I am an engineer and I have also worked as an escalator operator. Nowadays escalators are one of the most Hi-tec as they are installed with a lot of sensors. The escalator will automatically stop if any kind of unusual thing is observed and requires a key to reset it. Every escalator has minimum 3 stop buttons that are accessible to civilians. You just need knowledge. But still precautions should be taken as it is a machine and failure can be there.
Just use staircase simple. Advantage 1)we will be healthy. 2)less rush as people would be using escalator. 3)no fear. But I know staircase is not everywhere.😢😢😢

One time when I was 8 in Dubai I was changing the flight to go somewhere, we used an escalator instead of the lift because me and my siblings begged right, then while we were going down my shoe laces were untied, of course I didn’t mind right? Ig I just had a bad feeling so I went over to the girl and walked behind her, turns out one of the tires was instable and the girl nearly fell, there was wooden beams and such with really bent screws and such, and if she fell, it would have been quite the nasty spill- idk how I managed to react so quickly, but I kinda just immediately grabbed her and ended up taking the fall myself while keeping her from falling- the baby was safe and I fractured my ankle pretty badly lol- worth it though because the baby was indeed adorable-

A few years ago, my mom, two brothers and I went to a shopping centre and my mom was to busy looking at jewellery, my younger brother was about 1 or 2 years old, my little brother was going up the down esculator and the he tripped and my older brother helped him get up but my older got stuck in the esculator. We were all panicking while oir mother was looking at jewellery, a few strangers helped my older brother get unstuck and our mother finally left the jewellery store and noticed what happened. Ever since then i have always been scared of esculators and our mother doesnt take very good care of the youngest child and i have to take care of my 4 year old sister while im 15 and my little sister thinks that Im her mother instead of her big sister😅
