I’m all for silk sheets so the Layla sheets are perfect for me. I like that they are soft, silky, and 100% viscose from bamboo. Reasonably priced too. Purple are a nice option too, seems super comfy and i like that they are stretchy and sleep cool.
The Layla bamboo sheets look like the winner for me. THey just make you WANT to crawl and bed and curl up. I really love the plushness of these sheets. I really love that they sleep cool and dont look like they will stick or cling to the body.
Honestly how crisp or pretty sheets are doesn't matter to me, I run hot and care about cooling. The purple sheets definitely interest me!

I loved this video review because its a great list of sheets offering something for everyone. Being the sheet snob that i am i would have to pick the Ettitude or the Layla sheets just because i am a bamboo addict and havent slept on anything else in almost 20 years. Im also curious about the Purple brand sheets even though they are a blend. I love anything soft and smooth to sleep on. Lots of great information Sarah and thank you for teaching us so much

With my itchy dry winter skin in thinking the California design den would be amazing and the price is great, would also love the purple since it will stay on the bed without wrinkling and Layla sheets for the summertime and the silky design sounds perfect. Thank you for all the choices!

Thanks! I think I'll try the first one. With that price it doesn't hurt to try them. :) I own a purple sheet set. The pillow cases are great and it fits larger queens really well, but the sheet is super thin and they get those dreaded balls after a few washings.
Thank you for mentioning the pill balls.....this is one of my biggest concerns when buying sheets....I wanna know if they're gonna pill after I wash them. Did the layla pill as well?

Wow, they sound all good. Kassatex sheet set looks so soft and cozy. I also like Bamboo sheets of Purple (wrinkle-free is a big plus!) and Layla. Never hear of Ettitude's Bamboo Lyocell... you say, it is like combination of silk and cotton? Wow, that sounds awesome. I'm going to try 10 Grove's Blind Feel Test. I love these "best" reviews. Kinda want to try a few of these out, especially the 10 Grove sheets and probably Ettitude's but one thing that might ultimately decide the sheets is the stitching. Top notch stitching and no hanging threads are probably what's going to set the good from the great for me.

I am loving the Ettitude Bamboo Lyocell Sheets. Really like that they are organic with that plush and soft feel. Would love to try these out.
How are they after washing do you find? I’ve washed my Ettitude quilt cover set once and it’s lost the lustre and I think I prefer a different feel though

@sleepopolis Thanks for the comparison. I have a question about your linen sheet recommendation. The Citizenry was not on your 2019 list of top 6 linen brands. How does it compare and when you rank items in a category, are those the only ones you review and then you assign each one to a "best in..." or have you compared at least 10 others or so before choosing the best in whatever category?
The purple sheets look like the sheets for me. I like that it keeps you cool and the wrinkle free look.
I've been using the California Design Den sheets for years! I highly recommend them.

Madison Park 1500 thread count sheets are the most comfortable I've ever slept on. Affordable

I was thinking about getting the purple sheets but I wasn't sure if the stretchiness would make them baggy. I had a set that was like that before and I hated them. I ended up purchasing the Layla sheets based on your review. I am a hot sleeper and am tired of waking up sweaty.
Kassatex seems like the right sheet for me. Crip but soft sounds great.

Hi & thanks for the reviews. But I'm confused: several decades ago sheets that were "Percale" were considered "cheap" and really rough (compared to high thread count cotton). Do I understand correctly that Percale is a drastically different product?

Hi Sarah! I bought Ettitude sheets because I’m eco-conscious, and I LOVED how they felt when I first put them on the bed - very silky, lightweight, and soft. Unfortunately, they lost their sheen and started pilling up, which makes me concerned for their longevity. Do you have a recommendation for an alternative sheet set under $200?
Not sure if you’re still looking but I heard that the Organic Bamboo Viscose Sheet Set from Quince were very good and comparable to the Ettitude sheets. I have not tried them myself but I thought I’d throw it out there in case you were still on the hunt for some sheets.

California Design Den cotton sateen set $35-40 made of long staple cotton with a 400 thread count can work with almost anyone's budget including mine. All the rest start at $99 or above and would be on a wish list for me.

I’m looking for sheets that have a similar feel to microfibre really soft smooth, drapey and not crispy if that makes sense. But I need them to be much more breathable because of night sweats. Can you recommend anything ?

I just ordered two twin XL mattresses for our kin adjustable bed. My mattress is 1/2" taller than my husband's bed. Will that be a problem? Also, if one of us raises the foot of our mattress, will the top sheet come off? This will be our first King and first adjustable bed.

