Quarter turn ceramic disc cartridges do wear out and the whole cartridge needs to be replaced. Old style tap washers are cheap and easy to replace.

I had a similar tap and it leaked.
The top refused to budge.
Had a complete replacement done.
Now after seeing the spray being applied, will give use it in future.

The older style tap was full open after about one turn. The rest of the turning was just the available travel of the mechanism.

Cartridges are not universal, this doesn't work with all faucets. The wear on the bottom of the flat washer, indicated that the seat was worn or pitted. The seat should have been changed as well as the flat washer, if the leak was from the spout. The biggest mistake with that system, is people tighten the handle down way too much. If everything is new, that much force isn't needed. If the leak was from the handle.then the "O" ring needed replacing. Lubricating the "O" ring with silicone grease, not Vaseline. Vaseline deteriorates rubber.
Exactly!!! The problem is when guest stay over or people you live with won’t listen to this advice because they don’t have to fix it😅
sorry but the new system is lousy , the old one is much better , simply had to change the o ring and ok, why buying a new cartridge

Ни одна современная кранбукса не проработает столько сколько выпущенные в советские времена. В крайнем случае манжета менялась и безупречная служба продолжалась. А в этих изнашивается шайба и ремонт сложнее.
Вы совершенно правы нет лудьше Советских кранбуксов а современные разовые хотя конечно я их тоже ремонтирую там керамика да резина уплотнительная изнашиваются,а этот товарищ ещё и солидолом намазал и пей воду с привкусом солидола
сейчас есть хорошая фурнитура, но дорогая, какой-нибудь Комап, который правда ушел с рынка или Комиса, очень долговечные, но стоят дорого, потому что это премиальный сегмент!

Juat fix your gasket, and washer and screw if need be. A piece of dirt can scratch the ceramic and wear it out, forcing $15 repairs annually. Maybe add a filter to house to prevent dirt?
The filter is a great idea, especially inline with the commode fill water line ... keeps that water level valve clear of sand, grit, particles that can hold open the toilet fill valve.

Whenever a washer or o-ring is installed or replaced it has to be lubed and for it to seal correctly… This has only been practiced since plumbings inception…

Абсолютно верно. В полуоборотных фторопластовое кольцо уплотнительное изнашивается мгновенно у дешевых, а дорогие невероятно дороги.
