unit? Said it was new....
Thanks for the comment! We weren't being exact with our terminology. By new we meant a working unit, that was used before.
Whoever is whistling in the back is so annoying.
Thanks for the comment. I'll talk to the helper.