Hey Brenda - Haven't had the chance to try Bed Thread yet but I heartily recommend the Tuft & Needle Linen Sheet Set for folks just entering the world of linen bedding. Linen bedding is generally very pricey, but the T&N linen sheets are remarkably affordable for their quality. I am looking to find a set of sheets that are SUPER thick and very crisp. I am trying to find similar to the ones my mother's designer bought and can't figure out the brand or type. They are so dense, you can barely see the threads, and they are matte. They always feel cool. They don't seem to get wrinkled easily which surprises me (I never bother to iron sheets). The thickness and density (making them smooth) are key. Can you help?

Sarah, question for you. For the past 15 years, I’ve only bought high end percale bedding from Sferra and Frette which I love both. Like you, I am a hot sleeper so I’ve been reading a lot about Bamboo sheets as well and was thinking of giving them a try. Any advice on the best one out there? Cozy Earth or what would you recommend? Linens are splurge vice so if the product is great, I’m willing to pay a premium. Please let me know. Thanks, Billy
Hey Billy - Let me tell you: you will not be disappointed with the world of bamboo bedding. What I have on my bed right now is the Ettitude Bamboo Lyocell Sheet Set, and they are super soft and breathable. But the great thing about bamboo bedding in general is that it's silky, cooling, airy, and super durable. I'd definitely look into the Layla Sheet Set, Eli & Elm Bamboo Sheet Set, and the Luxor Linens Delano Sheet Set (this one blends bamboo with Egyptian cotton for a very luxurious feel). Also I would like your opinion on Frette versus Pure Purima sheets. Quite a cost difference. Are Frette that much better?
They are suuuper luxurious so if you have the budget they're the way to go. However, Pure Parima are also great sheets that are a bit more affordable.
The California Design Den ones sounds interesting to me and have a decent price point too.

You should review "Bed Threads" I always see this aesthetic linen but I can't find ANY reviews except the onces on their site which are obviously all a 4-5 star rating🙄

I highly prefer European/envelope closure pillowcases but find that this feature isn’t always clearly advertised for sheet sets. Do you have any recommendations for soft mid price range cotton sheet sets that feature such pillowcases?
Is it a better idea to mix and match pillowcases than buy sheet sets just for the pillow closure?
Hey Josh, I know what you mean, I prefer envelope closures as well. If you prefer your envelope closures in the back of the pillow, Parachute Home and Tuft & Needle are great options, and they sell pillowcases and shams individually. If you prefer the closures on the side of the pillowcase, I suggest looking into MagicLinen, Casper, and 10 Grove. Additionally, if you're interested in experimenting with zipper closures, Coop Home Goods has some great options! Good luck :)
I have super sensitive skin and can't handle a low% of cotton, while also having texture issues so plad types of sheets dont work either. Something soft would be best. What would you reccomend for sheets that are still a good low price point?

I'm looking for a sheet that will stay flat and smooth. I have the corner grabber thingys, but our flat sheets get bunched up every night. It drives me nuts and actually hurts at times. Any suggestions?

Bath sheets is my question can you do video on them. Bamboo is suppose to be cool and breathable. I saw someone review Carilona bath towel and talk about how warm it is. How cam bamboo be cool and breathable now it’s so warm. Am I being to techica. A towel is warmer just because it’s heavier. What’s better to dry off with. Boll and branch organic cotton. Or Carilona bamboo sheets. With Boll and branch they have sets and colors ready for you to select and buy. Carilona seems like you got to pick and match. I don’t want to invest heavy into Boll and branch. Then get my hands on Carilona and it be so soft I’m cursing for days not putting in the effort to pick and match their towels to make a great set. Help

Does the Ettitude fitted sheet have an elastic border? How well does it stay on the mattress and will it fit higher profile mattresses?

I’m looking for a cool to the feel sheet that allows the cooling matter cover to flow through - cool to touch . One I like are not being made called fieldcrest is supination cotton with sateen weave . I dine recall the thread count but cold to touch and light weigh silky cool to the touch . What would you recommend .

Hey there - Well, first of all, you should definitely check out my Best Sheets for Hot Sleepers 2020 review for a variety of options. In the meantime, you really can't go wrong with sheets that are made from 100% bamboo. I heartily recommend the Layla sheet set and Ettitude Lyocell Bamboo sheet set. If you're looking specifically for cotton, though, go with a jersey knit sheet (Tuft & Needle Jersey sheet set is a great pick!).

Derwin da Destroyer depends on which brand my purple sheets have not wrinkled yet but I try to follow the wash instructions
